When you have issues that you cannot resolve, if these issues keep lingering in one's mind, it becomes worries and will cause the body cells to mutate and eventually turn into serious illnesses.
The Buddha said: all dharmas are manifestation from our mind.
Eg. sickness is originated from our mind.
If one has some wisdom, one has the ability to easily understand the problems.
First, one will not allow the issue to multiply further and also you will have the ability to neutralise the problem.
This is the benefits of listening to the sutra or understanding the Buddha's Teachings.
    Sutras are Buddha's wisdom.
    Sutra saves life.
    Sutra saves people.
    Sutra resolve issues.
Wisdom brings benefits to yourselves and to others.
    🙏🙏🙏 Amitabha Buddha

Indeed, the law of karma (kamma) is universal and impartial, transcending even divine intervention. In Buddhist philosophy, karma represents the natural law of cause and effect-every intentional thought, word, and action creates corresponding results that shape our experiences. It emphasizes personal responsibility and the interconnectedness of all beings.
Even celestial beings (devas), who may possess extraordinary powers, are subject to the consequences of their actions. The Buddha himself explained that not even he, as the fully enlightened one, could alter the karmic fruits of others-only guide them toward understanding and liberation.
This principle underscores the profound teaching that liberation from suffering is in our own hands. By cultivating wisdom (paññā), ethical conduct (sīla), and mental discipline (samādhi), we can purify our karma and ultimately transcend the cycle of birth and death (samsara).
      As the Dhammapada reminds us:
"By oneself is evil done; by oneself is one defiled.
By oneself is evil left undone; by oneself is one purified.
Purity and impurity depend on oneself; no one can purify another."
      - Dhammapada, Verse 165
May we all strive to create wholesome karma and walk the path toward liberation. 🙏✨

This is not correct- he saved his family. His father, step mom, step brother and sister, son and wife all became minimally stream enterer or monastics.
Hundreds of Sakyans had become monastics, the only people remaining were those who had very little faith in Lord Buddha. They didn’t practice as he taught.
In Buddhism you must do as Lord Buddha says and observe Uposaths etc.
It was this arrogance of not following Buddha that destroyed the remaining Sakyans.

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for pointing that out! It’s true that many of the Buddha's family members, including his father (King Suddhodana), his stepmother (Mahāpajāpati Gotami), and his son (Rāhula), embraced his teachings and achieved notable spiritual progress. His wife, Yasodharā, also entered the monastic life and became an arahant. The Buddha's influence within his family and among the Śākyan clan was profound, but it was not universal.
The destruction of the Śākyan people by King Vidūḍabha is often attributed to their past unwholesome actions and collective karma, which the Buddha himself acknowledged he could not prevent due to the laws of kamma (karma) and dependent origination. The arrogance and reluctance of some Śākyans to fully embrace the Dhamma further compounded their vulnerability, as you noted.
Your reminder highlights an important truth in Buddhism: practicing the teachings with sincerity, humility, and dedication is essential to reaping their benefits. Even familial proximity to the Buddha was not enough to shield those who did not follow his path from the consequences of their actions.
Sadhu, sadhu, sadhu! 🙏 Thank you for sharing this valuable clarification. May we all learn to follow the Buddha's teachings earnestly and avoid the pitfalls of arrogance and neglect.

@ Sakyans who joined the order realized how arrogant they were, and themselves made a system where they would bow down to Upali, their barber to humble themselves in the Sangha:
      6. "We Sakyans, Lord, are haughty. And this Upali, the barber, has long been an attendant, Lord, upon us. May the Blessed One admit him to the Order before us, so that we may render him respect and reverence, and bow down with outstretched hands before him as our senior and thus shall the Sakyan pride be humbled in us!"
      7. Then the Blessed One received first Upali the barber, and afterwards those young men of the Sakya clan, into the ranks of the Order.

This is the ideas of free will doesn't really exist. The most powerful dharma is nonviolent
Practiced by two prominent figures Buddha and Jesus..Gandhi , Martin Luther King.

    • @MindPodcastEnglish
      @MindPodcastEnglish  25 วันที่ผ่านมา

Your insight beautifully connects the idea of free will, or its seeming absence, to the profound power of nonviolence as a guiding principle. The notion that free will might not truly exist aligns with the understanding that much of what we do is shaped by conditions, causes, and interdependencies-an essential teaching of the Buddha's paṭicca samuppāda (dependent origination).
Nonviolence (ahiṃsā) is indeed one of the most potent and transformative dharmas. It was practiced not only by the Buddha and Jesus but also exemplified by Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr., who used it to enact profound societal change. This principle teaches us to respond to suffering and injustice with compassion and wisdom rather than with aggression or vengeance.
Each of these figures demonstrated that nonviolence is not weakness but strength rooted in deep inner peace and an unshakable commitment to truth. For the Buddha, it was about ending the cycle of suffering (dukkha). For Jesus, it was about love and forgiveness. Gandhi made it a tool of resistance, and Martin Luther King Jr. used it to call for justice and equality with dignity and respect.
The power of nonviolence lies in its ability to transform-not just individuals but entire societies. It requires us to transcend our reactive tendencies and act with mindfulness and compassion, embodying the highest aspirations of human nature.
What are your thoughts, my friend? 😊🙏 Would you like to explore any of these figures or ideas further?
