"A little narrow for me, but it's got a decent length" This was the second time Nick had heard her say this phrase, and he still wasn't sure how to feel about it.
So I showed my girlfriend my knives....she thought they were the most stupid tings on Earth and didn't know why I'd spend my money on them.... I put a zt0450 in her hand and say to her "pull on the tap on the blade" so she does it the blade flies open and she's just looks at me like "oh... That's kinda cool..." So she started flipping all my other knives now she's asking me where I get them and what ones she should get.... The indoctrination process I complete!!! *Evil chuckle* she's a gem of a human being
I think she needs to start doing all of your tactical reviews cause she is obviously a “high speed low drag operator who operates operationally in the theater.”
GhostNeck I can see that in nicks regular videos his mind is going 100mph trying to remember to say everything and in this one all he had to do was be relaxed and be safety guy and keep the conversation going. That all probably plays a role. I enjoyed the video, it was pretty refreshing
Yup, my guess is Nicks nervous she’ll find this awkward (cos y’know he cares and stuff). That or he’s scared she’ll take a shine to the Norseman and ask what it cost.
At what point of the relationship did you tell her that you were THE internet authority on all bladed objects? what was her reaction to learning of your fame/infamy?
I have to say, she was right on with some of her assessments, as well she provided some insight about the perceptions of the uninitiated. We pay too damn much for most of these blades, because we in the knife community put too great an emphasis on what are ultimately very esoteric qualities, including a name.
toxic flipper I feel that she knows more than most non-kinfe people being that she didn't constantly question why they are so expensive, why you would buy all of them, and why you would need more than one or two knives. so at least she is understanding of the feelings and reasons of the knife community
Hello Nick My name is James & ive just recently been binge watching your videos & I am a huge fan of your videos. It's a rare thing to find someone who is honest and clear insofar as all aspects without being negative. Truly entertaining. I am very thankful to you for covering so many aspects however I would absolutely love to see more with what was your fiancee but is now your wife. I have watched this video twice and I will most likely watch it again at some time. So thank you very much once again & keep it up . Peace James
This was a riot. Thanks for it Favorite unintended innuendo: "I looked at it and thought I'd like it until I got it in my hand, then I didn't like it anymore." Reference to the ZT
Im sure if she would’ve spread out a bunch of purses & shoes, you would’ve missed the pricing on 90% of them as well. She gave an honest & in-depth review of those knives. Way to go young lady.
That was a very fun video and I can respect that you wanted to keep her behind the scenes. She seems like a good woman Nick to put up with all of your addictions
I don't know if anyone has ever strung the three words 'luxurious flaming hair' together in that order before, or ever will again, but regardless, the mental image was glorious and killed me
I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but the fact the now wife, didn't break off the engagement the second you said she was "tired" of the ZT 0452's proves she's a keeper. Great video
Good god Nick, you allegedly love this woman and you open a Z-Hunter at her? Isn't this the blade you've been waiting to just come flying off at any point? ;P
"What is this?! A fuller for ants?! I don't wanna hear your excuses! The fuller has to be at least... three times bigger than this!" Edit: "Thank you dearest fiancee" *goes in for the handshake*
Great and fun topic you developed here hahaha! It's interesting to know the approach non knife person has on models, shapes, and prices of knives. I enjoy it very much. Thanks for sharing man
This is refreshing. Instead of getting distracted by a lot of jargon about different steels and carbon fiber scales and assisted opening, The Fiancée judges the knives by common-sense criteria like how they look, how they feel in her hand, and how they cut (and stab). And we find out which knives are grossly overpriced.
Nick we love you bud! I absolutely enjoyed having your fiancé as a special guest! I wouldn’t even wait any longer, just marry her, she was absolutely charming! I particularly loved the between the ribs comment for the Norseman! This video had me smiling the entire time! You are a lucky man sir to have a fiancé that gives you all the time it takes to have one of the most popular you tube channels in the world of knives! Great great video! Makes me want to pull out my collection and ask my significant other her opinions as well. I loved the video and the cat Jedi was a nice touch also!! 😜🤣🤣
That moment when the finish on your knife is too good to where you have to edit the video to protect your identities. 😂 Also, spacktical is the greatest phrase I've ever heard.
With so much heresy going around, I might as well add one more.... Has anyone ever noticed that there's a huge hole in the spine of most Spyderco knives? Isn't that where the metal to support the edge is supposed to go?
Without a doubt the cutest review you have ever done Nick. Kudos to the Fiancee who definitely qualifies as a female connoisseur as her very 1st pick at the beginning of this presentation was the only bling bling on the table.
Love the vid concept. Would love to see her review her edc knives. She more then channels Doug and seems way too fixated on slipping a knife into someone’s ribs. Luckily she seems equally into evaluating their box opening capabilities. You are both gems!
Well now I think you you have to keep the Grimsmo. It’s her favorite knife. I liked this video, it was interesting to hear someone with little knowledge comment about. Puts things into perspective. Also, and I’m sorry to go here, but with her proclivities to girthy, large knives, this actually speaks well for you Nick! 🤣
A great reminder that if I am going to spend $200 or $1000 on a knife, it had better be because I really like it and it brings me joy since most "normal" folks out there will see nothing but a knife, and that they most likely will have no idea if it is a gem or a tan flipper. And I haven't laughed so much for quite a while. I strongly suspect that the result would be similar with my wife, apart from my lack of the rainbow batman special. Many thanks to the fiancée.
Bit late to the party here, but I really enjoyed this video. Offered a completely different perspective and actually some points that I think some of us - me certainly wouldn't consider & perhaps should. The balance comments were absolutely on point. Also Nick it sounds like shes planned out your demise already... Good Luck!
Excellent and fantastic to get the perspective of your fiancee. It's great to get a pov from someone not being into knives and showing us how deep we are into trouble with this hobby. (read really deep) Showed the video to my wife and she said that she loved the Batman knife and that the Razel looked like an old carpenters tool.
Sorry for the camera shaking, but alas, I kept bumping into the charging cable. And remember, snarky commenters: She will hunt you down.
On it. I worry though that she’s got a slight conflict of interest.
Interesting to get her opinion and good job on protecting her and or your identity. Found the cat pictures entertaining.
I loved this video.... she did great work... i like her pricing 😂😂😂
Will she Z-Hunt us down?
I want to see more reviews with your fiancee! She seems awesome!
I half expect it to be nick with a girls voice
Gavin Reddig that would be incredibly entertaining!
Gavin Reddig inb4 "Nick already has a girl's voice"..
I was semi-fearful of it being a girl with Nick's voice. Yikes!
I fully expected that and was kinda dissapointed
"A little narrow for me, but it's got a decent length"
This was the second time Nick had heard her say this phrase, and he still wasn't sure how to feel about it.
Vaughan Cyre, my wife, sitting next to me and watching along, quipped, “That’s what she said.”
Freudian slip
Another one was
There is a little bit of curve there for grip, but there is not much down there for me.😂
Anyone else's knees flinch a bit during that statement?
always wondered why the knifes Nick's getting are bigger then the same knifes i'm getting...
*Evil chuckle* she's a gem of a human being
Lucky man, hope all continues to go well!
This is a beautiful thing
That's awesome we as knife collectors must spread the doctrine 😂
:)
Knighthunt are you guys still together?
The Fiance on the torrent: "it's interesting and yet unnecessary"
*Nick thinking about his full custom torrent and getting worried*
I think she needs to start doing all of your tactical reviews cause she is obviously a “high speed low drag operator who operates operationally in the theater.”
Benchmades pricing team needs to hire Mrs. Shabazz...
DRwarnclif and spyderco
Finally, I can buy a 940-1
"Stabby" and "less shitty"....best damn knife reviews ever. Honest unbiased and spot on! Great work and congrats on the upcoming nuptuals!!!
I was half expecting a poor imitation of a girl's voice that was vaguely reminiscent of the Russian Stranger.
hehoff33 same.
Same
Honestly slightly dissapointed lol
I was, too. XD Nick would totally troll like that.
When she said "It's interesting but seems unnecessary" ...that is truly the epitome of 99% of the knives out there.
She's a better hand model 100%
I noticed the same.
OK, hands up: who else felt slightly silly about their knife hobby whilst watching this? I mean, I'm not going to stop or anything, obviously.
Me!
arcade.
Hahaha yep
Oh man definitely
Not only does she actually exist, but she disagrees with your opinions completely. She's definitely a keeper
I think in summary the fiancé’s ideal folding knife has a 4 inch blade 5 inch handle weights 8oz has a murdery tip with a rainbow blade finish
So, a chinese made novelty Counter Strike knife probably
That sounds wrong on so many levels.
If you listen closely you can hear nick putting the ring on and running to the other end of the table to be his fiancé. It is all a lie
Kire EDC that would be something lol
Shhhh.
Thats probably what the "face reveal" was about. ; )
Glorious, excellent, would fiancee again
Your voice got like 6octaves lower in this video vs. When the fiance isn't there
Brandon Purcell Yeah... A good woman calms you down.
Yup, and this was pretty late at night.
GhostNeck I can see that in nicks regular videos his mind is going 100mph trying to remember to say everything and in this one all he had to do was be relaxed and be safety guy and keep the conversation going. That all probably plays a role. I enjoyed the video, it was pretty refreshing
You certainly sound nervous !!
Yup, my guess is Nicks nervous she’ll find this awkward (cos y’know he cares and stuff).
That or he’s scared she’ll take a shine to the Norseman and ask what it cost.
"I like the Spydercos more than this one"
Awww her first fanboy-triggering statement
Rodrigo Teresa Somewhere Tex Grebner just shed a tear
Two of Nick's favorite things in one video?
That's a beautiful thing.
At what point of the relationship did you tell her that you were THE internet authority on all bladed objects? what was her reaction to learning of your fame/infamy?
She doesn't believe it any more than I do!
I have to say, she was right on with some of her assessments, as well she provided some insight about the perceptions of the uninitiated. We pay too damn much for most of these blades, because we in the knife community put too great an emphasis on what are ultimately very esoteric qualities, including a name.
“Bit of a size queen here.”
You stop that.
tilmourning * Nick laughs nervously *
12:18
I have a feeling that may have hit close to home for Nick
Also I think at least half the viewers were expecting a Norman Bates situation here, so kudos for resisting and playing it straight 😂
A whole different fresh approach that is eye opening for us seasoned knife collectors.
It puzzles me how my wife can debone a chicken with her eyes shut, but can't close my lockblades.
This is adorable. That you nick and fiancé, for making my night that much more great.
Your fiance likes “murdery” knives, for sure.
Jay Wehrer I’m surprised she didnt like the 0452!!!
"If I can't stab someone through their ribs I have no use for this knife"
@@Jkp1321 unfortunately, all non-knife-people is thinking like this.
This makes me feel like I have a PHD in Knifeology.
Fernando Sedillo I was thinking the same thing. I was like is this what all non knife people think lol
toxic flipper I feel that she knows more than most non-kinfe people being that she didn't constantly question why they are so expensive, why you would buy all of them, and why you would need more than one or two knives. so at least she is understanding of the feelings and reasons of the knife community
Matthew L that's a good point
"there is some shame on this table" then everyones eyes drift towards the z-hunter
That and the rainbow blade. Terrible, terrible gas station knives.
"You want a little more junk in the trunk"
Nick shahbazz
I love how wholesome this is. She is willing to get into your interests and seems very interested in it.

Missed a question-
What knife can you keep after the marriage?
PapaWheelie LOL!!
Excellent question!
Im sure if she would’ve spread out a bunch of purses & shoes, you would’ve missed the pricing on 90% of them as well. She gave an honest & in-depth review of those knives. Way to go young lady.
This was an awesome video Nick. Loved it. Great content, a surprise but a great one. Love this channel. Favorite on TH-cam.
“Open a box. Okay, that’s more than most knife guys do.”
This is the most entertaining segment. Cheers mate.
That was a very fun video and I can respect that you wanted to keep her behind the scenes. She seems like a good woman Nick to put up with all of your addictions
She hands knives in a safer way than a lot of people who claim to know a ton about knives so good job Fiancee
"There's not much down there for me to hold on to.." Call for help - I'm dying here!
RIP Norseman, I hope it wasn't the Fiancee's favorite
Well done. It’s good to see a normal person’s take on the things we cherish & value. Humbling. Reminds us not to take ourselves so damned seriously.
"what do you think of the grimsmo rask ?" , "it's ok" , *disappointment and depression settling
The fiance looks a bit like a cat, Nick.
Jake’s Take underrated comment.
Took a while to get what you were saying
Nick I'm not trying to be weird but she sounds a lot better looking than you do😂
Agreed.
That's funny, I never thought of people sounding like they look good, but now that I think of it. She sounds very good looking!
Ummm...yeah I do like her voice
I concur.
What are you wearing Jake from State Farm?
Ummm Khakis?
She sounds hideous.
Loved it, you should do more of these. Diggin the no nonsense presence the Fiancé brings to the table, pun intended.
Good lord, she even laughs at your puns. Good thing you wifed her.
Thank you both,it made my day a gem!
I don't know if anyone has ever strung the three words 'luxurious flaming hair' together in that order before, or ever will again, but regardless, the mental image was glorious and killed me
"Which of these is *my* favourite knife?"
Me: "Pick the Z-Hunter! Pick the Z-Hunter!"
You two are freak’n awesome! I absolutely love this video! I can’t wait for the next one. I’ll be on the floor laughing for day 😂
what do you think of the carbon fiber ..... I don't care! best answer ever!!
I know I'm a bit late to the party here, but the fact the now wife, didn't break off the engagement the second you said she was "tired" of the ZT 0452's proves she's a keeper. Great video
This is one of your best videos. I bet it speaks for most of us knife nerds.
Thank you Nick!
Good god Nick, you allegedly love this woman and you open a Z-Hunter at her? Isn't this the blade you've been waiting to just come flying off at any point? ;P
do you really think its sharp enough to go through cloths and skin lol? also wouldnt carry a ton of momentum
Absolutely I don't lol
The fact that she isn't going "Why are you talking like that" tells me he actually talks like a cartoon mob boss. I love it.
Love this! Why can’t I like this multiple times
"What is this?! A fuller for ants?! I don't wanna hear your excuses! The fuller has to be at least... three times bigger than this!"
Edit:
"Thank you dearest fiancee"
*goes in for the handshake*
At least the fuller was really really, ridiculously, extremely good-looking
I'm working on a new look. I call it... Dama Steel.
Great and fun topic you developed here hahaha! It's interesting to know the approach non knife person has on models, shapes, and prices of knives. I enjoy it very much. Thanks for sharing man
'Doug freakin Marcaida'. She definitely seems more murdery than you Nick ;)
I loved the banter between you two, it reminds me of when my fiancée and I talk about knives. This was fun to watch
I love her! Great vid! She is a great sport to do a video with you. It was a refreshing look at your collection with your sane better half!
She has the absolute opposite of every single opposite opinion compared to nick. I find it hilarious.
I love both of you guys' commentaries, had lots of laughs xD Great video Nick!
This is refreshing. Instead of getting distracted by a lot of jargon about different steels and carbon fiber scales and assisted opening, The Fiancée judges the knives by common-sense criteria like how they look, how they feel in her hand, and how they cut (and stab). You should do more of these. The back and forth is a nice change up, maybe even something via Skype with other TH-camrs? Or a podcast?
Nick we love you bud! I absolutely enjoyed having your fiancé as a special guest! I wouldn’t even wait any longer, just marry her, she was absolutely charming! Is the one knife she really likes the one he's gonna sell? Or is that not happening now?
Dude... this was so much fun I watched it again. Thanks to you and my new favorite reviewer. Please extend my thanks to your fiancé.
That poor code 4... they apparently ran out of serrations.
Just saw this.... Loved it.. One of your best.
Thank you, Fiancee, for doing this! It's a pleasure to finally "meet" you.
Some of the answers must have broke Nick's heart for a split second
Please Nick more such videos. It’s nice to see the view from a different perspective.
That moment when the finish on your knife is too good to where you have to edit the video to protect your identities. 😂
Also, spacktical is the greatest phrase I've ever heard.
With so much heresy going around, I might as well add one more.... Has anyone ever noticed that there's a huge hole in the spine of most Spyderco knives? Isn't that where the metal to support the edge is supposed to go?
It’s interesting seeing how different her preferences are compared to your’s
Without a doubt the cutest review you have ever done Nick. Kudos to the Fiancee who definitely qualifies as a female connoisseur as her very 1st pick at the beginning of this presentation was the only bling bling on the table.
I was highly disappointed I was really hoping she had the same accent 😂 dig the sir mix a lot reference though
Nick, how about doing a video of your reactions to her comments...because she was dead-on with some of her observations, like the pretty butterflies.
This is so much fun. "Am I spackling with it?" Perfect comment.
I have to say i absolutely love this video! Very refreshing
This was so funny. I've done this before with my wife and daughter just to make myself laugh. Great video.
Okay I'll buy the Benchmade for $25. Checks in the mail
Christopher Finn I’ll buy the benchmade you just got for 5. Checks in the mail
She's definitely not a knife nerd, and I say that meaning no offense. Wouldn't wanna get hunted down by Ms. Shabazz!
When she picked the Code 4 as your favorite I nearly died! :)
I dont kno how i missed this one but she has an awsome perspective. Thanx N
Nick, she is a gem.
Love the vid concept. Would love to see her review her edc knives. She more then channels Doug and seems way too fixated on slipping a knife into someone’s ribs. Luckily she seems equally into evaluating their box opening capabilities. You are both gems!

Also, and I’m sorry to go here, but with her proclivities to girthy, large knives, this actually speaks well for you Nick! 🤣
This was a lot of fun. Thanks to the fiance for being such a good sport

"I'm not blown away, I'm not ashamed of it..." haha perfect!
This was great!!! On a side note, are her hands bigger than yours?
After her reaction to the Z Hunter, she not only likes length and girth, black also tickles her fancy......
I hate everything you just said.
Great video guys. Also, I love it when things are not as shitty as I thought.
Bit late to the party here, but I really enjoyed this video. Offered a completely different perspective and actually some points that I think some of us - me certainly wouldn't consider & perhaps should. The balance comments were absolutely on point. Also Nick it sounds like shes planned out your demise already... Good Luck!
There is no way you can let go of that Norseman now, Nick. You’d not only break our hearts, but the fiancée’s as well.
Excellent and fantastic to get the perspective of your fiancee. It's great to get a pov from someone not being into knives and showing us how deep we are into trouble with this hobby.
