Oh Lord I thank thee for this day

I was feeling religious, so I wrote a hymn.
Here's the text I came up with
Oh Lord I thank thee for this day
To have the chance to fast and pray
Lest my sins should weigh me far down
And keep me burred in hell's ground
Oh crucify my flesh God, Thee
That I might live eternally
Left to myself I will be naught
Slave to my passions I am caught
Oh blessed mother take me through
Your humble mantel close to you
I am scared of my Holy God
For in my sin, His love defraud
Knowing I sin to get along
A wretch I've been for far to long
I dare not speak His holy word
And live my life in ways absurd
Called to proclaim, by act and deed
The Christian lives by thy creed
And let's all things come to what may
If only Jesus he can say
So take thy tong from heaven high
Towards my mouth please purify
That like thy prophets I might be
Clothed by your blessed canopy
