    Thanks Asad, what is the software used to do the calculations? I understand a damaged Thermowell can damage equipment downstream as well as, understandably other major issues

    Superb information.. thanks...I have questions about thermowell ..how to select stright, tappered,step type and shap size and insertions lenth .any more calculation in thermowell.??? Interviewers akses calculetion of thermowell.

    Hi my Taper ratio is 0.65 is that ok... Because in my past project they are following 32/21

      Most welcome 😃.
      Good question !!
      One of the basis to decide this is the client Design basis.
      However, in our industry the most widely used thermowell is tapered TWs.
      Like a similar example is that of thermowell connection, usually we have flanged thermowell but for certain special cases we could go for welded design but this depends on client preference.
      This is as per best of my current understanding.
      Hope some engineers can shed more light on to this subject 🙂
