The Queen would never have put one her guests, especially the PM in this position. Timings would have been communicated to the PM by The Queen's equerry.
Did you not listen to the clip? Queen Elizabeth said “Dressed for dinner already?” And “We will have supper moved up.” Which means that the PM was given a schedule but she thought that the Royal family would be dressed up for teatime and they weren’t.
Later, Diana aces it
oh great!
mark is here with his first-hand knowledge 🙄
What a good actor Anderson is. I genuinely didn’t recognise her until she spoke.
I absolutely love Gillian Anderson and Margaret Thatcher ❤
This didn’t happen. The Queen would ensured all guests were informed of timings and protocols, including dress codes to put the guests at their ease.
Although Prince Phillip had a reputation for rudeness he also knew what it was to be an outsider coming into such an senecio. Though he may have mocked a guest out of ear shot there’s no way he’d have done it in front of them when they were so obviously tying to do ‘the right thing’. Phillip was also fully committed to The Crown so wouldn’t have wanted to risk political upset by shaming the elected PM in such a way.
You really have fallen for the Royalist spin and bs. They were bullies well known for their uncouth and unacceptable behaviour
The problem wasn't that the PM wasn't informed about the schedule. She wasn't really dressed for dinner, you see? She intentionally dressed nicely for tea because she assumed that the royal family would also be more nicely dressed for tea. Because her assumption was wrong, she came overdressed.
The Queen only made the remark about Thatcher being "already dressed for dinner" and moved up supper to try and take the awkwardness out of that situation and make the PM feel less embarrassed. I do agree, though, that it's highly unlikely that Prince Philip would've made fun of the PM like that.
As a host, he would never insult a guest in his home.
@@shimanopetermann9068 From what I've heard about him, I wouldn't be so sure. The Duke of Edinburgh was not known for his skills in diplomacy.
I'M ANGRY ABOUT SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED IN A FICTIONAL SHOW BASED LOOSELY ON REAL LIFE EVENTS AAARRGGHHH VALIDATE MY RAGE!!!
“IM ANGRY ABOUT SOMEONES OPINION I DONT KNOW ON THE INTERNET ABOUT A SHOW I DIDNT MAKE AND HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE CREATION OF!! ARGHHH!”
@@stephensmith4025 Your grammar is ridiculous. Honestly, some people just take things too far on this Internet..
This scene is TOO unreal😂
Cannot believe there was such a royal lack of courtesy& hospitality . By etiquette&protocol, any royal would be polite and kind to anyone, even a reptylian martian , expecially facing P.M. , LADY THATCHER, in this case !
The ONLY one UNPOLITE? Prince Philip... Yes, that would have been possible ( and Prince Andrew too)
Love love that dress
I DON'T BELIEVE FOR A MOMENT THAT THIS HAPPENED.
Actually it DID happen according to other sources
If this really happened then the queen, phillips queen mother , queen children ,princess margaret are considered very rude and crown did made this scene as a fiction I guess
Why is the Queen rude? She tried to save the situation with the remark about dinner and moving supper up. She did this to make Thatcher feel less embarrassed about appearing overdressed for tea. If anything, I find that really kind and polite.
@@shimanopetermann9068 I added a point I guess this is a fiction but otherwise this is not the way u let ur family behave towards a nation prime minister .Queen atleast ask all of them to behave well it's her responsibility to tc of her guests
Do they need to dress differently for dinner, tea time, lunch and all activities of the day?
Oh yes.
Ms thatcher ..so be it!!❤❤
This didnt happen
Who’s the guy with the mustache?
fuck that
Rude.
Prince Philip wouldn't last too long around me as he thinks he can outwit anyone with his sarcasm. He be no match for me he would be laughing in shame of losing that match
Old Lizzy was brutal savage bully
1) this never happened
2) Elizabeth is literally the only person in this scene trying to salvage some dignity for the thatchers
@@DanielSMarriottI think they're referring to the Queen Mum, not Queen Elizabeth II.
