as far as i know, shouldn't the max/min line be drawn more like this?

instead of linking all the upper limit together as a line for max

Good question - the reason I linked all the upper ones together is because the key piece of data I wanted to take from the graph was the X-intercept. If you want to take the gradient of the graph then you do the error bars slightly differently, yes.
