Bally FATHOM 80+ HR Restoration completed! (Dr. Dave's Pinball Restorations)

Picked up a very nice 1981 Bally Fathom that I went nuts on with an 80+ hr restoration. Installed new home rom software which adds a skill shot in the ABC lanes and utilizes unused speech the original speech roms had encoded in them. Upgraded from the "Edsel" linear flipper mechs to the tried and true original Bally fiber plunger link assembly for a more precise flip. Rebuilt, assemblies, and bullet proofed boards. Optimized game play to make for one sweet Fathom pinball playing experience.

One of most dynamic and funny pinball machine
Nice work!! I have an original Fathom backglass that I was saving for a restoration someday. The Bally machines of that era were my favorite. I have a Xenon and Embryon also but both are in need of repairs.

I used to play this for hours at a time. It was easy to keep the ball in play for a long time. It seemed to me the flippers were a little closer together than some machines and thus didn't drain down the middle that much. And a little nudge could save it on the outlanes.
Your restorations are just beyond amazing Dave.. this table is coming next month for the pinball arcade and that makes me happy because it's most likely the only way I'm ever going to play this pin and early 80's is my favorite era of pinball.
