This is a really nice brass hammer, you'll have this for a long time. I love the walnut handle. I also made my mallet with a walnut handle. I, and so do you I can see, love the look of black walnut.

0:20 Of course, your plane has a lateral adjuster already on it, so there's no reason to use any hammer on it, But I get where you're coming from. Nice work by the way
That lateral adjustment is only for rough setting of the plane. It would be very hard to finely tune lateral adjustment solely using that lever. Hammer is essential for precision.
@@AndreaArzensek Hmmm I don't think I would agree with that. I have used planes for years and never needed a hammer on one that has a lateral adjuster. You just have to be easy with it. And not over tighten the lever cap. It only needs to be finger tight. That's why most people find lateral adjusters hard to use. But, I wont argue that with you. You do it your way.
I see all of the comments :) Around 15x67mm. I actually bought just this piece at local hardware store as they had it in scraps. Really cheap. Handle is black walnut and it is 220x20x15 and tapers from that to the head of the hammer. Good luck
No problem ☺️ Brass (or bronze in this case) plane is good because it doesn't rust and the weight may be beneficial in some work. We absolutely love our LN 4 Brass plane. Brass hammer is perfect because it won't damage the steel when using it on a plane. Best regards from Croatia 😊

Then I have been doing it wrong for many years as well 🙂
Excelente trabajo con el martillo. Saludos.
Bonito martillo
That’s a clever little plane you have. The one that pivots and planes flat. What do you call that?
What is the time stamp in the video for the plane?
Bonito hammer

Not sure if you will see this but I might as well try. What size was that brass bar you used ? I'm considering making a similar hammer. Thanks

What is the different between steel and brass hammer for hand plane?
Brass is heavier but also softer than steel.
@@AndreaArzensek it has been about 4 years but you still reply my comment, thank very much bro😊
No problem ☺️
