    Fine review! Just ordered one, but with 2.0 cdti diesel engine. Over all, it's an incredibile value for money!

      Thank you for your comment. I have not driven a diesel variant of the Insignia but can imagine it being an excellent motorway cruiser and very economical too.

      Please let us know how the fuel economy is. I seen reports anything from 32mpg to 44 mpg which is a bit poor to be honest. Autoexpress says on a touring run it should manage 52 mpg. (English miles per gallon and manual gear box)

    Good review! Got a insignia GT myself. Got 17 inch wheels for comfort. And take those splendid agr seats. Its spacious and has a good price compared to vw passat and renault talisman. Drives agile,
    good looks.

    Great review,... had my 2.0 diesel VXLine for 2 years now, the VXLine is a VERY smart looking car. Very good video with well progressed content with all the info you want. Only downside to these cars is the economy, but not too fussed about it. Due another one of these next year where the spec is been improved

    Got one of these, and a lovely car to look and drive, had a few cars in my time but if and when the time comes I will reorder this make and model again, something I have never done before.
    German engineering and manufacture, at a reasonable price.

    Worth pointing out here that the Escort was never up against the Cavalier. The Cavalier was initially a rival to the Cortina, then Sierra followed by the Mondeo, and then the Vectra B took over in 1995.
    The point about the glovebox being a PSA carry over is also incorrect as the Insignia B is a GM design from before the PSA takeover.

    How reliable would it be compared to mazda 6 and skoda superb?

    • @BenzinioB
      @BenzinioB 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      More reliable then Skoda
      Probably less reliable then Mazda
      ... but not sure about the second statement
      I always say the reliability depends on how you use the car and how many option boxes tick at purchase. This insignia is the most hightech in its class and you can spec an Audi/BMW rival in terms of technology, but more things to have means more things to fail at some point and make problems.
      Highly recommend the AGR seat - that for me is a must have option - another best in class, these are one of the comfiest seats I've sat, and Intelilux headlights is another great option.

      It is the B16SHT engine Opel developed in early 2012.
      2018 Insignia got the the Euro 6 version B16SHT which is evolution of the original A16XHT with 170 bhp. This generation of Insignia is the last true German build and really really worth buying. I personally consider it as best in class.
      This engine has nothing in common with shitty Peugeot versions (I believe the engine code of the french is EP6FDT and EP6FDTX. I admit Peugeot has nice 2.0 hdi diesel motors but the range of 1.6 diesel and petrol are one of the shittiest on the market and should be avoided on any price!

    Just brought a Aussie derived version of this badged as a Holden and can’t find another countries version with this spec. Version I got is the wagon hit with all options, but also a 3.6 litre V6 (315hp), 9sp auto and 4wd. I’ve come from a 2015 Passat to this 2019 Holden (insignia) and must admit build quality aside, it’s a decent move foward

    Sorry mate, this engine has nothing in common with Peugeot - it is entirely German!
    In my opinion Insignia B is the prettiest and best in its class. I drove the 2.0 GSI for a while it has lovely sportiness in it while still keep that long distance comfort. Loved it and actually attempt to buy one for myself.

      @AutoBears  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm ...... yes , if you're in a Toyota Corolla sized car perhaps !
      A engine that size in a car that big is just a bit too small really . It must be revving it's proverbial tit's off to carry 4 adults and luggage and do 100km per/hr up a steep hill !!
      In a scenario such as that fuel economy would be atrocious !

      The car is about 200 kilograms lighter then the previous generation, and 200 bhp and 280 NM of torque just above idling speed - not that much ago that amount of torque was 3.0 diesel engine category :) 8 sec to 100 kph is everything else but not underpowered :)

      not really, equivalent Peugeot 508 GTLine sarting price is £2500 more. The current VXLine (B facelift) that you can buy is some £3000 more than the preface on this test due to added standard spec (matrix lights, full leather, massage and heated seats etc) - so was good value for money, and still is.
