    Had an overcharge issue on my wife's bike. 10 minute "update" at a competent and caring dealer (despite not buying the bike from them) had her back on the road with no issues since. My own X35 bike acted up the next year (Level 1 assist would show on the Pulsar 1 display but never kick-in, then it would show Level 0 again. Just like a laptop, turning the thing off/on would fix it but who wants that at the bottom of a hill?) 10 minute "update" at the same dealer took care of it and all good now. I like these bikes a LOT more than I thought I would!

      Good to hear you got it sorted, but it’s just a shame you can’t do any updates through the app as other e-bikes I’ve had have allowed this. atb Dave 🚲👍

      @@davesolobiker5601 Yep, the X35 needs the GCU for updates. It's built-in with X20 so DIY is easy. Once my GCU cable shows up, when/if one of my X35 bikes has issues I'll be ready. Downloaded update dated 9/24 onto thumb-drive yesterday in-fact.

    I have an Orbea gain, which worked great for over 2 years then one day i connected my app to the bike and got a message Firm Ware needs updating. So I took it to my closest dealer who was brilliant as I didn't buy the bike from him. He did the Firm Ware updated and tested it out and all was fine. I had it back but the next time I charged it I had the purple light flashing again, which disables the bike as I am sure you all have found out. It said I needed to take it to the dealer again. I took it back and he was brilliant again, after a lot of to and fro between him and Orbea and him and Mahle it was decided to reinstall the original Firm Ware then Install the latest firm ware. The dealer said there were four parts to the update but could only do the first 3 due to the bike showing Error code 193. Well Orbea said I need a new battery. However they said they won't warranty it. I am thinking how come the bike worked perfectly before the Firm Ware update. The dealer persisted with Orbea and Mahle, Code 193 is Cell Over Voltage Protection. Mahle looked at the update loaded to my bike and the firm ware was iM2EM121 > iM2EM126 . I think it only shows the error code when it is charged to 100% If you crank the peddles round or ride it to get it to 99% the purple flashing light should go out. I have yet to charge it again. I have also deleted my Mahle app so to try and avoid my bike being immobilised again when another Firm Ware update is brought out. Intrested to see how anyone else has got on.

      It sounds like you have had an utter nightmare , it seems all the trouble is with x35 system . luckily my dealer is miles away and I haven’t had mine updated yet. But after fully charging it flashes purple until I ride it a few yards and it disappears .
      It’s annoying when Mahle keep sending emails about how you can update your bike on the app , only if it’s the x20 as the x35 doesn’t work which is really helpful….not !
      I’m sick of highlighting it in there promotional videos as it falls on deaf ears.
      For the x35 system the app does very little in my opinion, happy riding atb Dave 🚲👍

      I hate that! While I have a GCU on-the-way + the latest update on a thumb-drive I won't fool around with any of my bikes until they have issues. I HAVE updated my X20 bike via the app with no problem. Hoping a future X35 update goes as well. Had the same code 193 issue as you with my latest one - leaving the bike on multiple times drained the battery down to 89%% from 91% (what it showed right outta the box) and the code/flashing lights were gone. Works just fine now. Otherwise both me and my wife LOVE these things! As old-farts now, we fear no climb too steep or ride too long...it's just fun, fun, fun!

    In Poland they bricked the trains, how you can be sure if manufacturers are not doing it to the ebikes? I will not go to the dealer with my levo sl, (mahle) as I doubt they would do any good by applying soft update. I do not trust them. Industry is on the collapse, they will resort to anything, I suppose.

      You could be right , mine still hasn’t been into the shop and I probably won’t either.

    I get the purple flashing light on my Orbea gain when the range extender runs out of battery power. Just switch it off and on again and it’s fine

    Hi Dave. I have the constant flashing purple light all the time now, and it does not disappear at all after taking the Bike down to 96%. Any suggestions on how to fix ?

      Took it to Ribble Blue water. They did the update but did not fix the issue. Said it is either the sensor or the battery. They suggested I clean it and if that doesn't work it may need a new battery. To much hassle in the end will look to sell sadly.

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s really poor customer service , they could have cleaned the battery and tested it with a new one to see if that worked ..

    • @chrisfalconer5274
      @chrisfalconer5274 ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely. They said as it's not in warranty I could contact Mahle. Don't think they wanted the hassle ultimately. Pretty poor when seemingly this is a very common problem when I read online

      I think it's very easy, the motor connecting wire is disconnected or loose..

    I get it occassionally on my Raleigh trace. If I fully chagre the battery it goes awy until battery runs down enough. Avoiding using the app has lowered the occassions also. Annoying as otherwise great bike.

      It comes back each time I charge it , but disappears once I ride it for a few feet 🤷‍♂️ not an ideal way to update a bike as the app should be able to sort it Geordie 😂

    Are you still using the speed derestricting device? Is it probably that causing the 'over voltage' error?

    • @davesolobiker5601
      @davesolobiker5601  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it’s still on , I had the over voltage error months before I fitted the device. it’s a common fault on the X35 motors

      That didn't work for me. Turning the power on over and over (since it turns off when unattended for a few minutes) seemed to discharge the battery to below 90% which some say causes the error code to vanish. In my case that worked, assist works great. All good now :-)
