    They didn't do 3rd row because of the hybrid battery. GX is currently gas only. I only know because I wanted a hybrid 4runner but only the gas models get the 3rd row! Maybe when tech improves and batteries get smaller.

      In Australia we have the third row on top of the battery system..... the design and set up is terrible. it sits 25cm above what would have been a flat floor with spaces all around to lose things into.... it has to be seen to be believed (it is terrible for a premium cost vehicle)

    Wow, great reveiw. I'm not a fan at all now. I just traded in my GX460 for just about all the same reasons. I ended up with a 2013 Sequoia and I LOVE it!! It has everything and then some.

    It’s definitely flawed, no disputing that. But it’s also objectively good looking and undeniably cool. Just wish it offered the 3.4tt V6 in its GX550 sister.

      Good looking is highly subjective. It looks like arse.. and the doors close with the tinniest sound that makes my Subaru feel solid in comparison. After I sat in the 250, walking back and getting back into my grenadier felt like a couple tiers upgrade in terms of solidity

    With all due respect, the 2nd row legroom issue is caused by having seats in modest recline while also pushed back for tall driver. I don’t disagree with majority of your points, but as a 6’5” dad I know that reclining seats even slightly has big impact on knee room angles / rear facing clearance when 2nd row bench is setup in elevated stadium seating position. I love your channel and not trying to be critical, but just wanted to flag for other tall viewers out there.

    I own a Sequoia 2025 and must say, its really nice inside. You have plenty of space ( ummm unless you look for trunk space), but its wide, its' fast, and navigates really nice. The only thing is trunk, and the width for parking it around in a busy city. It feels more like a truck then a car. But, compared to the Squeezed Landcruiser, - I would describe the landcruiser ( the new one ) as a LEGO SUV. They lowered the standard for this car big time, ( i am a Toyota FAN ), decreased the size, shrunk it big time, and put a hybrid battery that takes a bunch of space.
    In the Sequoia, putting stuff in the back is horrible. I recently had someone with a wheelchair visit for some time,and it was horrible. Lifting the wheelchair and putting it on top of the folder 3rd row was the worst !!!!! None of this would happen in a PILOT, or Grand Highlander.
    Fuel economy is horrible too, but that is expected from a twin turbo 6 cylinder (Sequoia), and 4 cylinder for a landcruiser. (is fast, lots of pickup but it feels narrow and like 1985 Toyota).
    There are options out there but the reliability of Toyota is nowhere to be found. You can get any other car, but you will be spending in repairs as they approach the 60k.
    Think well before investing in a LC or Sequoia, what your needs are, and how you would feel dealing with the small negatives every day, if you need to or have to.

    FJ Cruiser at Land Cruiser Pricing... This is NOT a land Cruiser regardless of what Toyota wants people to believe. Toyota has really lost it's way with providing quality very capable vehicles at an affordable price. all the cheap plasticky bits remain yet the price point has sky rocketed. Literally creating 3 vehicles off the exact same parts bin (Tacoma, 4Runner, Land Cruiser) and zero cost savings to the buyer.

    I was one of the first people to see the new Land Cruisers on my local Toyota lot. I just so happened to be there on the exact day the first models were delivered, and I was so excited to see it! I remember opening the second row door and seeing how narrow the middle seat was, and veing immediately confused because a 5-passenger 4runner has a wider middle seat. I quickly realized that you have a good 2 or 3 inches of bench near the doors that's pretty much useless. I was disappointed! Who made that choice?

    Toyota is overdoing the badge engineering. Reminds me of the Chevrolet, Buick, Pontiac and Oldsmobile days when each brand carried their version of essentially the same vehicle. The next issue Toyota has is they leave off desired features or handicap one vehicle from another in order to help differentiate it. Examples are lockers, premium seats and sound, 3rd row seating, bigger engines, etc. 4Runner, Land Cruiser, GX550, Sequoia and LX600 all share the same platform. The 4R, LC and GX are virtually identical in dimension with the 4R having slightly different lines from the nearly identical boxy LC & GX. I wish they would have created a Land Cruiser brand to be sold by Toyota - bring a truck variant like they have in Australia. Then sell the 4Runner as the entry LC model then offer a slightly larger more powerful / capable unit (ie Prado 300) as the larger model. Lexus can have the exact same vehicles except they add what Lexus does which is sound proofing / deadening materials, better interior finishes, better audio, longer warranty, a couple of really sharp colors, etc. Instead nobody is happy as every vehicle is missing something.

    Too small, too expensive for what it is, grossly under-powered, and the ridiculous hybrid battery makes the rear load area 6 inches higher than it should be. I like the way it looks, but there are just so many bad decisions in this thing I'd never consider one.

      @@jensdriller1160 - I realize you failed reading comprehension in school, but I didn't say anything about off-road performance in my OP. Also, the points made in my OP are facts, not opinions. The lovely lady in this video demonstrated why it's entirely too small and cramped for most people. When asked what they thought of the LC, the salesmen at my local Toyota dealership called it overpriced trash. And Hagerty recently did an in-depth review of why this is one of the worst power trains Toyota has ever put in one of their vehicles. They also demonstrate how the battery ruins the rear cargo compartment and why the GX550 is the only true LC on the market.
      I realize you've drunk the Kool-Aid, but if you're going to make obtuse, puerile comments like that, you should really learn to read properly.

    • @meadmaker4525
      @meadmaker4525 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@jensdriller1160 - You realize the car is not strictly for off-roading, right? Just like 99% of Wranglers never see a trail, 99% of these LCs won't leave the pavement, which is where they fail pretty badly. It has tons of power off road because it's constantly in low range, exclusively using it's EV motor, which provides more torque than the tiny ICE engine ever could. In fact, that tiny ICE engine would never move those 40s without it. Once you get past about 1700 RPM, the EV motor is done and all that's left is the ICE engine, leaving the LC significantly under-powered where it'll spend the vast majority of its life...on the road.
      You keep trying to return to one very specific use case, which most LCs will never see and literally no one else was talking about in this video or my OP, to try to justify your fanaticism. Which brings us back to reading comprehension, again.
      You have to learn to look at these things as a whole instead of ignoring 95% the facts and just cherry-picking one detail, saying that makes the whole thing great. You're just not making sense. But I'm not here to deprogram you. If you want to ignore reality because that one shiny detail has you mesmerized, that's on you. They say ignorance is bliss.

    • @meadmaker4525
      @meadmaker4525 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @ - LOL, you've literally just accused me of everything YOU'VE been doing this entire discussion.
      Off-road use was never mentioned in my OP, but YOU pivoted the argument there as the only instance you could find where the LC performed well, repeating talking points by other reviewers whose (not who's) maxim is to go viral. You literally haven't provided a single counter point with any real data in it, just cult fanboy drivel and fiction. On the other hand, I've shown exactly why the points I made not only have merit, but are actually true.
      If you like the LC, that's fine, you do you. Just don't try to gaslight or troll everyone else.
