I know some countries increase the prices when they see you are foreigners. But this is small kampung, and in Malaysia I think that kind of jacking up prices for tourists is very rare. It has to do with honesty and integrity. Also, you not going to get rich by swindling a few tourists. I went to China and Vietnam, and at many places I knew they were increasing the prices.
Yes in many countries people always try to cheat us with the prices of the food and it’s mostly in touristy places where people have more work opportunities than in small villages, in small villages people are always honest, poorer but honest and honesty goes a long way in life. Anyway, in Malaysia that’s not the case as we find the people always fair and honest 😁😁
One good reason most likely due to strong Islamic values as profiteering is illegal in Islam - can't simply jack up the price for whatever reasons, especially when you're technically "guests" in our neighbourhood. That's why some traders even gave out freebies as honouring guests is encouraged, or you may stumble upon people welcoming you to their homes and offered foods.
The price in small rural areas are always miles cheaper, because they sell not to be rich but only to have a decent life. And usually they have their own regular customers.
I am most grateful to God. Malaysia is such a hidden gem. Some are lucky to find it, and both of you are some of the luckiest guests. Come back again to Malaysia with your family and friends. To know Malaysia is to love Malaysia.

Hi, have you guys tried Nasi Dagang Terenggganu? Lovely rice dish. From the looks of it, I am guessing your next destination is Kuantan? Moving south from Kota Bharu - Terengganu - Kuantan. If you have the chance to stop by a town called Chukai at Kemaman, which is about 2 hrs on the road from Marang and on the way to Kuantan, you guys should try the coffee and food at a coffee shop there called Hai Peng Kopitiam, an old school coffee shop established in the 1940s. Serves great coffee & toasted buns with half boiled eggs.
We did try nasi dagang from Terengganu you can watch our latest video where we had the best one with the best views 😁😅 We did not stop in chukai maybe next time 😉😉
@@Travelgramers if you guys are in Kuantan, there are a few good makan places along Jalan Besar, Kuantan. There's a very famous mango cheese cake shop called Kula Cakes.
