I currently have the Neo Gens in 205/50-16 on a set of 16x8 Konig Dekagrams (one of MANY wheel/tire setups I own).
The tire, albeit considered 'dated' (since it's been around forever) is extremely impressive for ANY cost, but considering I paid $72.00 a tire for them not all that long ago, I feel like Nitto is basically paying me to use them!!
They stick like a 200 tread wear 'endurance' tire, while wearing like iron, are not crazy loud or filling loosening rough riding, and good in the rain when new, very good in the cold DRY weather, and OK on less than an inch of snow at full tread depth.
(Despite the UHP/MAX performance tread pattern, and 280 tread wear, they are actually sold as all season tires!)
It's funny, but a Honda kid was in the lot at the tuner place which put these on the Dekagrams as I was loading them into the car, and he asked me if they were going to be my open track setup, that's how impressive they look.
I kind of chuckled, but turns out, he was correct, as these could actually be used for some TNiA type open tracking/lapping/HPDE events, they are THAT grippy and responsive. 😉👍

Anybody needing new kicks, try Continentals, they aren't budget, but they're not priced like overpriced, over rated Michellins either. A few different ones to choose from. I picked up the True Contact Tours. Really good. Almost went with the Conti Lx 25s, but they were a bit more cash, with basically no difference in reviews and ratings.

Depends on size but best bang for the buck tire in 18-20 tires is the Firestone Firehawks Indy 500's. I've had 2 sets of Pilot Sport 4s, 6 sets pilot super sports, 2 sets of Pilot Sport AS3+ and 3 sets of the Indy500's. The Indy 500's is 80% of a tire to the Pilot 4s and 90% of a tire to the Super Sports plus they last another 5-10k depending on driving specs.

i remember getting ventus v2 instead of michelins...i forsure would have gotten 70-80k from the michelins......the hankooks only lasted 40k bc i went 10-15k w.o a rotation on FF. So one side was already worn out by around 8-10k miles vs the others give or take....so no big deal just put them in the back and run it 10ish k and keep an eye on the wear.......nail near side wall on the meatier fronts....had to put them back in the rear bc it was "borderline" as it was. So then boom the baldish rears had to go bye bye at 40k as i had to swap the damaged/ish ones with at least 10k life left on them as fronts back rear...where i expect to get at least 15k run more hopefully. But when those dividends at 125$ a tire vs 100$ add up....its like my dumbass is thinking 400$ vs 500$ thats a whole tires worth of $ IM WASTING. V2s peformed great especially in wet....but didnt last for nothing as a professional driver with some 2-300mi days in most cases on those peak days pure driving uptime in my shift no down time XD other than gassing up and hitting the HQ. The v2s had me regretting not paying the extra 100$ to insure me not having to buy tires within a year.....5k mi a month damn near 60k in the peak 2020 covid boom that cannabis market saw with the avg consumer at home working from home in insane statstical amount of tax returns and stimmy checks i seent spent on MMJ in 2020 let me tell you like i helped move these "RECORD sales" XD. I can say the v2s helped me not die or harm myself or anyone on various if not countless occasions. IM driving entire house holds worth of milage in a single year XD. You really learn the meaning of "budget" driving as a profession. Now if i owned expensive performance tires i only wanted to "abuse" on a track id consider the v2 for some abuse on the street i guess....but with no intent of them actually having efficay as a "budget' oriented tire or with expectations of 60k+ miles out of them no way in hell unless youre one of those people who commute 20-30mi max daily.

In my experience the Nankang NS25s didn't perform as well as advertised in any sort of wet; very often roads were just wet from a passed rain or melted snow and it'd slip pretty often. They feel fine and grippy on a normal day.

I disagree with the Toyo Extensa HP II
I own these on my mazdaspeed3 and I suffer from a few issues. They can't grip 1st and 2nd gear, they have terrible aging characteristics, they are useless in the wet (probably because of the poor aging), and they have almost no "center" feel on the freeway.
I would recommend a Khumo Ecsta instead. This was the tire I had on previously, they hold up better after 2 years and they do a better job of gripping when flooring it.

Once they are below 50% grip, these are absolute ICE.
Im warning everyone because it’s incredible how loose they are in those conditions. Not only have they risked both our lives, but cost up several wheels and two subframes. (One miata and one integra)

Surprised you don't have the Firestone Indy 500 tires as I'm riding on my fourth year with these on my 16 S550! Imagine a summer tire that's good for 8 months a year X 4...

Here’s a good tire for ya. Neoterra Neosport UHP tires. I’m running them and they are surprisingly very good. I’m running 235/45/18 98Y all the way around. Paid around $300 for set of 4.

NOOOOO!!! ABSOLUTELY NOT. WORST TIRE EVER!!! Tire never gets hot. Horrible dry handling and cornering. Horrible braking. Tires skip. Tires slip off the line. Tires slip on corners. Neoterra Neosport UHPAS suck. I’ve had Kumho ecsta PS31 perform better which are a summer uhp tire and performed amazing on dry and cornering, but slipped up in wet. The neoterra are the first set of tires that have absolutely scared me while driving them hard. Never would I recommend them to anyone with a high torque car or even a sports car. They lack everywhere. Horrible at comfort too. Potholes feel like the tires are going to pop each time. Speed bumps are the worst. Tires are like bricks. Highway speed noise is loud to the point I have to blast music to drain it out. And let’s not forget the lower tread wear life it gives over most tires. NEVER EVER EVER GET THEM. PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.

fwiw...the ventus v2 dont last very long if driven hard on FF....you have to rotate every 5k/oilchange or else. 2-300 mi daily in 2020 when i ran mine as a MMJ driver in so cal during the peak of the covid shutdowns and ppls tax returns/stimmy check orders etc. I went a few months w.o a rotate so give or take 10-15k...and it got bad and worse trying to get them to wear together. Eventually after various nail/repairs. And un-even wear/rotation i had to run 2 new fronts non v2...bc the nail damaged fronts that had more life as far as the ppl at the shop that know my background and can tell im "on the clock" when im on the road driving style...they advised me against running the reparied/damaged v2s up front for the remaining 10ish k left on them vs the totally burnt ones that had to go. yeah they perform well perhaps even above their price point...but they wear accordingly especially on FF cars. Also the "noise reduction" lines in theory are great on perfect tarmac....the 405 and 5 fwy in CA or socal is being widened from la to OC and all the concrete gaps that were once split between lanes and the stripes...are now in direct tire paths...these straight cut treads line right up with these freeway cracks/seams for miles and screaaaaam. I dont get the luxury of changing to a slower/nicer lane to drive in bc time is $$$ with this job. Lot of up time driving and heat/exposure. I mean for the price id consider them vs a 200$ tire if im only talking 10-20k miles difference between them. But i was expecting at least 60k i got around 40-45k. SInce i still got some in the back. They did infact help a lot with the rear end jumping up in my elantra that id experience with lesser tires. But taking the same down hill onramp 270 deg turn upwards of 10-30 times a day among the others elsewhere and offramps...really took a toll on these when driving hard. and the performance out of these for the 100$ price point is quite evocative...which only promotes this wear characteristic at least in FF. I got more fuel economic all weather tires up front now vs the v2s. And since they perform worse i drive a bit more responsibly by virtue. The v'2s taught me how to drive w.o breaking and really get the most out of my momentum and MPGs adding non v2's up front doubles down on MPG ngl. from the lack of capaiblity and the way v2s are just so fun to drive you really dont want to waste time breaking and speeding back up on the highway or being one of those fools that tries to hot rod in the right 2 lanes isntead of just mobbing at 80+ w.o tailgating in the fast lane. As they began to wear i really started driving with a tire conserving style that really bettered the smoothness of my driving and MPG. Idk if id run them again for Work purposes other than their wet performlance bc the uptimes/heat and nature of my job/driving and how these encourage high speed conrnering and turn initiation its just not a good mix...but i see they fit on my 84 z31 anniversary so ill give them a 2nd go there at 100 bucks a pop before i get a final verdict. Now that i have a company car on the clock...im going to expand my driving horizons XD i just hope i can get 50k+ out of them on the z. Which should be more viable considering the inherent aspects of FF tire wear breaking torque vector/steering angle IDK if i can recommend the V2 for FF driving or heavy/hard driving IMO the compound just wasnt designed for this type of use/abuse. As evocative as these tires are on wet or dry an insane qol upgrade on my elantra that is notorious for bumpster and the rear end knocking lose/losing grip the tread on the v2s are definitely good enough to consider running on my rear just bc its FF and it locks up in corners/straigts and turn initaion really good. Just that Inherent FF aspect to wear that makes them a pass up front for FF at least.

They have like zero girp. I feel like my non FI FR-s makes like 500hp with those tires on since I can get traction control to kick at 2nd gear on dry road and what would be a mild launch of 2.5K RPM turns into a burn out. They are ass puckering above 80mph.

Day 141 asking fitment industries to do an episode on so you want a lotus exige s.
I’m planning to change tyres from the factory crappy Bridgestone potenzza s007 to the Michelin pilot sport 4 s on our Megane 4 Rs. And the way the ps4s grip is crazy for a road car and pretty much those tyres is enough since I rarely go to track days and even worse can’t go to track days for a while becoz of COVID lol. If anyone has experience with toyo r888r and ps4s let me know 😊. (And put pirelli out of the way. Don’t ask me why coz don’t ask me). Which tyres between the 2 is best for daily driving, road noise, grip, good for a 300 hp hatchback ?, and some track days. And in the Middle East the only seasons are summer and winter.

I have the nitto nt555g2 on my 2000 camaro z28. 295 40 on 18 rear and 275 40 on 18 in the front. They’re wrapped on C5 z06 rims and I love the look and fit. Also excellent performance but at that size for a full set they’re definently not budget anymore

    • @jayisfedup6896

Its a nitto. Use to get a few tires from them on a budget. But since everyone is running them on the 4x4, the terra grapplers g2's. An become so popular as the go to tire for that set up. All nittos have gone up. They really have become a more high end tire. An I hate it. Nothing seems to last. Good deals that is.

Amazing tires. I actually just lost control of my Q50 last night and ended up taking my car through someone's yard. I don't know if you want to credit infiniti's awd technology and traction control or just God but somehow I was able to drive up an embankment, through three trees, back across the road toward a metal fence, turned the car back the other way, dodged the tree line and got the car lined back up without colliding into anything. I like to think I'm a decent driver, dispite this one incident lol, but I'd also like to give at least some of the credit to these amazing toyos🤙

eh I have to say NO to the ATR sport 2. Had constant balance issues with my TTS quattro. 265/30r19. The rears ended up both had belt failures. flat spots worn into them. They did have very good grip and could really hug a sharp corner even in cooler weather. never tried them in snow though.
