Hey. I just finished a one skein shawl by joji while watching. And after i continued on a unplanned shawl. I was in my retreat trying to make a cardigan in this yarn but it didn't work out at all. As i lost my needle bag in my friends car on the way i had not many choices for what to knit instead. So i cast on a simple shawl called jujuy by joji with it. Now I am back home and need to decide on more projects. Have a great day
You made the right decision Ange. So far the only thing l had to frog and reknit was a ripple crop top because l managed to twist the cast on stitches , but it was only a day's knitting lost.
Project reconsideration 😄. I totally agree about the yarns. The colours should work but they just don’t. Your hobbledehoy yarn looks gorgeous. I’m looking forward to seeing whatever it becomes. 🧡🧡🧡
Never a “failure” always a repurposing decision! A couple of years ago I knitted a shawl which I really wasn’t enjoying! Stupidly, rather than frogging, I kept going and by the end I hated every stitch. Needless to say it has sat in a drawer and I’ve never worn it! Your video has reminded me to gift it on to someone who will use it! Never again- I will always frog in the future! Your spinning is so beautiful and the colours in the fractal spin are amazing. I’m sure another design will work out beautifully. Thank you for this video- it has been an”eye opener!” Take care xx
That is one of the best things about working with yarn, it can be repurposed if things aren’t working out it never goes to waste 😃 I hope you find the perfect person to gift your shawl too 🧡
I don't call them failures; I call them "recycle decisions." I tried to do a modular sweater off a Vogue knitting magazine that I just said halfway through, "This is not happening." I frogged it with a smile on my face.

It seems a shame when things don't always go to plan, but at least you knew before you got too far into the Knitting that it wouldn't fit.and you've still got your lovely Handspun Yarns to look at. I don't have any "frogging" to do, but I've been spinning a Braid and have decided that I'm not loving how it's looking on my Bobbin and as ive already stripped it down I don't think putting it on my Blending Board would help as they're rather thin strips. Any hints or tips would be welcome. It can sometimes be frustrating but it’s also good to accept that sometimes thinks just don’t work out and it’s ok to move on or change your plans. That’s a shame about your braid of fibre. Do you have hand cards or a drum carder? You could blend you little strips together using those to really mix and heather the colours. If you could perhaps find another braid that goes with the one you’ve started and use your blending board to combine it with your smaller strips perhaps xx
Those yarns are gorgeous!! I've just started a wolop cowl for my daughter using pink scraps - I guess it can be part of you scrap Kal 😊 going away this weekend and I have so many projects I want to take!! But this is a baby one, started this morning 😂
I knit a Sungazer and I love how it turned out - as an art piece, I have never worn it out of the house. I'm uncomfortable with how short the "sleeves" are. All of the yarn used was from my favorite textile center garage sale, and I played yarn chicken and won, but don't have enough to make it more wearable for me right now. I am on the hunt for bits an bobs that can extend the sleeves, and maybe the "waistband". I may also knit another in thicker yarn to make it overall bigger.... I did really enjoy the techniques I learned...

I just finished the Javelin shawl which is drying and turned out gorgeous. The yarn was bought in 2008 and I think I started and ripped out four sweaters before using the yarn for this. When in doubt, rip it out!
Maybe FellviewFibres has some rolags or punis you could use - she has a ton of customizable colourways, maybe you find something that fits! :) I have a cardigan I haven't worked on in forever and I know that when I'll pick it up again I WILL have to frog several cms. It's 100% wool and I wanted it to be a little longer, maybe half of my thigh? But looking at it now, I guess it will be bathrobe-lenth once it's done ... And that's a bit long. ;)
