I am literally writing down every single item for my Italy trip. This is exactly the look I was going for and I love that everything is so easily packed up. I added black stretchy jeans and a very light denim circle skirt to wear exploring (with my white T) but for the most part, you and I will match :) Thank you for this!
My daughter is headed for Israel for 10 months and her summer wardrobe will be heavily influenced by this. She will have other needs, outdoor hiking, and cooler weather as well plus she will be teaching so she will be bringing more items, of course. Im working on a January plan for 1 week in Hawaii followed by 1 week in Victoria British Columbia. My brother laughed at me and said pack for Victoria; all you need is a bikini and a sarong for Hawaii! He"s a funny guy who lives in BC. I want to live in your mom's closet! What great finds! Especially that crocheted dress and linen/cotton pants. I totally agree about armholes. Sometimes they are so big and so low I can see my entire back through the armhole when I turn sideways LOL. I can often times solve the problem by buying petite sizing. My travel clothing rules, since we do a lot of road tripping and never spend more than 1-2 nights at any given place are: No white, cream or wrinkly pieces. Pack light & when we arrive at my hometown in Spain, I get to wear my sister's clothes 😉, while my laundry is getting done. Hope you show us Crete and Puglia. Btw, would love to see what other treasures your mom has in her closet!
Love all your choices. Still looking for a shirt dress I like. Ditto on the too low armholes. I am in Colorado Springs visiting my son and family. Packed one dress for church, a lightweight cotton cardigan, one Bermuda length cut off jeans, 3 tank tops, one flannel shirt, one bathing suit, 4pairs of underwear, 1 Born cream leather flip flops, 1 sun visor, a flat off white shoulder purse. My airport attire is parachute cargo pants, a tank top, socks and Diesel slip on leather sneakers and my obnoxiously gold Bohemian Rhapsody back pack. It is good in the rain. I stopped bringing checked luggage a couple years ago and will never go back to anything except carry-on! My carry-on is also always a backpack to free up my hands. The ease and convenience is life changing.

Nearly didn't watch this older video but it was good fun. Also interesting to see some of your earlier clothing items. My daughter and I have travelled together several times, once with my son as well, and this has bought back happy memories. (By this I mean as adults. Travelled with them as little ones too of course but that's different.)
Hi Alyssa...just watched this video and relearned some things. We're flying to Europe for a three-week vacation Friday, and I am definitely going to pare down what I've packed so far. One thing I've learned over the years is if you stick to your own style and purchase quality clothing, you have a lot of leeway in how you dress. I've also learned that people don't really pay any attention to what you're wearing, so I need to be less self-conscious and go for wearing clothing and outfits that make me feel good. Your video reminded me I need to stick to a color pallet of no more than 3-4 colors. I have also packed way too many shoes, so I will pare that down also. I find your videos to be inspiring, and I want to thank you for sharing slow fashion videos with us. I enjoy them very much. So for now, I'm off to repack. ;)

I wear white pants when traveling, and I rarely wear black. It’s so nice to watch another woman unafraid of cream and feminine color. Comfort and style, a sense of what you want to be on vacation and the freedom to shop 2nd hand. Wow. And no athleasure wear. A kindred spirit. It isn’t what you’ve spent, it’s how you carry it off. Glad you mentioned the armhole issue with tops and the room that you have at your thighs with the denim short and also the sizes of them. Have a safe trip. I think the bloggers bring those kind hat because its part of the outfits that they are going to use for their content. And the fee for the bags with airlines is part of their expenses.

Looking forward to seeing some travel vlogs! We spent a few days on Crete years ago and just loved it. Hoping to go back some day. Have never been south of Rome (my Dad was born in the north) so Puglia is also on my bucket list. Love your clothes selection and I will take notes when I try to pack for a month away in November. I've only mentioned myself and my mom before in the comments, but my little sister actually lives in Puglia! In Cisternino, specifically. Her husband grew up there, and most of his family and friends still live in the area. I spent just shy of a month traveling all over the area (Matera, Lecce, Bari, Brindisi, Grottaglie, Martina Franca, Locorotondo) when we visited for the wedding (took only a carry-on). My mom (retired) spent nearly 3 months, and had a carry-on and a larger checked bag, though the larger one was full of wedding supplies.
Love this! Very brave of you to take a silk skirt, but I know what you mean about comfort in the summer! I usually bring a button or zip sweater to wear open or closed instead of a pullover style so the sweatshirt's also a brave move in my books!! Bon voyage - hope you and your mom have a fantastic time away!
haha yes - and a cream one at that! I'm a bit nervous but tend to do laundry often, and yes - a cardigan would be more versatile but i was excited to try out the sweater and the colour was perfect for this palette to break up the creams - I will let you know how it all goes down! Have a wonderful vacation Alyssa and Mom! Hubby and I only travel with carry on and did 3.5 weeks in South Africa awhile back ourselves. I was stressed about it as we were in such different areas (Cities - Johannesburg Capetown, safari, wine country to eat and relax and the Coast to dive with sharks), how would I pack appropriately? With packing cases ( such a great invention) we managed and I learned this - I still took too much! Go figure - at the end of the day, like you mentioned, you wear what’s comfortable and loved and no, you don’t need ten pairs of 👠😉. Enjoy your travels!

Great ideas and inspiration. Thanks and ha e a marble iij s time in your trip! What I find when I am packing is that toiletries and makeup are so bulky and heavy they counteract my minimal packing program. Of course I try to bring multitasking products and small sizes but still seem to end up with so much stuff. I would love to get some ideas on how to improve on this aspect of packing. Especially for a longer trip.
I am surprised that you bring just 2 tshirts with you and No Cardigan and Hoodie. I just came back from a one week holiday on a German Island and the saltwater and Sand and sun (cream) left dirt etc. So I needed 4 T-Shirts and 2 camis. And there were rainy, windy days. But Not in greece and italy I guess 😉🤗have very much fun!!!
haha we've been lucky with weather in those destinations in the past and I've always brought heavier items which I never tended to wear. I am curious to see how many times I have to wash my tops and if another tee or cami would be warranted .. stay tuned! I'm always learning! Thanks for watching!

Oh I hope you and mom have a wonderful time! I just got back from a week in the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and a week in Austria 🇦🇹 ! I packed almost identically to what you are bringing, but never wore the dress or skirts that I brought because the garden party I attended in Austria was raining heavily so I just wore white jeans and white blouse....no matter! It was fabulous! Oh and I did swim for a “minute” in the North Sea! Quite a bit colder than my Emerald Isle NC! Enjoy and safe travels!

Glad you mentioned the armhole issue with tops and the room that you have at your thighs with the denim short and also the sizes of them. Have a safe trip. I think the bloggers bring those kind hat because its part of the outfits that they are going to use for their content. And the fee for the bags with airlines is part of their expenses.

Have never been south of Rome (my Dad was born in the north) so Puglia is also on my bucket list. Love your clothes selection and I will take notes when I try to pack for a month away in November. I've only mentioned myself and my mom before in the comments, but my little sister actually lives in Puglia! In Cisternino, specifically. Her husband grew up there, and most of his family and friends still live in the area. I spent just shy of a month traveling all over the area (Matera, Lecce, Bari, Brindisi, Grottaglie, Martina Franca, Locorotondo) when we visited for the wedding (took only a carry-on). My mom (retired) spent nearly 3 months, and had a carry-on and a larger checked bag, though the larger one was full of wedding supplies.

Love this! Very brave of you to take a silk skirt, but I know what you mean about comfort in the summer! I usually bring a button or zip sweater to wear open or closed instead of a pullover style so the sweatshirt's also a brave move in my books!! haha yes - and a cream one at that! I'm a bit nervous but tend to do laundry often, and yes - a cardigan would be more versatile but i was excited to try out the sweater and the colour was perfect for this palette to break up the creams - I will let you know how it all goes down! Have a wonderful vacation Alyssa and Mom! Hubby and I only travel with carry on and did 3.5 weeks in South Africa awhile back ourselves. I was stressed about it as we were in such different areas (Cities - Johannesburg Capetown, safari, wine country to eat and relax and the Coast to dive with sharks), how would I pack appropriately? With packing cases ( such a great invention) we managed and I learned this - I still took too much! Go figure - at the end of the day, like you mentioned, you wear what’s comfortable and loved and no, you don’t need ten pairs of 👠😉. Enjoy your travels!

Great ideas and inspiration. Thanks and ha e a marble iij s time in your trip! What I find when I am packing is that toiletries and makeup are so bulky and heavy they counteract my minimal packing program. Of course I try to bring multitasking products and small sizes but still seem to end up with so much stuff. I would love to get some ideas on how to improve on this aspect of packing. Especially for a longer trip.

I am surprised that you bring just 2 tshirts with you and No Cardigan and Hoodie. I just came back from a one week holiday on a German Island and the saltwater and Sand and sun (cream) left dirt etc. So I needed 4 T-Shirts and 2 camis. And there were rainy, windy days. But Not in greece and italy I guess 😉🤗have very much fun!!!
haha we've been lucky with weather in those destinations in the past and I've always brought heavier items which I never tended to wear. I am curious to see how many times I have to wash my tops and if another tee or cami would be warranted .. stay tuned! I'm always learning! Thanks for watching!

I'm curious to know exactly how you pack your hat and how it fares on the trip--I love hats like the one you have but worry about packing them, and end up bringing something I'm less happy with style wise a lot of the time because I worry about ruining the hat I like more. Would love to hear more about how you manage laundry in your travels too-do you only hand wash? Do you wash the larger pieces by hand as well? I packed almost identically to what you are bringing, but never wore the dress or skirts that I brought because the garden party
I attended in Austria was raining heavily so I just wore white jeans and white blouse....no matter! It was fabulous! Oh and I did swim
for a “minute” in the North Sea! Quite a bit colder than my Emerald Isle NC!
