It's a skull was an awesome tune of the time. As for the SWOS patch, I might be wrong, but it may have been on some other future amiga coverdisk. I definately remember getting updates on cover cd's? Also pretty certain it was also on a CU coverdisk?
Every chance you're right, I skipped through all of Amiga Power from then on and didn't see it but it could absolutely have been elsewhere. I didn't check whether they ever sent them out to registered users too but surely they must have.
@@Yesterzine the patch was fairly small if memory serves me right. Only way to access it was through workbench, then dragging it across to a back-up of disk2. Disk2 was able to be backed up and never had copy protection if memory is working as it should. I know for a fact my swos box contains multiple copies of disk2 cos of these patches. The size of the patch to fix the bugs tho, I think were around 200kb.
Oh, Future Publishing's creative (lacklustre) graphic design. Thanks for reminding me. Does anyone remember how Y.S only published fake fan art/cartoons? They never replied to me or accepted anything I sent. They used the same 2 artists.
Offical Play Station Magazine UK Advertised though others did too but they also reviewed Bubble Bobble 2 on PS1 and gave it a score in the 90s out of 100. No one else reviewed it and they rated it higher than Castlevania Symphony of The Night and it always showed in there short review summary listings for years. Yet the game was never 100% completed not was it even commecially sold. I tried looking for this games for years thanks to this Review.Then found a copy of what was done on the game years later on a CDR on a carboot stall. It's a mess with bad gliches some items Crash the game,you can skip levels pressing trigger buttons which makes bosses turn into gliched messes and its missing parts of the music so now clue how they rated it so high.
I assume that much like with SWOS the PR rep said "Don't worry, the retail game won't have these bugs" and they for some reason believed them. You're right though, all magazines really did review the odd unfinished game, they just weren't daft enough to brag they didn't. For instance I know of 2 incidents in Super Play of Amiga Power writers reviewing transparently unfinished games.
Hot take. I dont like stardust or superstardust, to me it was an archaic game with a fancy wallpaper and i still don't like asteroids to this day. GIVE ME SCROLLING OR GIVE ME DEATH!
If the sort of game appeals you'd probably like the PS ones but yeah I can absolutely see what you mean about Stardust, something about the graphics and sound isn't it?

I haven't heard that Pinball Illusions demo intro in about 30 years and yet it was still *instantly* recognisable.
I've listened to all the DICE pinball intros many, many more times than I've played the games over the years. Dreams' one is background in Aug's YZ.

Did you ever play any of the Playstation ones? They have scrolling!
Nah just the Amiga one. I think the likes of stunt car racer and fire and ice made stardust feel a pd. I'm sure it does have excellent gameplay tho.
