I am planning on ordering the exact color and wheels. Looks so nice. I plan on waiting for the new redesign Y though, but after seeing your Y, maybe I should've ordered one when I needed a car. I did purchase an interim car a month ago, a 2023 Camry SE, until Tesla releases the new Y for 2024, so I am in no hurry, since my new car has a 3 year warranty. I can't wait to see the new Highland 3. That will give me an idea on what the new Y will look like.

Both seat colors are resistant to stains, it’s your choice which looks better to you. You can ceramic coat then when you get them to resist better. Good luck
Did Andrews Y have the 4680 cells? If so, different charging settings and mileage would be an interesting topic. Sorry, was answer below and I'm sure that is what accounted for the early delivery.
Dave as always great great videos I know this is the first time I’m weighing in but the work you do the information you provide is the best very detailed I love it. I do have a couple questions though. I recently purchased a model Y performance in the last 30 days my question is regarding Range it says it has 303 miles of range. I know this is based on the way you drive etc. I get that. But my question to you is when it is charged to 100% should it say the 303 and go down from there or does the guess oh meter have it calculated based on the way you drive because when I charge to 100% It only gives me 292 miles of range. Kevin the range is an EPA calculation based in city and Highway driving. You can get 300 miles at 55mph and 240-250 at 75mph with a full charge. I suggest you charge to 80-90 % on a regular bases and service higher for long trips or if you need the range in one go. Watch some of my traveling videos and watch hope I use the and plan the trip once you get the hang of it your range anxiety will fade. Good luck
The Dashcam SSD tends to be small (128GB) and those devices can be unreliable. I replaced my SSD with a 1024GB (1TB) drive so it doesn't fill up too soon. You can pull the DashCam SSD and plug it into a PC to copy all the videos.
The Tesla UI ( user interface) is superior to car play and android auto. This are circa 2010 graphics. They do not integrate with the car for navigation that includes charging. Just use the Tesla UI you will thank me.
It's still sad that new owners still have to go around the Tesla and check for panel gap fit. I've never had to do that in my life and have bought numerous NEW cars. Maybe Tesla has improved their quality for fit-and-finish. Glad to see Texas making them now.

I can either order a brand new model Y for about 70k or I can get a used model x for 2018 for about 70k... What would you suggest I do? I recommend buying new for a couple reasons. You get the latest hardware, it supports new software which includes upgraded display speeds. Second if you decide to sell and upgrade you get most of your investment back towards your next Tesla. But New

My battery pack is a bt42!! 82 kWh battery pack from Panasonic. All the codes are found on your envelope for your 2 Tesla cards!! Even the Tesla guys were not aware of this information!!
Andrew, ongratulations on receipt of your new Long Range Model Y. It will be interesting to know what type of battery you have 2170 or 4680. I have been told??????? they are producing the Long Range Model Y at Austin with the 2170 battery. I live near Tampa, Fl. and I ordered the exact same car except with the trailer towing option on February 28, 2022. They have moved my expected date 3 or 4 times. It went from August to lthe max of January 2023, then back to August 1-14. On Ausgus 2 they moved it out to October 25 to December 1, 2022. Now it looks like Congress may????? have finally passed the $7500 EV Tax Credit which i believe will start effective on January 1, 2023. which raises another BIG question. Would hate to take delivery of my car in December and lose $7500. I am Glad for you but very disappointed in Tesla that you got your car prior to me receiving mine. Can't believe the trailer towing option moved me down the list for delivery.
the $7500 is a Credit it in 2023 and not $7500 off your bill at time of sale, that point of sale credit starts in 2024! You only get at least $3750 in 2023 based on the 2 pieces that are listed on the bill. It still needs to be signed by the president first..I am hoping more people delay so I can get mine faster. I don't care about the credit you would claim on taxes, point of sale, I would but I am not waiting until 2024.
@@happyhippo1710 I wouldn't count on getting yours faster as the games I see Tesla playing with the delivery dates. I for one would like to know how the delivery dates are justified. Apparently, it is not like you get in line as one would think. Andrew was able to get the exact car and color i wanted in two months and I have been waiting since Febraury 28th with estimated deliveery dates bouncing around like a ping pong ball. The only difference was that mine had the towing package which could have easily been added at the service center.

It amazes me when the new owner scrutinize the tesla like it's a million dollar hand build super car, its not. It's build by robots, and it's perfect for what it is.
How do you know it's an Austin car by the VIN number? Can you make sure you get an Austin car and is it possible to decline a delivery if it isn't Austin made?
Nothing like paying $70k+ for a vehicle that comes with QA issues and rides like a buggy...every defect in the road you will feel, especially with those 20" wheels. It's incredible what we put up with because the technology is so incredible! I love my MY but it is what it is, the ride (I chose the 19" to help) can be embarrassingly bad. There is no reason for Tesla to not include air suspension on MY considering the price point. It doesn't need to have the advanced or auto adjusting suspension like the X or my Model S but they could do much better. It's the main knock of the MY IMO.
302 miles? I thought these Austin Model Ys had a range of 279. Are they now producing a LR version? The 14-50 plug: "Nobody ever used it." Bad conclusion. Most Tesla owners I know have used it with dryer outlets when visiting friends or family, as well as at RV Parks. NOT providing the UMC, like they did with my 2018 Model 3, is a big mistake. In my not-so-humble opinion, every EV should come with a mobile charger for both 120V and 240V.

Most likely Tesla is a good car but their Delivery service is worst than any third world country. I ordered my MYLR on 06/22 & suppose to pick up the car from Owing mills , MD. I went their 3 times & still no car. 1st visit 12/17, identified paint issue on the rear door & they need to replace the door & suppose to update me(no update). I went their 12/23 2nd time, sales rep told me, he forget to call & car will be ready 12/24. I’ll get call in 12/24(no call). Sob I call & they said car is ready. When I was there they told me the door is not installed yet & they moved the date 12/26 most likely they’ll miss the date too. In the mean time, my bank is charging me interest & I do not have the car. Tesla outsourced delivery date checks on to the customers so u don’t identify any issue & most likely u’re not gonna identify any issue as u’re waiting months for the car & U’re excited. The delivery folks don’t communicate with u if u have any issue. I just don’t know why Tesla don’t outsource their customer service to east Europe or India. If u have any issue with your car then u’ll have horrible experience
Sorry to hear about your delivery experience however, the delivery experience at the Matthews North Carolina Tesla store is great so it must be a regional issue next Tesla do not have it delivered to your store where you picked it up

It arrived 4 months early, we took delivery 3 days ago, so aug, Sept, Oct, Nov, Andrew said it was due in December I think

Something to consider for the frunk is an Electric Frunk from EVOffer - I worry about denting my hood when closing the frunk.
Just gently push with both plans of your hands on both sides of the logo gently until you hear the Drunk latch. No damage

Look online for Tesla Voice Commands of which there are about 100 or so. Some are pretty amusing like "My butt is cold" or "Beame up Scotty"

Always check the underside. Could have gotten damaged during shipment.

How do you know it's an Austin car by the VIN number? Can you make sure you get an Austin car and is it possible to decline a delivery if it isn't Austin made?
you'll see an 'A' in the 11th digit. otherwise it would be an 'F' A for Austin, F for Fremont

Nothing like paying $70k+ for a vehicle that comes with QA issues and rides like a buggy...every defect in the road you will feel, especially with those 20" wheels. It's incredible what we put up with because the technology is so incredible! I love my MY but it is what it is, the ride (I chose the 19" to help) can be embarrassingly bad.
There is no reason for Tesla to not include air suspension on MY considering the price point. It doesn't need to have the advanced or auto adjusting suspension like the X or my Model S but they could do much better. It's the main knock of the MY IMO.

302 miles? I thought these Austin Model Ys had a range of 279. Are they now producing a LR version? The 14-50 plug: "Nobody ever used it." Bad conclusion. Most Tesla owners I know have used it with dryer outlets when visiting friends or family, as well as at RV Parks. NOT providing the UMC, like they did with my 2018 Model 3, is a big mistake. In my not-so-humble opinion, every EV should come with a mobile charger for both 120V and 240V.
Mark this is a 2170 battery in this Austin car therefore it’s the standard 320 range I think
@@evdave528 Ah… that explains it. Thanks! If it's a LR, then the rated range is 230 miles. Months ago, I suspected that Tesla would also install 2170s in the "structural" frame in Austin. Others told me "no way." Guess I wasn't crazy after all.

Most likely Tesla is a good car but their Delivery service is worst than any third world country. I ordered my MYLR on 06/22 & suppose to pick up the car from Owing mills , MD. I went their 3 times & still no car. 1st visit 12/17, identified paint issue on the rear door & they need to replace the door & suppose to update me(no update). I went their 12/23 2nd time, sales rep told me, he forget to call & car will be ready 12/24. I’ll get call in 12/24(no call). Sob I call & they said car is ready. When I was there they told me the door is not installed yet & they moved the date 12/26 most likely they’ll miss the date too. In the mean time, my bank is charging me interest & I do not have the car. Tesla outsourced delivery date checks on to the customers so u don’t identify any issue & most likely u’re not gonna identify any issue as u’re waiting months for the car & U’re excited. The delivery folks don’t communicate with u if u have any issue. I just don’t know why Tesla don’t outsource their customer service to east Europe or India. If u have any issue with your car then u’ll have horrible experience
Sorry to hear about your delivery experience however, the delivery experience at the Matthews North Carolina Tesla store is great so it must be a regional issue next Tesla do not have it delivered to your store where you picked it up
