She throws a lot of english here and there into the mix, but it's done mostly for the sake of better vocal-melody. If you haven't heard "Puzzle" live - that would be my recommendation
Ah so I was kinda right! It’s done to make a better fit/better melody! Also I’m quite familiar with them. I’m a big fan of Japanese bands and have been twice myself for a total of 6 weeks. Was supposed to go back this year, but covid 😭
@@johnnyneedham9831 yep, a LOT j-rock bands do that. but there are also things like - the phrases are supposed to be in english, the lyrics-sheets have them in english, but the japanese actually hear it different, they hear japanese phrases (maybe due to pronunciation). It was pointed out by two japanese guys doing some b-m song reactions for example. there is a good post on reddit regarding Mikus writing style: reddit[.com] /r/BandMaid/comments/hfc9mt/why_miku_is_a_great_lyricist/ it was written by *t-shinji* - i saw he commented on this video already, he translates a lot of their interviews also (BIG thx!) I kinda got to j-rock in the early 90s, after seeing "Bubblegum Crisis" anime - that intro stuck in my head. Been following a couple j-rock-bands over the years, even made myself familiar with jap. pop-output. Classics like Meiko Kaji (yes, I was familiar way before "Kill Bill") or Ayumi Hamasaki etc. Watched a lot of jap. movies... "NANA" for example, about a friendship of two girls - one of them a j-rock singer. And the movie soundtrack is basically that I associated with j-rock for a long time - they also had A LOT english phrases thrown in. But the pronunciation makes it difficult to understand ;) so for a long time - "our" western rock and j-rock were two different things in my mind. i liked both, but distinguished between them. With Band-Maid I don't have that - Nr. 1 Band on this planet for me. And the gap to the second place is bigger than the gap between their maid-theme and the music they play.
@@w.b.562 Yeah when the Japanese reactor pointed out that Miku's basically making puns in English _and_ Japanese - or between the two, if that puts it better - my mind would have blown out the back of my skull if I hadn't already decided she's a freakin' genius for other reasons.
Hello, okinawan here, japanese speakers can switch to English words so easily in the middle of sentences, because that’s what we already do, if we know it or not. About 30% of Japanese words are English loan-words (much like how 50% of English is French loan words) so it’s something we do naturally already. Funfact: Easily the funniest/worst example of this is the English word “election” which is translated as エレクション. But because ‘l’ and ‘r’ are the same sound in Japanese it means English speakers hear us say “erection” when we are talking about elections
Band-maid is awesome! Many Japanese band and artists put English in their songs. Most time because it’s sound cool to have some English. You should check out the Japanese band name Scandal. I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs. I hope you do a react video for Scandal songs soon. Thank you
I think the reason that there is some words in English instead of it all being in Japanese is that there are certain words in English that have no literal translation to Japanese. For example I know English and I know Russian there are many words in Russian that are very difficult to translate to English.
A lot of J rock is super catchy but also impressive like this. My favorite j rock band is FACT. Songs like fake smile (INSANE video you have to see) and slip of the lip are good starters.
Great reaction video. More Band-Maid please. However, I'm curious to see your reaction to Lovebites. They are an all female Japanese Heavy Metal band that will knock your socks off. Seriously! I think international artists try to incorporate English words to make it more universal....? It's cute that Band-Maid does it, but i wish they didn't have to cater to an English market
They are one of the best hard rock bands of our generation. That's not a hyperbole.

it was written by *t-shinji* - i saw he commented on this video already, he translates a lot of their interviews also (BIG thx!)
I kinda got to j-rock in the early 90s, after seeing "Bubblegum Crisis" anime - that intro stuck in my head.
But the pronunciation makes it difficult to understand ;)
so for a long time - "our" western rock and j-rock were two different things in my mind. i liked both, but distinguished between them.
I'm searching for Log Horizon Season 3 OP Song but I'm ended up here 😆
Pfffft. You guys have no idea what you just got yourselves into. This is the best hard rock band in the world right now. Have fun!
Honestly you should REALLY react to more Band-Maid. Try "Warning" one of their last MV.
More Band Maid.... Please
Babymetal is really good and their newer album is unique and cool
Hello, okinawan here, japanese speakers can switch to English words so easily in the middle of sentences, because that’s what we already do, if we know it or not. About 30% of Japanese words are English loan-words (much like how 50% of English is French loan words) so it’s something we do naturally already.
Funfact: Easily the funniest/worst example of this is the English word “election” which is translated as エレクション. But because ‘l’ and ‘r’ are the same sound in Japanese it means English speakers hear us say “erection” when we are talking about elections
Hahahaha so don’t ask a Japanese person to vote on your election? Haha
Thanks for the information and thanks for watching!
Band-maid is awesome!
Many Japanese band and artists put English in their songs. Most time because it’s sound cool to have some English.
You should check out the Japanese band name Scandal. I can give you some suggestions and links for Scandal songs. I hope you do a react video for Scandal songs soon. Thank you

MISA MISA MISA!
Saludos, please react to more Band Maid songs, thanks
You should check out violet orlandi ft so Lori down with the sickness cover
Have you done 6 new videos since this one?
I think the reason that there is some words in English instead of it all being in Japanese is that there are certain words in English that have no literal translation to Japanese. For example I know English and I know Russian there are many words in Russian that are very difficult to translate to English.
A lot of J rock is super catchy but also impressive like this. My favorite j rock band is FACT. Songs like fake smile (INSANE video you have to see) and slip of the lip are good starters.
This song will be the Log Horizon Ending music
Please react to the Warning- "Dull Knives"cave for de (tour), "dust to dust" Lunario cdmx, "Narcisista "Foro DiDi Monterrey
You guys need to watch baby metal- gimme chocolate it’s another Japanese band 😃
Great reaction video. More Band-Maid please. However, I'm curious to see your reaction to Lovebites. They are an all female Japanese Heavy Metal band that will knock your socks off. Seriously! If you are ready to check them out I think their song, Thunder Vengeance would be a good place to start as it's the first song of a Concert. Thanks

I think international artists try to incorporate English words to make it more universal....? It's cute that Band-Maid does it, but i wish they didn't have to cater to an English market
🤣🤣🤣😂😂🤦♂️🤦♂️
Pitty- Anacrônico is a good rock singer and music
