The fact that duncan is saying all this while dressed like oscar the grouch + joe in a space suit burning sage + me being really high rn i am beginning to skeptically question my reality
Yeah, my grandmas husband died a couple months ago of natural causes. Hospice gave her this end of life pamphlet which talked about the death process. It said that as the body begins its death process, the human starts sleeping more and more because they're making peace with death subconsciously, and beginning their transition into new life. The human starts speaking less and less, looking at technology less and less, because it no longer has meaning to them. It said that "hallucinations" are common. My grandma's husband saw a man come into his room, turn on the light, and then leave the room. When he left the room, the light turned off. He shared this with my grandma in a matter-of-fact way, and not in a startled way. I find death fascinating. I feel as my connection to Spirit and all that is gets deeper, i also find less meaning in speaking & looking at devices and such. I'm perfectly content sitting quietly in a garden.
My Godmother close to her death said a man in black used to come visit her and asked her if she was ready to go. She kept telling him not yet so he would leave and come back the next day and ask her the same question. He told her she would have to go soon.
Honestly. I’ve had super close brushes with death since a very early age. I’m 24 and I enjoy the simplest parts of life itself. Reading books and manga. Less worldly than many others in my age group. It’s just the cold hard reality that it can come at any moment and I’m ok with that. All the social games become pointless. I still enjoy my toys and techs but I don’t live for them
I’ve been through almost certain death. It’s not that bad. You just think of your favorite moments with the people you truly loved and let go of everything else.
If someone was born and raised in a white room and never saw colours, space or nature, then was given dmt, would they still see colours and stars or whatever weird stuff people see on dmt? Or a blind person, that’s probably a more realistic situation
When you say "Raised". What do you mean? Other people still there feeding, nurturing & keeping them alive? Because in that case, the subject will see objects, hear noise/communication & color from the human feeding him.
There is a form of torture called white torture. The individual starts to lose sanity. It would be interesting to see if the same effect would take place if thats all the individual ever knew. Horrific though.
I would say yes to the colors for sure. Just because they haven't seen them doesn't mean their retina's stopped being able to see them. I'd wager they would hallucinate shapes that could be considered stars as well.
“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass God is waiting for you” Werner Heisenberg
My mom's in hospice right now with brain cancer, and I do recognize a lot of what Duncan is saying. Talking to people who have already died and not being sure if it was a dream or real etc.
EP114587 do you believe yourself to be some sort of comment hero? As a third party outside viewer you’re right about some jokes being overused i can tell you are irritated by it but man commenting on everything is gonna do nothing but make you look stupid. Hope your eyes have been opened to a new perspective
I think the answer is that he could imagine it. He just never imagined that he could - if that makes sense? But I have no idea what I'm talking about. Never tried DMT so I can only blindly guess at what happens. But the brain is a freaky and powerful thing. Introduce some chemical stimulus and shit starts getting weird.
Yeah, that's a freaky theory. We're just putting on a vr headset for five minutes of our "real" time, experience this as life, only to "die" and see our friends laughing at us. Meanwhile, the whole thing is on a monitor for them to watch. Nofap sounds pretty good about now, lol.
The things Duncan talks about, I’ve actually thought about. I realized, what makes me think this is the first time I’ve lived. What if my soul was somewhere else before me, and the only things that I kept from a past life where not memories but my 6th sense, and the feeling that there’s something more, but never knowing what it is.
Consider this metaphor. Your body is a fridge, and your soul is the stuff inside. Now after a certain period of time the fridge gets old and fails. But what of the food inside? Its not like that is thrown away once the fridge is dead? No. A sane man would just get another fridge. So it is with souls. Where the metaphor fails is in the part that souls in fact grow and mature, and apparently it takes over 1000 incarnations to even begin thinking of this kinda stuff.
Exactly. From a very young age I started having "heady" thoughts but I never thought of them as such. They continued throughout my life as did the awareness that many people have thought, wrote and spoken about such things. It is the "THE". I feel incredibly blessed for knowing what I chose to be here for.

Imagine if in the future we could scientifically concur exactly what bodies and lives you’ve lived in in the past and when you’re close to death, exactly what body you would go into. You would be able to write messages to yourself and try to link your experiences
All experiences of Life is the gift, Ultimately leading to eternity. No one man on Earth could even think of eternity, but surely there are realms that we can tap into. Be careful not to be consumed by it's alure of endless possibilities, but until our last breath will we surely know varies with experiences
While my dad was dying he was tripping the eff out about submarines. He was stationed in Alaska and served after Vietnam. I don’t know what he ever went through but he was there in his mind.
Here's the thing; if you've ever been knocked out either medically or physically, you only realize it happened just because you woke up from it and your mind tells you so. When you die you don't wake up so you don't know that you're dead, you're just dead. I've worked in assisted living for about 8 years and the old who live that long to die naturally; they lose all sense of present time and who they are. I think this is just the body's way of preparing you for death without creating a panic attack.
I play music for a living was at a gig and I felt bad nauseous. Last thing I remember was walking back from throwing up and lights out! The EMT's said my heart wasn't pumping blood through my body my wife told me I was blue. and it's just like your saying nothing. I'm hoping it's because I was still alive, but it worries me to think about...
Your body has no reason to prepare you for death this way. Natural selection doesn’t care if you die fully conscious and in terror; your work from an evolutionary perspective has long been completed. If anything, the fact people don’t tend to die in terror leans more towards non-atheistic arguments.
I wonder how many of us think oh he’s not qualified to speak on this it’s just a silly man in a ghillie suit....but then by doing that we’ve already applied every man-made concept to something outside of those parameters, like who is qualified? I just wish some people when an idea rushes to their head that they need to express, catch themselves in the moment and really think about said thing in head, really give it your fullest attention, break it down piece by piece munitions it’s at its simplest form and this helps to bring clarity and calm. I was always one to open my mouth before thinking and I can say practicing this has made me a better person. And practising being calm and composed is another really good mindset to strive towards. Peace guys 🙏🏻
There was a study for can quantum mechanics predict a soul, what I gathered was that firstly, we have a soul/(or conscious) that is separate from our matter, but also that it is quite possible that the soul is in a state that is unaffected by time. It talks about the future prediction the present, possibility of our soul being present in all of time because it resides outside of time
Chills...when I was younger one of my grandparents on my stepfather's side had many forms of cancer. We were in the room with him and we thought he was sleeping and out of nowhere he started folding the blanket with his eyes closed until it looked like he was holding playing cards. Come to find out (which I didn't know at the time) he was super into poker when he was younger 😳 maybe he was doing what Duncan was talking about.
Has anyone besides me actually stood around and became amazed at the fact that you are actually human, in this present time, interacting with other humans.
I'm an atheist and I love psychedelics. They have a LOT of health benefits if you use them responsibly, and the last time I did shrooms, I literally cried tears of joy because of how beautiful I realized my life is. I have never been happier. And this is coming from an actively suicidal person, I had been that way since I was seven, but ever since that shroom trip, I've never been happier. I have been able to get through so much stress and trauma because of that, and I've been doing a LOT of good for my life ever since. Psychedelics are awesome, and I believe that they should be legal in controlled environments (shroom therapy sessions, etc.)
@@jorgelechuga4502 no, I did it in my house with my brother and his girlfriend. The time I did acid I was at my house too, but I was the only one tripping. And the only other time I did acid was at a friend's house. We stayed in his room the whole time except for when we needed to use the bathroom or get water. And when I was tripping on shrooms, we went outside at night and walked around. It really doesn't matter where you do it, what matters is maturity and how comfortable you are. Because if you do psychedelics at something like some house party you're probably gonna have a really bad trip. But at the same time, please take that with a grain of salt, everyone is different and everyone experiences it differently.

Swamp creature Duncan is my favorite form
The more I listen to Duncan the more I realize he crushes it.
Joe “You can never really die if you have DMT” Rogan
LMFAO 😝 love it
I sincerely love Duncan Trussel
And when you do psychedelics you see things you can't describe and only lead to one thing, that the soul is eternal. So what's your point exactly?
Best episode of Newsradio ever.
Great discussion!
DMT and mushroom took me from Atheism to “the truth is something so much stranger than we can ever understand with our 3 dimensional mind.” 🤯😂😅
hand over that hiney
Hell yeah, man.
Duncan is basically the non-evil version of Charles Manson
MetalShredMaddNESS 😂
Nothing like playing Skyrim all day in quarantine. And watching cool Joe Rogan clips during toilet and food breaks 👌

Do you take them in a room with music or? Like where should I take those?
Joe’s threshold for “facts” and evidence is pretty funny.
Just to add to the lore of this podcast, Duncan’s bday is 4/20... idk thought I’d throw it out there
Which Duncan interview was this?
Anybody else experience multiple futures and pasts rushing through their mind while high on edibles? Like a “waking dream” from the book Dune
Duncan is my favorite jre guest.
Next time round I'm taking the blue pill. Red pill sucks. Just so you know.
