- RCCB vs ELCB explains the difference between RCCB and ELCB. I have used animation to show the working principle of RCCB and ELCB during normal operation and fault condition.
At the end I have shown the main differences between RCCB and ELCB and why RCCB is now preferred.

Now I clearly understand thanks to animation
Great explanation 👌
i belong to safety profession & i have been asked multipul time by interveww regard this diff. i was searching for this from a long time and finally toady i got the 100 % idia . thanks alot

Thank you sir 👍🏻
this lecture is very clearly
My question: if I use the RCCB and change the sequence of the connection( L(RCCB) connected to N of load and N(RCCB) connected to L (Load), So what will happen? is it still working fine and detecting the leakage current?
Thank you for the clear explanation. Does it matter if the input and output connections are swapped?
Perfect and very clear your explanation.Thank you ❤
Good
If I understand it correctly then on the Mains after MCB I should use RCCB then regular distribution breakers right?
Thanks for the clear explanation

YOUR TEXT DISPLY IS COVERING (COMES OVER) THE DIAGRAM . THANKS FOR EXPLANATION . WHY THERE IS 2 RINGDS SHOWN FOR CORE BALANCE CT .? SINCE BOTH PRIMARY AND SECONDARY WINDINS ARE ON BOTH THE RINGS ??
2 rings only represent core. And i ll move the text
hi sir, you earned new subscriber.
thanks for sharing.
i have a few question.
1) why ELCB using 50V to trigger tripping?
2) for ELCB if any personal touch live part, current will pass through the personal only and not going to the earthing. This means no protection for people at all? so this ELCB only operate if live part touch the earth part? correct my understanding sir.
1.The ELCB (Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker) is typically set to operate at voltages higher than 50V for AC (alternating current) and 120V for DC (direct current) before it triggers.
2.If a person touches the live wire, the ELCB might not trip immediately because the circuit is open, and the current may not directly flow to the ground if you're not in contact with earth.
thank for seen.🥰
Hi Sir, I have a 48V battery operated equipment. This equipment has a metal enclosure and is not connected to Earth. Can I use an ELCB to protect against shock hazard?
Below 50v it's not required
Thanks

Tell please how to distinguish between them. What features have labels on their bodies?
Elcb mai earth conection ka terminal rahta hai jaha se earth in hoke out hokar sabhi equipement mai conect hota hai jabki rccb mai earth ka conection nahi hota hai earth ka conection sedhe equipement se hota hai
Hi. If ELCB is operated through the voltage, why the ratings shown as 40A/30mA?
ELCB comes in both voltage ELCB and current ELCB based on voltage and current sensing respectively. But the sensing phenomena is same and that is from the earth connection
@@electricallectures the thing is, you told in the video as the main difference between ELCB & RCCB is voltage and the current.
Sir, in your experience, which company RCCB, give better performance sir. give me advice
Any branded company like schneider, abb, or any EU brand, koreon or japanese
Good, Kindly explain the meaning of Residual and Nuisance current
Residual current is the resultant of phase and neutral current . And nuisance tripping occur when unwanted tripping occur due to sensitivity
@@muhammadwaqas427 well explained 👍🏻
How many RCBs should I use? is just one enough for entire house?
If it's 3 phase supply... recommend to use each phase 1 no of rccb..
Why does all equipment have leakage current?
Leakage current only flows where there is some leakage in the electrical network . Not every equipment has. But mostly it refers to the fault current which is undetected from breaker thats why we use these leakage breakers
most important is the RCD or RCCB protects humans ...... and ELCB needs earth connection to work
Yes true
ELCB has P and N terminal and how earth connection is made to ELCB In the diagram u show earth connected to ELCB .Is there separate terminal in ELCB for earth connection? It seems that earth is connected to load
VO-ELCB does have additional Terminations
to Earth Rods & to DFB E-Bar
could u show me the earth point in ELCB in any model?
So which one is better?
Obviously elcb has many advantages first it is more sensityve second earth connection is not required as in case of rccb
@@electricallectures Thanks for the explanation.
@@electricallectures 😵
Elcb, RCCB , design base is IEC 61008-2 according to this norms thease two working same principle e.g. earth leakage (current base)
Not voltage.
Obviously the main thing that trigger tge protection is leakage current flowing in earth link. But voltage sensing means as the magnitude of leakage current is increases such that voltage across the tripping coil increased to 50v it trips the circuit
@@electricallectures TRUE
This youtuber is talking abt VO-ELCB & you are on 61008
Love it
