I always seem to get a splat in the field of vision too.
I had a 2003 GT2, in Arctic Silver with a baseball glove leather interior, the seatbacks and center tunnel factory painted to match the outside; that was the best car I ever owned, I should NEVER have sold it. There are a couple of old videos on my channel, of me going around Laguna Seca in it.
Good driving but Christ is that GT2 a monster! The way it Chase's down some of the new metal from Porsche is crazy. I've driven a couple 991GT3s flat out and that 996GT2 crushed them.
Driver was silky smooth ! I’m a member of NNJR who hosted the DE and I know the drivers of 4 of the cars he passed; they are fast. Would love to know the name of the driver because I would like to watch more video of his driving style.

They are monsters that is for sure. Hard to beat the available torque the GT2/996TT offers.
He takes some wonderful lines, and he certainly has better brakes than me, and more grip!lol
That is one seriously quick circuit with all those cambered turns! Would need some commitment in a GT2

Lovely driving. Amazing that they allow driving with the windows open though, a real no no on UK track days.
One of the differences between here and there. Windows down was MANDATORY in the US
@@JayEmmOnCars Late to comment but it's even more impressive since this was the last true "widowmaker" 911. No electronic aids or traction control, from the 997 onwards those were standard on the GT2

please tell me you're not referring to the porsche's as beetles? have you looked at the records for the nurburgring? like half of the top ten times are held by these "beetles"
