many interpretations prejudiced. (Some facts are wrong too)
      Eg.
5:49 u say "shahu maharaj became puppet of peshwas."
No!!!! until he was alive 1749, peshwas were never superseding chatra-pati.
It was only 1752-54 when peshwas instated their 1st puppet chatrapati (who was actually officially adopted n nominated by shahuji while he was alive.)
Peshwas (nanasaheb to be precise 3rd of bhat peshwa ) could exert their power over throne, only cuz of internal feud occuring post shahuji chatrapati . Thanks to tara rani (who was not reigning queen at the feud time 1749-54 neither of kolhapur nor satara)

      @ferzy09 no buddy
Shahu claims throne in 1707 , that time
balaji visjwanath bhat is just a clerk of dhanaji jadhao(who became senapati of shahu)
Bhat is made peshwa only in 1713.
*So he has grown his prominence slowly from 1711* until then he is a very good servant to dhanaji son , but indirectly serving/showing skills to shahu.
He was worthy of shahu's praise which gives jealousy to dhanaji jadhav son, n that's why all the drama upto him being peshwa in 1713 unfolds.
He in his lifetime(1720), or his great warrior son bajirao in his lifetime(1740) *had no de facto power over cchatrapati shahu*
All they had was absolute confidence of their master n relatively free hand(subject to smart checks n balances of shahu) to deal/expand as if they are rulers.
N they both never dreamt of superseding shahu.

While in the Air Force, I was in Gwalior India for two weeks. We got to visit the Maharaja palace which is more of a museum now. They had a dining room with a silver liquor train that ran over the table. They had a two ton chandelier hanging in the ball room. The legend was that the Maharaja had two elephants walk on the ceiling to make sure it could hand the chandelier. It was amazing!

Well presented , appreciate the effort to pronounce names properly. Kindly consider couple of points when updating the version :
    a) True India was a collection of kingdoms, but unlike Europe the kingdoms were bound by common civilisational ethos based on sanatana dharma. Hence any internecine wars wete more a territorial issue for kings and hence common people and their life were largely unaffected .
    b) Pluralism had never worried hindus, but the Islam's assault and forced conversion was not accepted. Marathas definitely stood for hindus and their culture , but as unique people in the world the hindu marathas like the hindu Vijayanagar before them , never oppressed or differentiated their subjects on religious grounds nor inflicted genocide on the enemy's people that the Islam and European colonial armies used to do
    C) it is not correct to term Mughals as tolerant to hindus. It is just the extent of resistance they faced that made them compromise and do with subtle aggression like jezia tax , buying out some enemies, fostering marriage based alliance etc. Ofcourse Aurangazeb carried out unabashed atrocity on hindus.

      Paste-
Shahu claims throne in 1707 , that time
balaji visjwanath bhat is just a clerk of dhanaji jadhao(who became senapati of shahu)

This claim was bolstered when the complete lineage from Bahamani times to the previous times was traced and Coronation of Shivaji Maharaj took place

Next could you maybe do a family tree of Irish High Kings?
It would be a tough one to do as the high kings would come from many different houses (clans).
Its also tough to know when the Irish monarchy started so it would be easiest to big somewhere like 6th century or 8th century or whatever.

    • @mcfcfan1870
      @mcfcfan1870 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Just to add....
Ireland WAS a single nation back then contrary to one of your previous vidoes,
there was a single high king,
a single language, culture and religion,
      A single law,
And the Irish identity in Ireland back then.
Only thing is the system was very strange and unique to otehr counties.
      Simply explained....
At the top of the pyramid was the "Brehon Law". The laws of Ireland. No-one could change the laws and they were in place for hundreds and hundreds of years.
Then was the High King, he had little to no proven power but nonethless was the most powerful person.
Then was the four petty kings who ruled their small regions under the high kings, there was occasionally infighting between these kings and the high king was also one of these four regional kings.
Then there was the cheiftans of the clans, there were many clans with the petty king of the region being part of the most powerful clan in his region. These clans often infought with each other to become more powerful.
It was a very strange amd complicated system so I wouldn't expect that in the possible video at all but its just to explain.

As far as the family tree of the Bhosle dynasty is concerned, the video is absolutely correct when speaking of the process of adoption. There is a litany of situations where uncles adopt their nephews, ie their sister's son. This would also bring prominence to the family that the sister was married into. Some were even descendants of Shivaji's granduncle. There is a palace called the New Palace in Kolhapur where the Bhosle family still lives but the entire ground floor has been converted into a museum. There one can see the family tree in its entirety. It is so long and convoluted that it will make your head spin!
