Two great contest entries Steve. Had me laughing out loud. Trading rocks for rock n roll 😂 brilliant idea.
😂
Thanks Mike, it’s one of those things that I really have no idea where I’m going with it, I just keep talking haha
Wow, this was a contest tour-de-force! also, I learned something about Beck 🙂
😊🇳🇴
Thanks Brian, if I do a contest I like to just have fun with it I use to do some real crazy contest entries
Nice! I love the Flower Travellin’ Band! Bill would be happy that you showed that album!
Yes, that is a Bill inspired album. He did get me into Japanese psych rock Michael
😂😂 beautiful choreography with the fingers Steve…….the timing with text…..perfection! 😂 I completely with you re Elvis P. I’ve got a double greatest hits on CD and I appreciate his importance and my wife tells me he was very handsome…..but naaaaa, not for me. You’ve gone too far giving the bobble head 😂 That rock was hatching as you were speaking!! 🥚
What is that strange jersey you are wearing? 👕 Wow a Carlson falsetto or did you sit on that dinosaur egg! 😂Hysterical video 😂
RealMikeWanabeSteve
The Jersey is for a baseball team, Morten’s favorite, Colorado Rockies. I bought that some 30 years ago when they became a team, finally had a reason to wear it lol. The bobble head was pretty generous but I was trying to sweeten the pot a little bit for that 45. Contest videos are fun to do, just go off in some random direction with it ! Always a pleasure RealMikeWanna Be Steve lol
Great Tuesday show. No Elvis here either. I just bought satori . Take care art
Good call with Satori, that is so darn good. Glad you enjoyed it Art
Steve, cool Rockies jersey. Have you dumped the Tigers? Great contest entries. Peace ☮️ Namaste 🙏 The Zonkman
No way, still a Tigers fan but I bought that Jersey the first year the Rockies became a team. Florida Marlins, I also have one from them as they started the same year. Bought at Kmart!
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 sweet!!!! So you have been a closet Rockies fan for 30 years. Go Blake St Bombers!!!!!
Thank you for participating, Steve! You are officially entered in the raffle/drawing. You forgot to mention that the winner gets $100.00! Thanks for the laughs. I can always count on you to lower blood pressure. 😂
Yeah, I mentioned the $100 when I was into Mortens entry, totally forgot to say it as I was getting into the video and just riffing lol. I rarely do contest entries but when I do I want them to be fun and something completely different. Thanks for the email and prod, glad to do this. Not sure if I could part with my rocks BTW lol
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Haha. Rock 🪨 on🤘🏽, Steve.
Thank you for that great entry to my contest. And what a cool Rockies jersey!
I yelled out YES! When you picked Beck! A jewish norwegian american! Now those are far between I’d think. I couldn’t be happier if Woody Allen got 50 years younger and started making industrial techno 😄
And entirely unknown 1971 entries too! Wow.
You are the best Steve, thank you for being my friend and doing this entry. And remember, I’m even part Swedish on top of the Norwegian and Danish 😊 My maternal grandmother was from Aahus, in Skåne, where Absolut Vodka comes from 🤓
Glad you enjoyed my entry Morten, I don’t do many contest but when I do I just want to have fun and just see what comes out of my mouth. Not much prep haha. I figured for 71 I wanted to go with things people would not think about Flower Traveling Band really fit the bill.
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 It was awesome Steve. And those 71’s? Trippy dude! I love sitting suspence seeing what and who you guys find. I reallt did cheer out loud when you showed your pick! 😊
I'm pretty happy with The Kinks version of Milk Cow Blues.
A couple of people have mentioned that, now I need to check it out
Uff da. Norwegians actually use either -son or -sen suffixes on their names. My wife was an Iverson. I once saw her family tree with all the Norskies with patronymic names, so if your father was named Johan, you would be Arne Johansson or Inga Johansdatter. And yes, they come across our border, they're bringing lutefisk, they're bringing lefse...and some of them, I'm sure, are good people.
Our cousins over on Iceland has kept their son and dóttir traditions (it was re-implemented in 1925 when the danish law that forced icelanders to adopt family names was reversed and family names was banned). In Norway it died out in the mid 1800’s when people started moving into the cities and family names were adopted, either getting stuck being the Nils-sens or adopting something reffering to a place of origin, like a landscape or a farm. Like my name Aastad (stream-place).
Michael, first off Uff Da is the official phrase of Minnesota! I did introduce Uff Da to Puerto Rico which they found hilarious but it never really took hold. I always thought of the son as primarily Swedish, now I learned something. Sadly it will be forgotten by tomorrow but for a few hours I’m wiser!
I remember you telling me about this a while back. Very interesting
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 Uff da, I don’t like lutefisk! 😄You are correct Steve. Sen is Norwegian and Danish, son Swedish. But many Americans have a son no matter where they actually came from, I blame the folks at Ellis Island 😄
I have a bunch of stylistically but I don't have that one. I don't know how anyone get beat rocks and carrots
lol, I know, rocks and carrots, I am really giving away a lot here, it’s a rock that rolls! That was the first Stylistic album, great music even if it took me a few decades to get into!
Entertaining as always Steve!
Thank you Ted, contest videos are fun to just to do and give them a twist
This look like a tradition.
I bought this Satori album for 50 years ago, it really was heavy and far out, have nothing against Norway....
I love the Norwegians, even visited their country and they did not kick me out Hasse. Amazing you bought that Flower Traveling Band album 50 years ago. Wow. That must have been so different to listen to
Hum, Donny Osmond and Anne Murray have the same hair styles, must have had the same hair dresser. Bob Ross, most recongnizeable hair. That round rock is probably a geode and has crystal-like structures inside. I couldn't think of how to include hair talking about it.
I have always wondered if the rock is a geode but I just can’t crack it Dave, itis just so darn round and cool. It’s a rock that rolls! Funny about the hair styles but good call haha
Swedes represent!
lol, yeah watch out for illegal Norwegians haha
Mike, it's been too long since I've hung out with a fellow Mike. I like the Kinks version of milk Cow Blues. Mike don't trade all of those valuable items especially the round rock!!!
I love it when you sing falsetto Mike. Satori is killer but Anywhere is the best album cover. A pleasure as always Mike....Mike
Mike, welcome back to YT. So many adventures, for you that is! I really wanted that Elvis single so why not give a rock that rolls! I am pretty sure it’s an egg. I gave everyone some falsetto Sunday also, so many videos lately have been calling on me to sing. I do have Anywhere, I mean who doesn’t want an album cover with a bunch of naked motorcycle riders! Good to hear from ya Mike, our movement lost some momentum with your absence
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 The Mike movement? 😂
I was exactly the same about the Stylistics, and also Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. They used to make me want to throw up in the 70s. Now I seem to like them both!
Dave, isn’t it funny how our music tastes can change especially music from our young years. Maybe it’s just the memories that they bring back to us. It happens so often which is nice
@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 The weirdest is when you get to like a song you used to hate, because it's in your memory. You don't even have to hear it again to discover you now like it.
Wow Steve, I can’t believe you’d be willing to let go of the Anne Murray and Donny Osmond titles. I’m well aware of how much those artist mean to you. Nice tie in with Beck. Good luck in both contests.
Haha to get Elvis sometimes you have to make sacrifices Mark even extreme ones like this. The round rock that rolls would be hard to let go of lol
I play the Memphis Elvis albums quite a bit, and love Stereo 57. There can no way be Norwegian Prog.
What,no Norwegian prog, say it isn’t so Kris
i have elvis sun sessions, its great.
Chester I did get the Third Man Elvis singles box, I really need to listen to it
Great video Steve! Although, in my opinion, you might be "overtrading" for that Elvis 45. I was on board until you threw in the Bob Ross bobblehead. Too far Steve! Too far. Ah the Stylistics! There's a band I haven't thought about in ages.
lol Dave , I just really wanted to sweeten the pop and thought the Bob Ross bobble head would seal the deal for me.
Haha. I liked that. Norway is a hotbed of prog, but I fear your wall to keep them out has failed already! One channel I follow is Richard @vinylizingprogger. A Norwegian living in Wisconsin. Thin end of the wedge! 🤣
There does seem to be a lot of people saying uff da Andy. Pretty sure they crossed illegally into our country. I can’t blame them for Lefsa as the Swedes seem to dig that too. Glad you enjoyed the ride
