As DLC they should do where you can go to Deshima, you know the Japanese island made for the Dutch. On that island you can probably catch lots of kanto, Johto, hoenn and sinnoh pokemon

Though I fully acknowledge that might be expensive, commissioning can get pretty pricey Edit: Have you looked into Dejima? It was an artificial island that the Japanese made for Dutch Trade, idk where that would fit in, but it could be very interesting!
Water and flowers, there should be lots of water and flowers, oh and windmills(probably also football, cause if you have been to the Netherlands at this time, you know dutch people like their football)
Great video! You have inspired to resume work on my own region. I was really only held back by lack of the actual Pokémon designs but i think explaining their concepts is also viable. Small correction, Water Veil already exists as an ability that prevents burn.
I love how much thought and effort went into coming up with this! Hopefully TPC are taking notes :) I personally love pokemon that are based on mythology and folklore. As such, a pokemon based on the bokkenrijders ( buckriders) would be awesome too. The buckriders originate from southern Netherlands/northeastern Belgium and actually the Efteling has a ride based on them. Another one that came to my mind are the wittewieven (white women), which is also both Dutch and Belgian, and would probably be a nice ghost type.
This is awesome, as a dutchie I love a lot of the things you've done here. I would also change a lot of things too. Some of the words you use for the cities aren't fully correct with the translation you gave, but most are there. (Verstand for instance isn't mind, it would be intellect. Mind would be geest in dutch, which is also the word for spirit xD). Also we have desert like locations in the Netherlands. As part of the Veluwe for instance or the "Aekingerzand" on the border of Drente and Friesland. These locations are similar to the dunes by the ocean, but more inland.
I also miss all of the north and east of the Netherlands. Which has so so much to offer. This to me also shows why they shouldn't include Belgium into the base region. I think that it should be the first DLC and the Caribbean should be the second DLC
@@ProfJeffy I mean... them including Belgium in the base game is likely, but this also shows the Netherlands isn't that small to consider as a full region either, since they can give us 12 cities at least, 1 from each provincie. However, i do think they will predominantly use the Randstad and the bigger cities outside the Randstad. Like, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and Delft are given. I personally would include Marken and Giethoorn as well... as well as going to Limburg and include Efteling in it as well and they kinda have to do something with the Deltaworks as well i feel like. For Pokemon inspirations, i would personally also look at other continents/countries, since the Netherlands has been almost everywhere in the past. Like... if we get a Netherlands region, us getting a Nijntje/Miffy inspired Pokemon is basically a given as well, considering Nijntje is huge in Japan. For the starters, i would do a Cow (Based on the Frisian - Grass/Ground), a Wolf (Due to the recent resurface of the wolf in the Netherlands - Fire/Rock) and a Beaver (Based on the Eurasian Beaver (Water/Steel). For the regional bird, it would be a 3-stage pure flying line, based on the Moluccan Swiflet, due to the connection with Indonesia. Have the regional mammal/rodent be the Nijntje inspiration one, which starts of as a Normal type, but becomes Normal/Fairy upon evolution.
The fact that Pokemon game devs actually travel to the places they wanna base a region around, already means they are putting in way more effort then most people. Which is why I love this. So much research has gone into this. I don't want to sound mean so please forgive me if that comes acorss like that, but so many Americans could learn something from that.
Yeah, I agree. I try to make sure I do that with this (since I can’t afford to actually go there). I didn’t wanna go “oh! Netherlands! We just need a bunch of tulip Pokémon then” lol
I appreciate the effort to not be too on-the-nose, but specifically since we don’t have a tulip Pokémon yet, there really SHOULD be a tulip mon in this region. They should do a similar treatment to the Florges, Vivillon, and Minior lines where there’s many color variants to collect. Tulipomania sas HUGE
Absolutely. That was my thought process. There should be SOMETHING acknowledging big staples (like Van Gogh and tulips) but that shouldn’t be the whole region. I think my process was similar to Galar where they did have a lot of on the nose references with Polteageist, Weezing, and a few others but PLENTY of deep cuts too
i actually like the idea, very original. would love to actually see this in a pokemon game, though i don't think nintendo would do something like this very quickly.
Yeah, i als think they would include Belgium. Like you said, Netherlands is small, but in the last 2 gens, they actually included multiple countries in one region Galar gave us England and Scotland Paldea gave us Portugal and Spain Now, i do think a Netherlands region would not only include Belgium, but Luxembourg as well, to cover the entire Benelux area. Minus points for not include Pokemon Orange as a possible title, considering Orange is the national color of the Netherlands - but hey, maybe that can be a title for a future Legends game in this region. Lumi, you not speaking Dutch doesn't matter. We know our languague is hard and even if you pronounce something wrong, we won't make fun of you, since we are already happy you tried it anyways. I love your chooses for a starter, although i am not very happy with the Grass/Dark type combo, since it means we get them back-to-back. I understand you try to avoid Poison type on it as well, as it then would become to similair to the Skuntank line. Woodborstel - You prounounced Borstel 100% correctly. I couldn't even hear any American accent. Vijlen lol... its forgiven... the place with IJ are very hard to prounounce for non-native Dutch speakers. For Tularge line, i would personally eliminate the yellow coloration in favor of Green. For Wereld City, you can even make a storyline based on the creation of HM/TM/TR's, since CD's are a Dutch invention as well. Ijzer City Gym Leader should be named Anton (Since Anton Pieck was the main designer for Efteling from the start). It should also be a Fairy gym leader imo, considering Efteling is Fairy Tale Themed. Kanvasian Smeargle should have Orange tail instead of Green to reference Vincent Van Gogh being a redhead. Interesting you skipped over Delft and The Hague. Next one should be Australia honestly, due to the Netherlands connection with Australia. This is way better than Gamefreak probably will come up with, since i feel like if they are going to do cities, they are probably only gonna include the majority of the bigger ones (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague as a beach area with Scheveningen), Delft, Eindhoven, Utrecht, which would be a shame. I personally would love for them to do Rotterdam, Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht. Then go to Limburg (Make it fairy themed due to Efteling). Include Kinderdijk and Giethoorn, but also the Deltaworks. Take a smaller town like Marken (Star-Shaped town is interesting). For Belgium, Liege/Antwerp/Brussels. For Gym Leaders, i would put one in either Rotterdam or Amsterdam (But not Both). Have one in Eindhoven or Utrecht (But not both). Have one GL in a Belgium town (Brussels) For Gym Leader types Kinderdijk would have the Flying Gym Leader Giethoorn would have Water Brussels would have Grass Deltaworks would have a Gym Leader as well, make it Electric Steel for Eindhoven Limburg/Efteling for Fairy Amsterdam would have Dark Marken would have Psychic Then for the Elite 4, we can base them on Famous People from the Netherlands and Belgium, with the Champion being based on van Gogh Fighting Type - Jean-Claude van Damme Normal type - Johan Cruyff
Yeah, and I am a lot more negative then you, if I am going to be honest. It was weird as a Dutchy not seeing; - Rotterdam (the port city of Europe and one of the largest in the words, have a lot of influence in the region), - similar to Den Haag/The Hague being the internatial court of Justice, - Delft for Delftsblauw and it being one of the oldest cities, - The first Mosasaurus fossil being found near Maastricht, - Pony Park Slagharen, - Groningen and drilling for gas, - Deltaworks focus from Zeeland and how we created Flevoland, - nothing about our monarchy, the family of Orange and our history with stadhouders, kings etc. - Nothing about our connection to Spain (paldea), the 80 year war etc. - or Napoleon and France (Kalos), - the UK (Galar) and how we got a king from there, our goverment fleeing there in WW2, we technically had a period where not britannia but Holland rules the sea etc. - and then Germany and the germanic shared history. I understood the focus put on Van Gogh and art, and that you have a lot of things you need to cut in a region, but then I think you upset every Dutch person by including Belgium, and every Belgium citizen to include The Netherlands. Not to mention the focus on art and Van Gogh is alright, but we have a lot more that we are known for. Being the second/third producer in the world for agricultural products like exports of meat. Famous for tullips, windmills, cheese, delfsblauw, clogs and the Deltaworks. Really upset our civil engineering knowledge about water engineering and our combat against water not being a big thing in the region. With us having suffered multiple floods, like the famous 1953 flood. I mean they are marvels of protecting us from the ocean, while maintaining a proper ecosystem. And what about our aspect of knowledge? Sure we are a tax haven, but are (although declining a bit) a knowledge haven for foreign students to study and have a proud history of many inventions like the first concept of vaccins and cowpoks or the discovery of bacteria and what eventually created the microscope. Among other inventions. I get the theme, and if LumiosePost reads this, I am sorry, but I would be really dissapointed if this is how my home nation would be represented in a pokemon game. I already got dissapointed with how dirty the pokemon company has done Spain and Portugal with the Paldea region. But I am not really a fan of this. But I will give credits where they are earned, you did do some research. Often when I hear foreigners talk about the Netherlands, they talk about Amsterdam. LumiosePost however did not fall into that pittrap and found some niche parts. I did especially like the pokemon based on certain parts of animals, flowers etc. native to the Netherlands, that was great. And quite good, but the overworld and cultural aspect I find to have been very dissapointing.
@@BrotherHood-xh9sg I mean... i understand your reasoning. I mean... in terms of what Pokemon/places could be included Amsterdam/Rotterdam probably get combined in a Netherlands Region from Gamefreak Delft needs to be included for sure Would be odd not getting an Eindhoven/Veldhoven combination either. We need a seaside town, as we have those in every region... so i am gonna said lets travel to Zeeland and include Cadzand as that town, maybe they can even make that the starting town, where you get the three starters - A Grass type wolf (Based on the Eurasian Wolf), Fire type Cow (Based on the Frisian) and a Beaver (Based on the Eurasian Beaver). Deltaworks can be the first focus/gym leader - Water or electric type Amsterdam/Rotterdam second gym leader - Normal type with Lopunny as the ace (Reasoning should be clear lol). Eindhoven/Veldhoven should have Electric or Psychic gym leader Kinderdijk gym leader - flying type Obviously, we should get Pokemon that relate to the Netherlands Like, our regional fish should be the Herring Regional rodent/Mammal a Normal/Fairy type based on Nijntje (Nijntje a big thing in Japan) Delft Blue version of Polteageist or a rival mon based on it Water type based on a submarine Fire Hose Pokemon Regional form for Smeargle Regional form for Florges/Roserade based on Tulip. Legendary/Mythical based on the Flying Dutchman myth. Heck, considering we already kinda have the color scheme for them, Bug/Fairy type evolutions for Volbeat and Illumie, based on Pardoes and Pardijn from Efteling.
10 points for Tulitl and Tularge, those names are amazing! A Tulate would fit very well cause Dutchy´s are very punctual. I would love a Mososaurus fossil since it was discoverd in the Neatherlands. And if it will be a region here (Dutch myself) there must be a regional miltank indeed, would go so far as giving it more like with tauros. And maby a dark type rapidash based on a friesian horse. I think you did a great job with a region based on my country thnx! But... sorry Dutch directness coming in I can´t help it I swear.. Schoonheid is the Dutch word for beauty, Fraaiheid is Friesian a language spoken in Friesland a part of the Neatherlands.
I just thought about another potential concept they can do and that is having another Oricorio form based on the Traditonal clog dancing, with the Oricorio wearing clogs instead of having a wing attribute. I feel like Clogs should be represented. And we Dutchies are often called cheeseheads, so a regional form for the Lotad line where they replace the lilypad with the chees.
Honestly, the idea of a region based on the Netherlands didn't excite me, mainly because I wanted the next generation to be inspired by a place outside of Europe, like India, China, Australia, it would be great, but with this explanation added to the concepts for Pokémon I must say that if it turns out to be the Netherlands and the pokedex is at least half as you describe it, I will be satisfied
Yes-that’s the plan! Planned to do it this past week but kept having more urgent things pop up-I’ll do it soon, and will make a community post when it’s been done!
Nice well made region, like how much thought was put in it. Just 1 tip, when i and j are put together as ij, its pronounced as y, so it would be kinderdyk.
@@lumiosepost thanks! You ever been here? Your pronunciations were really off but that’s no shame honestly 🤣 Your ideas are amazing especially the pokemon, really cool, this should be real!

Just unfamiliar with Netherlands-should’ve done more research and just simply dropped the ball. This was my first “fakemon region video” and I still had lots to learn. I think I did a much better job with my Australia region!
Did you name these Pokémon? Because I don’t see how you missed the opportunity to pronounce Filedges name as fill-edge like fillet. The etymology seems intentional while you’re just out of the loop.
@@lumiosepost I wanna say thank you and your podcast for being a great source of information and inspiration. I’ve been diving deep into lores and it’s been a blast!
Not a Netherlands expert. Sorry I dropped the ball there! Took a different approach when planning this region but I’m learning from it. This is the first one after all!
Giethoorn inspiration is there, which is North-East. Like, you cannot have it all. Lumi included Belgium, which meant a Randstad/Southern approach was more fitting in this concept, unless you start all the way north and work your way south. The problem also is that the most interesting spaces with the most significance are in the Western and Southern parts of the Netherlands as well. Like, this is a fan concept and Lumi actually tried his hardest to have some variation, but if we actually get a Netherlands region, i am 100% convinced Gamefreak is 100% gonna ignore North and East as well and is gonna delve more into the bigger cities than Lumi has done. With Gamefreak doing this, Rotterdam, Amsterdam and the Hague are basically a given. I feel like us getting Delft is also a given. Then Eindhoven and Utrecht. However, just like Lumi, i can actually see them draw inspiration from Efteling as well.
@@nickdentoom1173 well I respectfully disagree. There are a whole lot of iconic and interesting places in the northern region. As for the cities, you don't need to make all the Randstad cities sperately, it could be one big city with different districts. The South and the Randstad are not one region at all and the north and south are literally equally far away from the Randstad region. The Northern part of the Netherlands is very diverse and interesting: you have the Wadden Islands, you have the eleven Frisian cities, the Frisian lakes, the City of Leeuwarden which still has just as many inhabitants as Delft and also has an important history regarding the formation of the Netherlands and the Royalty, than there is the obvious link to internationally renowned Frisian horses, there are the sailing contests which are broadcasted through the province and attended by people from the North AND randstad, and that is just Frisia. Than you go to Groningen and you have an enormous city and literally the student city of the Netherlands (not the most students, but the highest student/other ratio) which has twice the inhabitants of Leeuwarden/Delft, the Martini Tower and a reserve for seals and the most beautiful village in the Netherlands (Windsum, ideal starting town). Drenthe has hûnnebedden and the Veluw wildlife reserve. Than if you look to the south Limburg has hills and mines, fossils and old towns, Brabant has the Biesbos and lots of forests. You forget whole pokemon regions are based on countries like the USA and France, these are countries x times the size of the Netherlands, why would you not draw inspiration from other parts of the Netherlands if there is so much choice? There is no point in condensing the small area of the Netherlands even more. I think you could fuse the Northern provinces, fuse the Randstad and than finally the South as an area. Use the Wadden Eilanden for something interesting (maybe a hiding place for legendary pokemon or a reclusive town with a gym). I think there is just a lot more to put inspiration from. I don't discredit the man's work, I am just voicing my personal opinion. It's fine if you disagree.
Dear LumiosePost, This will be a long comment and I am going to be very brutal on this, I am heavly dissapointed in this region. To start off, and give credit where it is due, I do like your thinking about the pokemon ideas. The native animals or aspects were quite on point, especially if you account for existing pokemon (like beavers, ducks, wolfs etc.), although I missed the mosasaurus and a proper Lion pokemon. But why I am dissapointed if this would be how the Netherlands represented as a region, is in two factors; - Culture - Joint region flaw The problem with join regions is simple, it ruins the region and how it represents the real world counterpart. Paldea & Galar being obvious examples of horrible regions that fail to represent their IRL counterparts, and part of the region is making it too big by joining multiple countries together. This big mistake creates more problems in the other issue of culture. Culture: You really failed to represent the Dutch culture in this game. I get that you wanted to focus on art and Van Gogh, but this is a really small part of our culture. Incredibly small. He would have functioned a lot better a gym leader, a NPC you meet in Amsterdam where you would find an art museum mix of all types of art, like Van Gogh etc. and have him be an Elite 4 member. Or just an interesting sight for you to explore a part of dutch culture, learn some things about this art past, get a smeargle egg from a currator after beating and removing some climate protestors after they threw paint over the paintings. Because we missed out on a lot of Dutch Culture. Mainly our combat against water, with our dams, civil engineering and water engineering that protects us from the sea and keeps the ecology in tact. How we literally created Flevoland in two parts and did this while keeping the enviroment in tact. Our history of floods with 1953 being the most notorious. Other aspects of us being basically split in two regions, in a small part in the west with have Holland, the more industrious, heavly populated and city centrum of the Netherlands, and the rest of the Netherlands being more rural. Where we mostly obtain our title of being in the top 3 of largest argricultural exporters with our farmers. And our recent issues with farmers and climate change. Delft being a historical city and the origin of Delfsblauw. But also the TU Delft, a large technical university. Rotterdam as a port city. Being the biggest port in Europe and one of the biggest in the world. The Hague being the international Court Centrum of the world. Nothing about our connection with spain (paldea), our connection with France/Napoleon (Kalos), England (Galar) and Germany. Nothing about our history of religious freedom and historical fight for it that in part split up the Netherlands and Belgium because of internal relgious issues, Being a mayor gay rights activist country (altough some aren't happy today and say we should go further, but let's not get to political and how they are wrong). How our goverment handles issues, the influence of the EU and the aftermath of the second world war and how that shaped us. Nothing about our climate (a lot of rain), and the issues we face with floods of inland waterways like rivers due to the creation of polders, irrigation, canals etc. Nothing about our sports beyond football, like Max Verstappe and Formula 1, Handball, Ice Skating, Hockey, Cycling etc. Or our methods of transportation, having one of the best public transportation systems with trains and metro's, having on average 2 bycilces for every citizen, or how Schiphol Airport is a marvel of interconnectivity for transportation. And then we haven't talked about migration and how big of an inpact that had and has on our small country. The problems in certain migrant groups being the highest perpetrators of crimes and problem youth. But also for example how we had immigrated a lot of Mollukers after de-colonisation and they fought on our side, so they had to flee their home nation to the Netherlands. The aftermath of that colonisation era, the Golden era for the Netherlands, our merchant and naval history etc. And then I am not even talking about Groningen and drilling for gas, how that shaped and funded our socialist policies and how now we are facing a crisis as we can't afford those policies, Friesland and the slow death of their unique language (yes, language, not accents) and so much more. I really think you limited yourself too much with the art focus, and at the same time took on to much by adding Belgium to it. Belgium also having a lot to speak for being the EU political centrum in Brussel, created by England/UK as a buffer state, being invaded twice in the world wars, it being very fractured in multiple regions with unique cultures, languages and connections to other countries, etc.
I appreciate the feedback! Sorry you didn’t enjoy it-I definitely had a lot to learn from this but think i improved between this and the Australia region I tackled later :)
Gen 10 is next year lol not far out at all. With how far 2023 flew by we’ll be in 2025 in no time. Also Generation 10 should really be Australia or Egyptian based. We need far out from the normal. Also scarlet and violet are not Egyptian themed at all?
"Netherlands is pretty small" Yeah, but we all know how Paldea was a horrible region. It had no substance. That is the issue here. If you actually look at the Netherlands, you have a lot of things to talk about. Not to mention some of the issues starting around the 80 year war between Netherlands and Belgium that only in the recent decades got kinda fixed.

i actually like the idea, very original. would love to actually see this in a pokemon game, though i don't think nintendo would do something like this very quickly.
I am Dutch!
I could have helped!
I am already working on a Netherlands region myself, named Nenal
most of it is already thought of
Wow this was a cool regional video! We have 2 years left until we see Generation 10 gets revealed!!!
Yeah, i als think they would include Belgium. Like you said, Netherlands is small, but in the last 2 gens, they actually included multiple countries in one region
Galar gave us England and Scotland
Paldea gave us Portugal and Spain
Now, i do think a Netherlands region would not only include Belgium, but Luxembourg as well, to cover the entire Benelux area.
Have one GL in a Belgium town (Brussels)
For Gym Leader types
Kinderdijk would have the Flying Gym Leader
Giethoorn would have Water
Brussels would have Grass
Deltaworks would have a Gym Leader as well, make it Electric
Steel for Eindhoven
Limburg/Efteling for Fairy
Amsterdam would have Dark
Marken would have Psychic
Then for the Elite 4, we can base them on Famous People from the Netherlands and Belgium, with the Champion being based on van Gogh
Fighting Type - Jean-Claude van Damme
Normal type - Johan Cruyff
Yeah, and I am a lot more negative then you, if I am going to be honest. It was weird as a Dutchy not seeing;
- Rotterdam (the port city of Europe and one of the largest in the words, have a lot of influence in the region),
- similar to Den Haag/The Hague being the internatial court of Justice,
- Delft for Delftsblauw and it being one of the oldest cities,
- The first Mosasaurus fossil being found near Maastricht,
- Pony Park Slagharen,
- Groningen and drilling for gas,
- Deltaworks focus from Zeeland and how we created Flevoland,
- nothing about our monarchy, the family of Orange and our history with stadhouders, kings etc.
- Nothing about our connection to Spain (paldea), the 80 year war etc.
- or Napoleon and France (Kalos),
- the UK (Galar) and how we got a king from there, our goverment fleeing there in WW2, we technically had a period where not britannia but Holland rules the sea etc.
I mean... in terms of what Pokemon/places could be included
Amsterdam/Rotterdam probably get combined in a Netherlands Region from Gamefreak
Delft needs to be included for sure
Would be odd not getting an Eindhoven/Veldhoven combination either.
Deltaworks can be the first focus/gym leader - Water or electric type
Amsterdam/Rotterdam second gym leader - Normal type with Lopunny as the ace (Reasoning should be clear lol).
Eindhoven/Veldhoven should have Electric or Psychic gym leader
Kinderdijk gym leader - flying type
Obviously, we should get Pokemon that relate to the Netherlands
Like, our regional fish should be the Herring
Regional rodent/Mammal a Normal/Fairy type based on Nijntje (Nijntje a big thing in Japan)
Delft Blue version of Polteageist or a rival mon based on it
Water type based on a submarine
Fire Hose Pokemon
Regional form for Smeargle
Regional form for Florges/Roserade based on Tulip.
I'm making a region called the della region based on the Philippines 😊 I've been working on it for 5 - 7 years;)
You should make a fan game with those fakemon
Most likely places for Gen 10 in my opinion: India, China, Australia, Egypt, Guyana, another part of Japan, and finally the Netherlands.
Hey great videos, are you going to release your paradox podcasts on spotify?
Yes-that’s the plan! Planned to do it this past week but kept having more urgent things pop up-I’ll do it soon, and will make a community post when it’s been done!
Nintendo Direct February 15 2024
I'm more in line with the Netherlands and Italy more and more. Africa would be peak too.
Nice well made region, like how much thought was put in it. Just 1 tip, when i and j are put together as ij, its pronounced as y, so it would be kinderdyk.
Thank you! And I appreciate the feedback. This is a tough language LOL
I’m from the Netherlands, happy to see my country represented :D
It’s a BEAUTIFUL COUNTRY
@@lumiosepost thanks! You ever been here?
Your pronunciations were really off but that’s no shame honestly 🤣
Your ideas are amazing especially the pokemon, really cool, this should be real!
I haven’t! I’ve actually never even been outside of the US 😩 but the places I saw while researching for this were all stunning (I mean, and even before this, everyone knows Dutch tulip fields are iconic). Giethoorn is prob my favorite place I saw but there’s so much.
I did figure my pronunciations were WAYYY off 😂😅 I tried learning one word-can’t remember which one and I could not get it to save my life 😂
@@lumiosepost Come visit the Netherland someday! You can simultaneously visit belgium, luxemburg, france and germany. Transport is pretty neat here. You can take a train from Rotterdam to Paris, Bruxelles and even to germany.
Also, your pronunciation for “Poffertjes” was quite close!
Pokémon Game
Starter Pokémon
Johto Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver
Ethan and Lyra only (Pokémon HeartGold and Pokémon SoulSilver only) Marill
Hoenn Pokémon Ruby, Pokémon Sapphire, Pokémon Emerald, Pokémon Omega Ruby, and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire,
Rival Wally only (acquired with one of Norman's Pokemon) Ralts
2D Pokémon Black and White 1 & 2
3D Pokémon Black and White 3
This is soooo clever I love it
Thank you! 💙
amsterdam but u cant access the city center at night
I’m assuming this is a reference I don’t understand lol
Very cool 😎I like that. I hope that becomes real
The dog one will be my starter.
I wish that pseudo legendary line was real 😫
I would like to see them do Canadian region
The water WHAT pokemon? 😂
Loved this
Can I ask why you skipped over the North of the Netherlands? You stayed in Limburg for very long and never once visited Overijssel, Drenthe, Groningen or Friesland.
Aside from that I like this video.
It’s actually really bad because that was the intention and I just mispronounced my own invention 😩
@@lumiosepost okay, glad to hear it. It’s a pretty cool name!
Unrelated I know but isn’t it implied that gimmeghoul is the king of paldea. Stemming from the story of king Midas?
I hadn’t heard that but if nothing else, it’s a neat theory!
@@lumiosepost I wanna say thank you and your podcast for being a great source of information and inspiration. I’ve been diving deep into lores and it’s been a blast!
Why did you base nothing of of the northern part of the Netherlands or the 'Randstad' area. It's all south Netherland
Manticores are from Persian Mythology, not from Greek/Roman Mythology. But that's not a problem.
Honestly this is really cool I love this wish this was real.
I would go with princecub
Dear LumiosePost,
This will be a long comment and I am going to be very brutal on this, I am heavly dissapointed in this region. To start off, and give credit where it is due, I do like your thinking about the pokemon ideas. The native animals or aspects were quite on point, especially if you account for existing pokemon (like beavers, ducks, wolfs etc.), although I missed the mosasaurus and a proper Lion pokemon.
But why I am dissapointed if this would be how the Netherlands represented as a region, is in two factors;
- Culture
- Joint region flaw
The problem with join regions is simple, it ruins the region and how it represents the real world counterpart. Paldea & Galar being obvious examples of horrible regions that fail to represent their IRL counterparts, and part of the region is making it too big by joining multiple countries together. This big mistake creates more problems in the other issue of culture.
Culture:
You really failed to represent the Dutch culture in this game.
Pokémon new type beast
Gen 10 is next year lol not far out at all. With how far 2023 flew by we’ll be in 2025 in no time.
Also Generation 10 should really be Australia or Egyptian based. We need far out from the normal.
Also scarlet and violet are not Egyptian themed at all?
You misunderstand. They are not Egyptian themed. But have Egyptian themes. And they absolutely do!
Pokémon Gen 10 2025
🔥 🔥
NO MORE DEX CUT IN ALL THE FUTURE POKEMON GAMES!
We need an africa, australia or south america region
Belgium Luxembourg some near parts of Germany and other nations
what about calling the cat evolution purrsion or purrsian instead of persian, would make it a bit more cat like.
"Netherlands is pretty small"
Yeah, but we all know how Paldea was a horrible region. It had no substance. That is the issue here. If you actually look at the Netherlands, you have a lot of things to talk about. Not to mention some of the issues starting around the 80 year war between Netherlands and Belgium that only in the recent decades got kinda fixed.
Im dutch so yipi
I'm tired of just being in Asia North America Europe I want to go to South America I want to go to Africa Oceania for Africa I expect the North African maybe Egypt
no it isnt smal we have 18.000000 humans
Compared to the US’ 333 million, England’s 56 million, or Japan’s 125 million, I’d be inclined to say that, yes, it is small.
:/ going back to Europe I want to go to Africa
