It doesn’t count if you just have a model name that already exists and then put a person’s name after it like the Balboni or BC. Even BB don't count as nobody even knows it so how is that really a car named after someone when it's a 512 first?
Those are just models with a tribute instead of an actual model named after someone like the Elise or Senna.
Elise is a cute story but the BB is just incredible.
People had to believe that it's a Berlineta Boxer for 45 years when clearly it wasn't

To me, when you name a car after someone, you name it after someone. You don't tag a name to an existing model or use initials that nobody even knows. Even the Balboni is better than just initials if you are going to do that.
Maybe I'm just more American that way. You want to do something, just go do it. Don't be beating around the bush with it. If you can't because your company won't let you? Too bad. Go start one and do a Jesko or Elise.

MP4-12C as far as I know is McLaren Project #4 and the 12 is a number index for performance parameters compared to competitors and the C is for Carbon which is the tub as well as all the places they use carbon fiber to lighten weight.
It would be funny though if someone in the McLaren household was named MP4-12C like how celebrities like to choose weird names for their kids.

The F in Pagani Zonda F stands for Fangio.
And the JS in the model name of both racing and road going Ligiers stands for Jo Schlesser

The Zonda F is named after Fangio, Horacio's gateway to almost everything related to his company. He shown Horacio's talents to Lamborghini (where he developed a Countach fully made of carbon fiber and aluminium), and i can't remember the rest😅. But i know that the original C12 was going to be called Fangio [something]. And after Fangio's death, Horacio changed the name of his first car and idk why, because it would be cool to see the 1st Pagani as a tribute. But said tribute came afterwards, as the Zonda F (yeah, i don't remember much of the story, but still, i'm telling what i know)
Horacio changed the original C12 name because he didn't want it to be disrespectful to Fangio or something like that, so he changed it to Zonda

Fangio is supposed to mean Argentinian F1 Champion Juan Manuel Fangio and I had just began thinking about that after remembering that Horacio is Argentinian and born in Argentina and Fangio is from Argentina too like what I had just said so that's why I thought Fangio is supposed to mean Juan Manuel Fangio from F1

Just an information. The Seicento isn't the only car Fiat named after Michael Schumacher. There's also a Fiat Stilo MS Edition.

How about the Ferrari Dino -- engines and later on cars named for Enzo's late son (the one he acknowledged). Or the Alfonso XIII Hispano Suiza, named for the king of Spain at the beginning of the last century, often said to have been the first purpose-built sports car. Or every car MB has built for the past century, "Mercedes" having been the given name of Daimler Benz's Parisian concessionaire. The Bardot story is magic, btw! (Oh -- just remembered: Alfa Romeo named an edition of the 2000 GTV [the one with the de Dion rear] for Mario Andretti who was driving F1 Alfas at the time. )
All Aston Martin DB's are named after David Brown, who owned the company for a while. The tractor guy.

Wanna hear a sad story? Enzo Ferrari had a son named Dino at one point, and then at sone point in the 1950's he ended up dying. To honor him, old Enzo made the Ferrari Dino 246, one of the most rarest, most beautiful, and most timeless cars from the Italian Stallion.

Another awesome vid! A customer of ours has one of these special edition evoques , the rose gold is just a sun faded bright pink it looks terrible, our customer also hated it and got all the trim repaired after a few weeks...!

Half the TH-cam car guys try to be sharp and witty but at best they're annoying and at worse unwatchable. Stype is the best. Even if l don't agree with what he's saying l still enjoy hearing it. i think a "special edition" is stretching it a bit as "named after a person", especially if it's just a trim-level, considering the Enzo Ferrari is not a trim-level but a whole car. I mean the car's name is literally "Enzo Ferrari", some publications call it by default the "Ferrari Enzo", but when you Wikipedia the car, the name is arranged in the same order as the car's namesake founder. Very few car manufacturers have the audacity to challenge the naming schemes of cars like that, cuz usually the order is as goes: from left to right; model year; Name of manufacturer; name of model, engine specifications (like 4lit V6); sporty version tag (like AMG or GTR); body style tag; special edition tag.
well, I guess you're saying those publications and indeed Ferrari themselves are wrong, because it is NOT called the Enzo Ferrari officially, it's called the Ferrari Enzo officially; as seen in the maranello Ferrari museum.

@@TopCarsTV True Lambo's are uncompromising V12 Supercars. When they start sharing platforms and engines with other VW's, they're not Lambo's. The Gallardo/Hurican/Urus are all built with the "Groups" orgies. What gets born is anyone's guess where it came from.

In fact, the man himself pushed for them all to be offered with a MT, but Lamborghini probably saw that as a hard sell and offered it in e-gear as well. Sadly, most of them were ordered by customers in e-gear configuration.. sacrilege.. 🥺🥺
Because it would be more Balboni-ish to have a more enjoyable car, slower and RWD than the fastest lambo ever at the time with the SV's V12 and 4WD

Ferrari Dino isn't a model, it's a sub brand. Models were 206, 246, 208, 308

If it wasn't for that man, I'd have zero interest in cars let alone F1. I'm a german 90s kid. You think I'd have watched Heinz Harald Effing Frentzen every weekend? The shittier one of my brothers was into cars so I hated all that but then...a legend, a wizard, a hero appeared...who was named Shaquille O'neal to be honest but that's a different story. I already really liked Schumacher then and realized what a massive champion that dude was and STILL IS and therefore we don't make fun of him, we say "Keep fighting, Schumi" knowing we won't likely see him again but that's the morally right thing to do here. My sense of humor is crying his eyes out right now but I'm almost serious, he has a wife and kids who...can't move on really...it's too sad to make fun of
