    This week on our MacGREGOR refit the name of the game was power!🔋🔌Whether its amps, watts, or horses we made a route to course through our boat and make it more like home.🐢
    The solar system was an educational learning curve. We had to figure out how to keep the solar panel connection to our convertor on our moving companion way hatch. But as they say necessity is the mother of invention 🤔 A lot of long nights of head scratching, and of course Youtubing, we made our way back to the 90’s and a good old coil phone style cable. It doesn’t matter how hard you try the 90’s keep coming back.
    And what’s the 90’s without a rock’n light show! Party on Wayne!🤘
    With all that power we need to remember to stay grounded! The rubber teak floor matting really changed the look and feel of the boat. We now have a more cozy, cleaner (biggy on our check list), and great sound dampener🙉 that makes it feel less like being in a Tupperware container.
    On the flip side, Mr.’s none too happy about the power on our boat. But given the way of the world right now our wants don’t always meet our expectations 😣 Sadly, we can’t get our hands on the 50Hp Yamaha that we want; but next year that is high on the list. However, if we are stuck with a motor for a year, we are pretty happy it’s a Honda.
    It’s been an absolutely emulating week💡and we are so excited that we are on track and still feeling good about our splash date!⛵
    See ya soon!

    Hi Guys, really enjoying your videos. Just bought a 26M thats completely stripped so have a blank canvas. Love the LED lighting strips and would like to do same. Could you share the details of which ones they are? Your OB motor servicing has inspired me to do my own too. Thanks a bunch.

      Thanks for reaching out! We have been having the best time on our boat. All the work before was worth every minute and servicing was very easy and there is a ton of resources online to accomplish the task! The LED lights we purchased were from AMAZON the brand was Genrics 16.5 FT LED Waterproof music activated lights. Hardly use any power, but add a lot of light and excitement onboard!

    one recommendation i'd say is change the solar pwm for a mppt controller. mppt is more efficient.

    Hi Guys. Great work. Can you give a brief description of the solar panel, controller, inverter setup. I’d like to have a similar setup as well. Our boat came with solar panels that haven’t been installed. Thanks!

      Hi there, I set up a 12 Volt Marine battery as a main starter, a switch to secondary power with 2x 6Volt deep cycles as house. The Solar was a complete kit that came with most the cables and the controller. I got it off of amazon brand name was Giosolar, its a flexible 120W panel, and a 20A PWM LCD Solar Charge Controller (not crazy about the controller but it works well.. probably upgrade it in the future). I also got the invertor from Amazon. Its been pretty great so far, 2000W with a 4000W boost, brand name was Giandel. Good luck with your project and happy boating!!

    The boss and I have been watching your videos, subscribers now, and we've bit the bullet to buy a Macgregor. Pickup potentially Monday. Would you mind sharing which solar panel kit you are using? Thanks!

      That's awesome! You will love it I am sure, its a great boat! We have more new stuff coming to upgrade and we cant wait to share it. The Solar was a complete kit that came with most the cables and the controller. I purchased it off of amazon brand name was Giosolar, its a flexible 120W panel, and a 20A PWM LCD Solar Charge Controller (not crazy about the controller but it works well.. probably upgrade it in the future). It has done pretty well of maintain things on board. We found out the 12V that was on the boat when we purchased it is hooped so we will be swapping that out but so far everything has been perfect!

    Hi,
    How is the Rubber Teak Flooring is holding up? If you are still satisfied, which brand did you use? Thanks!

    • @sailinghonutime
      @sailinghonutime  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We ordered the flooring from Amazon. The manufacturer is Happy Buy Boat Decking.. Being from China not the most expensive but it has held up remarkably well. Stays clean, cool, non slip, and very durable. We have a few spots that adhesion was an issue, could have been prep?? But a little contact cement and its fixed.

    • @sailinghonutime
      @sailinghonutime  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We just ordered them from Amazon, peel and stick and 12volt. RGB LED Strip Lights 32.8ft Brand was Genrics. Cheers!
