Thank you for this. How responsive is the steering wheel (amount of play)? What is the turning radius like (esp U-turns)? It seems that you had the AC off for the test drive - does it being on affect the performance (acceleration/effort of the engine)? I live in Central Texas so AC is a must almost all year. What about road noise? I could hear it in the background when you were driving but don't have a sense if it's muted or intrusive at speed. I know it's been a few years so I hope you remember! Oh blast from the past on this one haha - here's a newer one with much better video and audio: th-cam.com/video/2lckAibz6CI/w-d-xo.html It's a small footprint for the turning radius because of the size and the steering wheel is pretty responsive. The cabin isn't the most quiet I've been in but withe AC blowing and windows up you'll be able to make phone calls no problem. The EcoSport does have a fairly small engine but having heat or AC going won't make much of a difference
@@CarsWithSteve Thank you! I have a 2010 Escape Limited with 268K+ miles on it (mostly mine, second owner) with a 6 cylinder engine. It's been very good to me so I want to find something similar but hoping that some of the issues I've had with the 2010 have been addressed in the 2020 EcoSport; my main concern is the road noise. It's impossible to talk hands-free in the Escape and I live in a hands-free city, so... I'll check out the new link. Thanks for the quick reply!
Wow you’ve been able to put a ton of mileage on that Escape! You’ll probably find the EcoSport a bit under powered in comparison to the Escape but won’t have an issue with phone calls. If you want something boxy like your 2010 you could look at a Bronco Sport. Not a fan of the look of the new escape model?
@@CarsWithSteve I feel like it was a combination of luck and regular maintenance. I bought it used at 47K miles and when I reached 100K, I started driving Uber full time, around 200 miles a day, so there are 168K really hard miles on it. I decided to go with the EcoSport because I'm looking about to start driving Uber again part-time, and I know I'm just going to drive this one into the ground, too, so I need reliability combined with a lower price point than the Escape. As far as the new Bronco goes, I was on the waitlist before they ever rolled off the assembly line, but practically speaking, the MPG's are too low and the carbon footprint too high. Rigid self control, that. I really appreciate you keeping the older content online so that we can see solid reviews of cars that are being bought used now. Cheers!
Great review have you driven the 1 L three cylinder version though? How much more powerful and how much quicker does the vehicle feel with the four-cylinder versus the three cylinder? My dad has a three cylinder when it’s kinda well slow.
One of the very first videos I did on this channel was on the SE trim that had the 1.0L.. they're small engines so don't have a great amount of power either way
It's one of my first videos and my audio setup was terrible! Learned about audio editing as I've made more videos so this is one I'll probably revisit in the future. Unfortunately no way to replace existing audio on an uploaded video either!
