Niv-Mizzet is actually still relevant in cEDH. He just made top 8 in the BIGGEST cEDH tournament ever hosted. I would recommend looking at Deaks build on the cEDH decklist database for a more effective deck. You don’t need Displacer Kitten, Isochron Scepter lines, etc.

I have looked at the cedh database quite a bit. So the main reason why I focused on Displacer kitten is due to the one person who made the top 8 play it. It's more to protect and blink etb creatures. I find it pretty effective in the deck. I am on the fence with Dramatic Reversal, but i think it's decent. You can get the combo going, and if your opponents remove Niv too much, you can just cast him off of that and then go ham to win the game with so much mana left and available. Again, this is more of my testing and testing ive played and so far the include i have played are solid for me

Been playing Niv for years myself, even when we had OG Firemind.
The problem with Kitten is that it’s 4 mana and really clunky. When you’re dropping Niv, having a card like Spellskite will work better due to it being 2 mana cheaper and has an ability to protect Niv. It’s very important to have cards like this so you can untap with Niv. 99% of Niv decks that top or win don’t run Displacer Kitten because of this. If the meta was more slow and control then I could see maybe having a space for it but for now it’s more of a fast combo meta with some stax here and there.

I enjoy izzet, dragons are cool and drawing for damage is even cooler. I've slowly been building it for a year and learning how to pilot it. Its a fun combo deck and don't regret building it.

Piloted this for a while, I never thought of borne upon a wind. Good suggestion!

Interesting take on some things you have included. I do like the idea of Ojer axonil tbh. Make opponents really pay for playing a lot of spells

It's more of a fun include but maybe unnecessary. But time will tell!

Welcome to the dragon party. It’s still relevant but the deck won’t play itself and you need to get LEAN.. leaner… leeaannn.
I started off w iso rev in my list cause it does just make sense. But you are a control deck you aren’t rushing to the win. And it gets stopped by Drannith same as Niv.
Lots of people play the list w no hard win con at all. And that’s fine. You’ll draw 80 cards, kill two opponents, they 1 v 1 w the exact 7 cards you want and all the fast mana dumped out and you’ve prob ruined half his stuff. Dragon beats is a thing.
Not me. I have one clean win con. Glinthorn. You draw all the cards and ritual out a Glinthorn, go to discard, deal 50 more damage to each player.
Nice thing about using Glinthorn is that you can combo off w that and a curiosity effect, so there is your back up win con and your hard win out in one card. I just saved you 20 games lol.
    Enjoy the Dargon.

Thank you for the tips! Yeah, these were just my first thoughts on the brew. I'm definitely going to change things up to the things you suggested. Thanks again for the help my friend!

I left the deck together when I became a Malcom Kediss main so my 13 year old daughter could run it and I gave her some agency in the build. She wanted to put iso rev back in, so we did. And I have seen it win games. It’s viable. Personally I think the 3 one card win cons are more than enough for a control deck and Glinthorn just layers better.
I don’t think your version would lose a ton of % points. I think you’ll just not find yourself missing iso rev or the red burn guy if you don’t run them.
I’ve never tried the burn booster guy though and maybe it could help you to treat Niv as a control engine 🤷‍♂️
Id cut it but if you do try it out id be interested to hear how it worked out🖖
