I have both and agree with your descriptions, but I like to bring the mini because as you mentioned, I mainly use it to hang stuff in bathrooms and the wall is thin enough that the mini works fine. I use it both to hang my backpack when i'm using the toilet or hang my toiletry bag when using a shared bathroom.
On a more rigorous trek I will take my small, but even a mini hooked on the strap of my daypack is useful... I find I only take them on trips 2/3 of the time but when I do I find them invaluable. For years I carried carabiners and even a lightweight s-hook in my dop kit when I wanted to hang it but didn't have the exact ledge like in a shower. Then the heroclip was invented and I was suckered in. I'm on my third one now. One was left in the seat pocket on a flight as I was using it to suspend a scarf (I call it my swinging ottoman hack .. a way of suspending my feet and avoiding swollen ankles on long flights) and one was left hanging from the curtain rod of my berth at a hostel a few years ago. Both times I immediately picked up a replacement so they are invaluable... just one of those things I have to remind myself to hook onto my pack 🤷♀️🤔👍🏻
Great video, I came searching for a review on the mini, as I wanted to buy one. I hadn't considered the width of a table being too thick. So you saved me some money, I'll just buy the small instead.
Crazy to think this content would be valuable but it totally is.... I don't have to go to REI or order them both to find out which one works after testing a couple of months in the wild. I reallly appreciate this video.

It's the best size IMO, mini is good for a gear pouch or toiletry bag but I think it's too small for most backpacks.

No the mini is not large enough to over a door, but the small is.
I brought the medium one and it was the choice for me
