    The deep woods ain't a place to be unarmed. Neither is the city....

      Very true. Probably more dangerous in the city at nights but in Utah the majority of people have weapons on them. We recognize our right to constituently carry and Utah is a very very polite and kind society.
      When we go on adventures into the mountains I usually bring my 10mm Kriss Vector in 10mm pistol version or 10mm Glock pistol. We have Bears and cougars/mountain lions a lot of rattle snakes too! (not that a gun helps with the rattle snakes much.). When a bear charges at you or a mountain lion is attacking your kid because he was a little far behind you better be packing a weapon much better than a knife.
      All of this and Id be more worried about one of my children walking down the big city streets at night verses the woods. Stay protected and armed.

    When MY daughter moved 1100 miles away, we took her pistol (and some ammo). I asked her to load it before I left to come back home. "I will, just not right now.".
    Within two weeks someone knocked on her door, claiming to be from the cable company. Sent to hook-up her internet. (Internet was "up and running" before I left her)
    When they wouldn't leave, she blocked the door with her foot, and cracked the door open enough to point her pistol at the guy. Suddenly, he didn't"need" to be there!
    Then, she shut and locked the door, and LOADED her pistol. Having a loaded pistol available isn't an option, anymore! Never really was.

My husband is a Disabled Veteran and in Arkansas the license plate is the same as a disabled plate with the wheelchair on it when someone has mobility disabilities. I tried to explain it to her but she was carrying on like a crazy woman and she said she was reporting me so I said go ahead. Yes people are nuts out there these days. In my neck of the woods, the transients/homeless/drug addicts/mental issue people have more protected rights than law abiding citizens. Even when they're known problem makers and offenders the police say there's nothing they can do about it. Recently the police came out to check on a problem with one on my property and 2 am. The 911 operator asked if I was armed, I said yes and she informed me that I'd have to take it off and store it before the officer arrived for his safety......... Needless to say I didn't and the officer never mentioned it even though it was plainly displayed on my hip.
    In the end the officer said "not sure why you called, nothing I can do about it. The elected officials have my hands tied." I live on three acres down a private road, if anyone shows up without an invite, especially at 2 am, they're not here to sell me siding or a magazine subscription.....

The others fluff up their programs with tons of books and training stuff but limit the attorney fees they will pay for. CCW safe covers everything including civil suits, and also appeals. I understand....when I left my native Tampa, Florida back in 2011, I headed out west always wanting to see the beautiful mountain ranges and I did. The difference for me was, my mom and dad had passed and all I had was my Father in heaven guiding me the whole way and He did so. You can only do so much for your children. My mother would have not been able to sleep if I had left her while she was still alive, so I stayed with her until the end. Then, out of fear, I stayed an additional 12 years in Florida thinking, "oh well, I've lived here most of my life, I might as well just make the best of it" WRONG. I chose to remain in my fake comfort zone for an additional 12 years after my mom-best friend passed. I do feel everything is divinely timed but if I had it to do all over again, I would have left my comfort zone/prison cell way before 12 years. I was scared but I had to get to the point of being way fed UP and not having anything to lose if I left and so, I did. Did I have challenges? Hell yes. Do I have any regrets about leaving? NO. I did what I felt was right for me. I left my old life behind but please know that when you decide to leave your old life behind, you bring part of it with you when you leave. You still have soul stuff to unload and I still am but now, I SEE it and pray more to God. It helps when you have some life experience behind you and hard lessons learned, then when more hard lessons come, you're not " thrown off the horse"...you stay on the horse and keep riding. This is now where I am. God Bless all in their journeys.

    My daughter is legal to carry and can take care of herself, even without a gun. I put her and my wife through martial arts training about 15 years ago. She's had to use her skills to ward off a pervert who stuck a beer bottle into her privates. She grabbed his arm and spun him around and planted his face into the table then leaned in and whispered in his ear, "all it takes is 4 pounds of pressure right here, while she was placing pressure on his arm, to snap it in two. You do it again and I won't hesitate to break it in half." She let him go and continued working as a waitress at the bar. The guy who was embarrassed went to the owner and complained about her. Her boss was sitting behind the bar and saw the whole thing. He told him, you're lucky she didn't hurt you. He was then told to leave and not come back.
    Mind you, my daughter stands 4 foot 11 and weights about 110 pounds. The guy stood almost 6 feet and had to weigh about 220 pounds, twice her size. She's a few belts away from being a black belt in their world federation Moo Duk Kwan Tang Soo Do. It's the same martial arts that Chuck Norris learned. It's a powerful and highly effective South Korean martial art.
    She and my wife had the honor of being introduced to their grand master before he passed several years ago. He wanted my wife and daughter to spar with some of the best fighters in the yearly tournaments because he learned my wife, even though she was a purple belt with 2 stripes, knocked out a black belt with one punch to his chest when sparing with gloves. My wife and daughter are both power houses. My daughter accidently broke the ankle of an opponent while sparing with gloves. All she did was block a kick. I'm so proud of them. I don't worry about either of them. They can take care of business without my help for sure.
    My wife and daughter look like helpless women to a stranger off the street. Up to the point they're violated by the stranger. Then only our Lord and Savior can save them.

    That’s the truth. Sucks that no matter how enlightened and educated one is they can’t convince family and friends to prepare themselves. In California we’re limited as to carrying, so I don’t even bother playing their game. I protect myself as legally possible, which kinda sucks.

    Once upon a time in the USA, there were police officers that never even removed their sidearm in the line of duty during their 20+ years protecting and serving...... 2024, hardly a day goes by without reports of police being shot or involved in shooting situations. That's something for everyone to be alarmed and prepared because the violence is ever increasing, and law enforcement presence is diminishing daily. Remember your ABC's; "Always Be Carrying!" Peace and Blessings Brother Mark. You look well... HALLELUJAH!

      my uncle retired from CHP in '63--he worked south calif and never once pulled his gun out --but he also took drunks home,helped work on car broke down and after they moved him to truck scales he would help a trucker get going--the truckers would stop for coffee,leave big boxes of produce-my dad and i would visit at the scale--his buddy took my sis and I in a brand new '57 dodge chp car ripping around down by the beach hills--we were 5 and 7,one seat belt around both of us in front--never do that today--the CHP officers would all come over to his house,burn burgers for lunch,sip a little wiskey,go back to work--miss those days...a lot

I was a part of those days, but for me beginning in the early 70's, and we were still able to give drunks a lift or put them in a taxi, but things really started to change during the 80's, and they've gone downhill since. I always thank GOD for getting me through almost 38 years. If I had to do it all over again, but starting today, no Sir, not for me. On the bright side..... JESUS Is Coming Soon! HALLELUJAH!

    It’s tomorrow now. I’ve been outside a couple of times without any of my guns. Thought I’d report back that there are no problems to report. Just like pretty much every other day of my life of 70 years. Even all those days I spent floating rivers in western Alaska keeping my 870 close by I never had to use it. Just so’s you know, I’m more averse to fear mongering than just about anything else I encounter in this day and age.

    If you are going to carry a gun, you owe yourself to practice often , and you should have some sort of legal protection stored in your cellphone. Regardless of fault or not, you are going to be answering police questions if you are involved in a self-defense shooting.

    • @flapxjackson
      @flapxjackson 10 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yep. Call the police. Then call your lawyer. Hopefully, answering questions to the police is as far as it goes. But if it goes to court, you’ll quickly find out another meaning of freedom isn’t free. Lawyers love to bill.

    • @wm7312
      @wm7312 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @flapxjackson first, of all after you or someone calls the cops and when they arrive you tell them you need to go to the hospital to be checked out not only for physical injuries but emotional. That gives you a chance to get all your thoughts in order before you talk to the police WITH your lawyer present. Under no circumstances do you talk to the police without a lawyer.
      "Officer, I am too stressed out and need to be checked out at the hospital, and officer under no circumstances, I will be talking to you until I have my lawyer present,"
      Join an organization that provides legal protection and legal services after a self-defense incident. If not, it could be very intimidating and expensive experience.

      @@wm7312 Yeah. That suggestion to tell the police that you need to go to the hospital is a good one. Another TH-camr suggested that also. And never talk to the police alone. They aren’t your friend in that situation.

    God helps those who help themselves. Most gun thefts are out of vehicles, so don't leave your firearms in a vehicle, EVER! Concealed carry is like anything else, if its important to you you will figure out a way to become use to carrying one. Its kinda like a hide a key, once you have a hide a key you will never lock your keys in the car again :) But know this...... A concealed weapon is also a comforter for you and your family members. Practice and become confident with the weapon you choose, and CARRY IT not stash it.

      I had a coworker have a firearm stolen from his truck. I wouldn’t want to have to report that to the cops. I know another guy who keeps a firearm in his car. But he has a gun safe in there to lock it up.

      @@flapxjackson Consider this, lots of people are accosted coming out of stores and they have to try to make it back to their vehicle to a gun in a "safe" ! Its like getting use to wearing a watch pretty soon you don't even know its there.... Find a good holster and it will make all the difference in carrying!
