Yes the advice about getting things you can breastfeed in is gold. Nothing is worse than realizing you can’t fit any of your old clothes or breastfeed in the clothes you were wearing during pregnancy! Your wisdom is gold Lana, so glad you can help other mamas out! Even at 6 mos pp with number 4 I am wishing I did more of that!
It is a startling realization when you look into your closet and you start thinking about boob access, just a different way to look at the closet. Thanks for your encouragement friend. I hope pp is going well with your 8 month old, time is flying!
So helpful!! I feel like I got all excited to get maternity clothes with my first but with every baby I went more towards getting non maternity items that I can wear either way. I'd love to see you do a post baby clothes later on! Excited for your new addition!💙
I loved trying things on the the thrift store. I only found a couple items, but it allowed me to experiment with so many different silhouettes and shapes. That is how I figured out an empire waist is so flattering on me in pregnancy. For some reason, I had always felt that they were frumpy, but in pregnancy, they emphasize my thinnest part and still provide room for the belly. Several things I thought I'd like I hated. Also, I found a couple dresses at Plato's closet, so a more upscale thrift store is a good idea. One of the dresses is like a peasant, tiered, flowy dress. When I want to be so comfortable, I wear it with tennis shoes. I also wore it to a wedding by dressing it up with a gold belt above my belly, a blazer, and some strappy low sandals. Since it's not pregnancy specific, I'm sure I'll get use out of it later. I'm actually thinking of trying to use it as a template to make another one like it.
YES I agree! Love this! I just had a big thrift store run to Platos too, post preg to find jeans, whew it took like 30 pairs to find one that fit, but the good thing is I won't be this size long, so its nice to not invest a ton. Love how you made that dress work!
Thank you! I love how my belly bump looks and I want to show it in a beautiful, feminine, modest way. Your tips are helpful! I've made it to 27 weeks with just a few maternity pants but mostly regular clothes in accommodating silhouettes. I also recently got some maternity clothes from friends, which reminds me of the beauty of sisterhood. 💖
This video came out in perfect time as I am currently shopping for clothes to fit my 17 week bump. This is my first baby and I began to feel overwhelmed looking at maternity clothes. Thank you for the tips ❤
Yay so glad this was helpful to you! I know it can be overwhelming. Like one day things fit and the next it doesn't. Hoping there are a couple of hacks that will help you feel more comfortable and cute as your belly grows ❤️
This is great advice!! Thank you!! I also thought we were done after our baby #3, but God had other plans. 🥰 I literally gave away everything and I'm starting from scratch!! 🤦♀️
Adorable outfits and great tips! It’s cold here in the PNW and I feel best in dresses but I feel frumpy when I try layering them so I’ve been living in leggings 🙈
I have this issue. I think that layering a comfy long-sleeve or turtleneck underneath works with many dresses. I just put my hair up or I feel stumpy with a turtleneck. Also, ponchos can be really nice, or one of those poncho cape things with sleeves. As far as easy footwear, I thrifted a pair of platform chelsea boots. The elastic means I don't need any help putting them on. The height keeps my feet dry, and I can wear them with most outfits. Also, for my very summery dresses, pairing them with darker colors and accessories makes them feel more winter appropriate. And slips. I never appreciated slips until now. I just sized up, they aren't pregnancy. But I have become very sweaty and they add a layer of protection so my dresses don't stick to me or my tights with static electricity.
Ah thank you friend. I am very grateful to have some clothes I feel good in this time around. And hoping this video can helps other mamas feel good in their skin too. Hope you are well! Sending love your way ❤️
Oh that is a great idea! Let me know if you can think of any questions that would be good to include. AND thank you! So kind, I really am so grateful to not feel like I want to hide this pregnancy, so hoping I can help other women feel confident and comfortable too with their clothes. Thank you for the video suggestion, that helps a lot ❤️

For winter you can even use sweaters over dresses by knotting them as well!!

Right? I wish I had before I had the baby! I still love dresses just with a cardigan and some pregnancy leggings and boots.
