Had the pleasure of seeing them live in NYC at the Irving Plaza. They are all incredibly talented and give 110% for their fans. Incredible energy. Do yourself a favor and go and see them live if you can, you won’t regret it !
Absolutely agree with you about music's biggest purpose is to create some sort of emotional response. Band Maid always puts me in a good mood. I am not a drummer but I do enjoy watching your videos.
You'd love the DVD's that come with some of their LE albums..They contain instrumental versions of the tracks on the album..some with multi cameras where you can choose to focus on any member and watch what they play..As you can imagine they are so awesome to watch!...Akane's style is a thing of beauty!..Pure class with such grace and yet such power!!.All with a beautiful smile 🥰
Akane is top of my list for all time drummers. Nice to see someone reacting to her drumming, not many do. If you get a chance, try reacting to a new song on their latest EP called Hate? At about 2mins we need a count of how many limbs she has. She is brilliant.
Really. I'm a drummer (50 yrs) reacting. Akane is great, love her style, timing, double bass technique. And if she is top on your list cool. However top of all drummers (all time)? No. I enjoy BAND MAID.. Akane is key to the sound and glue musically and Band business. She and all players are likeable and solid musicians with great tone.

I'm just a fan (not a muso) but she seems to roll a lot of them into one. She was the first one to catch my attention when i first clicked on BM. It's a personal preference I guess.
I think I have mentioned Akane's kit in the past...but forgot to mention she uses "Evans" skins...Also there I have seen a picture of her kit and in the picture there appears to be coins stuck to her toms. (2 on each towards the top slightly to the right near to the rim.)..probably yen coins of course...interesting.
A-chan (AKANE) is a twin pedal. But in this song, the sound that sounds like twin pedal is It is almost one pedal. I was surprised when I saw the DVD with multiple angles. There are not many drummers who can play the bass drum so fast. No wonder Jimmy Page fell in love with it.

House of Blues, Chicago, Nov 1, 2022" It is a fan-cam focused on Akane as they play Endless Story during their last show of their U.S. tour, in Chicago on November 1st. You will love her even more. Glad to see you still doing some Band-maid :) I hope you get around to one of their 3 amazing instrumentals :) Onset, (official live) or without holding back (MV) - and maybe the best, (imo) - without holding back, off their new EP :) With that one, you'll want to just react to the audio only studio cover- there is a MV of them playing it but dont think its on YT? The latter 2 are better in terms of drumming- tho onset is a much loved older classic. You REALLY should get to all 3 of them at some point! And I wanted to mention Honkai here too- (album ver, music only) - because its a more obscure track - but it is amazing with fantastic drumming - and others forget to recommend it. On their official channel it might only be called 本懐
When I feel stressed because of my work, I would listen to Band-Maid while driving. Only one song I will skip from Band-Maid, and that is "Don't Apply The Brake" xD. But my favorite song to listen to is still Band-Maid - Cross live
How hard would it be to learn and play an Akane cover ? She seems to mix it up a lot . H-E-Double Hockey Sticks was how we said it growing up in Detroit...And thanks for the nod to the Vets (That was very "Don Cherry" of you)...Peace !
