How sweet! I just walked in the door after 12 days away and my golden went nuts! The noises and excitement was wonderful. I missed him so much.
LOL I don’t think my dogs have a concept of time I literally stepped out of the house to get a water bottle from the garage, my dogs were watching me walk out to it and came back to the door my dogs were barking and yelping and jumping and wagging her tail as if they hadn’t seen me in years Hahah when the truth is I’m home pretty much 24 /7 ! That’s really good you trained Harlow to go over and sit when people come to the door!

This was so sweet. I'm an chronically ill army wife, and my husband just got a new job as a full time recruiter. He is leaving August 24th for 5 weeks. ugh Not ready :( lol I hate it when he goes.

Makes me feel so much better to see that my dogs arent the only ones that likes to give you “leg hugs” as we call it, when they are happy to see people they know. She is a cattle dog and it’s easy for her to go between peoples legs but then she tried teaching my service dog to do that and he is a Bernie’s Mountain dog and 27 inches tall. It makes me sad because I know he means well but it’s a safety thing too, I’m on the shorter side he’d make me fall over if he did it. But I love him and I’m thankful that he helps me.
Absolutely adorable. And love how you keep us in on the journey but at your own comfort and pace not to feel the need to vlog the whole day etc but still including parts of your life as we all love to stay informed. Xoxo

Y'all are such a cute family. You remind me of my family. I have chronic health issues, I'm married and have a Service Dog. I have EDS and many many other conditions 😞. But I try to stay 😊. My Service Dog Amber changed my life 🐶❤️.

I think you're right about dogs. My oldest son came for a visit today to announce that I'm going to be a GiGi! And when my SDiT saw him get out of the car, I had to open the door to keep him from climbing on it. He was whining, wagging his whole body, laying on my sons feet... my son just had to sit on the floor and hug on him. 💜

Saw a video where smell was tested, like the intensity of the person's smell disapates, so if they are routinely come back at a certain time it might be tied to smell....was very interesting. So now when I leave, I wear a shirt and then zip lock the garment, so every day she gets a new dose of my smell to reduce anxiety.

Hi Jacquie, I am a recently diagnosised potsie that also has systematic lupus. We've tried medications to try to raise my blood volume and vascular constriction and it's not helped for more than a couple weeks then I start to return to the same state I was before. Should I consider more invasive treatment plan? Do you have any suggestions for questions I should ask my doctors? I need something to change because I have no quality of life at this point I am totally miserable

What drand of toys do you get Harlow? My pups are chewers and haven't found anything that actually LAST.
When I was a child, we had a dog that seems to know what time it was when my mom went to pick us up from school and she also knew when it was time to pick up my dad from the factory job he had as an Electrician. It was amazing how that dog knew what time it was. She would get so excited when the time came to go some where. That dog died in 1977...and I still miss her to this day. Animalsl are awesome!

Chronically Amy - when are you gonna put more videos up? It feels like it’s been a while. Doing ok?
My das has had similar experiences with my grandma's dog when visiting her. We usually visit her every 2-3 days for 20-30 minutes or so, so he's (the dog, he's also kind of my dog ) is used to me showing up there with my dad, so when my dad shows up alone he'll walk to the door and greet him and then look behind him to see if I'm coming and then when I'm not there he goes back to his bed and looks kind of sad💔 and he knows my name too, so my grandma can't mention my name when he's around because he'll think I'm coming and run to the door😂 She said my name quite loudly once when I was talking with her on the phone, I was waiting for my train back home and I was 7-8 hours away. Her dog heard my name and thought I was coming, so he got all excited and ran to the door and then got really sad when he realised that I wasn't there and it was really sweet but also heartbreaking😍💔

Sidenote: I haven't seen my grandma's/my dog for almost a month because of a hospital trip and vacation right after😢❤ I miss him sooooo much!

I love how she tries to wag every part of her body in a completely different direction at the same time!
I am pretty sure dogs have some sense of time, because I definitely see differences in our dogs when I have been away a few hours or a day or 2 or a few weeks! And we have a dog with syringo (chiari malformation but with dogs instead of people) and a form of dementia (so she barely doesn’t have a sense of (short) time and stuff) and her reaction is different the last years in how she reacts when people have been away for a long time and her reaction is also different now when she is locked up in her bench after she ate, 1 or 2 minutes after she finishes eating she will react like she has been locked up for ages (she is locked up because we have 5 dogs and she is always ready first with eating and she steels the food of the other dogs)
My pain has been really high today so I needed those laughs. Thanks for sharing! :)

Maybe have judd take her to a self dog wash? That way she can be dry and the drying takes away that wet dog smell. And drying prevents skin issues and moisture being locked in her fur which causes smells. Especially around her neck and face area. It would do a great deal of good to dry her after bath time with a dog dryer.

Jaquie....I am thinking about getting a service dog for myself. I have seen things on videos that people do with their dogs, and I just seen something that I would like some information on, if you don't mind?
When you are being transported to the hospital's ER by an ambulance, is it customary for you to take Harlow in the ambulance with you, OR does she ride with someone else, such as Judd in your car?
I am just wondering if a patient is SERIOUSLY ill with the EMT/Paramedics trying to save your life while you are being taken to the hospital via ambulance, would it be wise to have your service dog in the back of the ambulance with you, and the Paramedic(or EMT)???
Also, I am trying to figure what would be the best breed for a service animal for me? I don't have a lot of strength in my arms, and at times I am very unsteady when walking. So, would a Golden be a good choice or perhaps another breed? PLZ advise, thanks!

Studies have shown that golden retrievers are the best dog to have and that Harlow is just the cutest dog! Jaq you look really good! You have color and you look better. Not that you looked bad..just pale..are you still doing CBD? I just got on it and after 4 years of having a dead gut and not being able to..do what I need to shall we say...and when I started it that literally flipped and normalized me. I was so happy. No more heavy laxatives for me. Is Jud still a policyman?
That would be very difficult especially if you had children....they cant understand things like that .....hippo looks as if she has missed him nut not the bathing....lol
