I love the mention of the symbol of baptism. Jesus going down to the Jordan to fulfill John's prophecy (I baptize you in water but that one that comes after will baptize you in fire and the holy spirit...) draws an interesting parallel with Nityananda foreseeing Sri Gaura's need to visit the love-groves on the banks of the Yamuna, where ever and anon the lovers of Kunja-bihari seek the shelter personal darshan. The ritual of baptism certainly points toward a purifying of heart and mind, as when the body is similarly cleaned by cold, clear water, it needs first to be stripped bare. And the courage of the soul to bear the shame of its naked imperfection in the eyes of eye beloved is Love, is trust, is vulnerability - its very life, hope and self.
