I like to come back to your early video's like this one every now and again. Definitely one of your better ones is this. They were all great in your early wild camping days like this
Really enjoyed the geology lesson. The water flowing off the mountain everywhere always provides that sense of un-corrupted wilderness. Untamed! Precarious tarp but fantastic valley. Appreciate your admiration for the place. ATB Mark.
Absolutely fantastic video my friend. Your editing techniques are getting more and more professional every time. Keep up the great work. I love these videos!
I was at Glencoe 2 years back and the views left me speechless. Your videos are excellent and inspirational to thousands. Good on ya mate! from a Scotsman in Western Australia.
Before you even spoke I had a picture of you being chased by a dinosaur from Jurassic Park in my head. That is a wonderful looking place & thanks for taking us all on the trip. You are both bonkers & brilliant at the same time ! Take care & all the best, Neil.
This video was one of the videos of your I watch over 5 years ago when I was looking to go to Glencoe . And I still watching your videos today like me meny people enjoy them keep up the good work
Always look forward to your videos Damo and this one didnt disappoint, spectacular views and reminds me how much I want to start wildcamping in those parts. Many thanks for sharing my man ~Peace~
Zed Outdoors We're spoiled for choice for nice places to camp in Scotland, I only wish our wild camping laws were as relaxed as those north of the border, Damian
Fantastic intro and what a stunning place. That doll head haha very funny.. I used to live in Holland they have tightened many rules up as to partaking in certain dutch heritage. :P Really enjoyed this vid
Got to say one of my favourites the content, editing, history just got everything if anyone is looking to make a wild camping video this is how it's done brilliant Damien 👍🏕️
Just stumbled across this and I have to say what a cracking film. I wild camped the Lost Valley in 2011 and didn't get the valley to myself either. quite a popular place.
Goodness man! Another great adventure. Great cinematography as well. What an astonishing place, truly a jewel of Mother Nature. Thank you for taking is along. -Jacko
Great video and very well produced. Clearly you had great fun, I'm sure everyone who watches will do too. I look forward to seeing your next adventure. Thanks for sharing. Best Regards.
Excellent video , if i had known you were up in the Glen Coe i would have popped down to see you i'm about 2 hours north of there , thanks for sharing, cheers Al
Well, what does it feel like Damien to be an inspiration? Because, that's what you have done to me. You have inspired me to invest in some equipment and venture forth into my local backwaters and experience a couple of nights wild camping. And, I am loving every minute of it. Mind you, it is not a new experience, simply something I haven't indulged for quite a few years. Nothing heavy mind, just a simple overnight pitch, a cooking of supper and a brew, building of a simple camp fire and then retiring for the night. Now that I am back in the swing of things as it were, I am thinking of adopting a bush craft name that reflects my new found status. I thought something like "Bear Haas" might fit the bill ( a certain Flemish ring to it that you could say) What do you think? FOL (Er....more tea Vicar?)
I have watched an uncountable amount of wild camping TH-cam videos recently, planning my first adventure. I have just discovered your channel and watched only this video and have to say this is the best I have seen so far, looking forward to getting into your other videos. Thanks :)
Just stumbled across your videos yesterday and I've enjoyed the couple I've watched so far, I'm also from Northumberland and you are right we are very lucky being in this part of the country
Going to do this myself sometime this year, going to spend the first night wild camping by the Kingshouse Hotel then walk to to Lost Valley for the second night. Can't wait!!
I had the same issue with my DD Tarp and stitched the loops so that my cord just fitted through - found it held the tarp much more rigidly after that. Not been to Glencoe for many years...nice video!
Brilliant video of an amazing place, a lot of the Clan used the Lost Valley as a place of refuge to escape the massacre, driven up that Glenn several times on holidays when the kids were little, always wanted to get to the Lost Valley and do exactly what you done, one day I hope, cheers for sharing, stay safe, atb, Paul.
Did this walk over bidean nam bian then descended into the lost Valley mint place. Great videos always keep an eye out for you on the wanny between Morpeth and Bothal. Great vids keep up the good work
Great video and a few laughs. it was your videos that first sparked my interest in wild camping, I went to isle of whithorn in August for my first ever wild camping trip for 3 nights it was fantastic I'm from Billingham Teesside and traveled up there on my motorcycle it was a beautiful ride. All the best 😊
Thanks brought back memories, came down from Bidean nam Brian though valley July 1991 when I was a young 48 yr old can still manage a Munro yet, but very slow. The patter was good. Corrie Fee in Glen Doll has a similar atmosphere.
Great stuff and what a place , within the next yr or so. I will be there for sure , I have fallen in love with the Highlands. Without even venturing there yet .
Looks like a great place to sketch and some watercolours. Relax and read a book and enjoy the place! Gorgeous, gorgeous! I go for my tent always. Tarps are trendy now. I don't want a snake for company, lol! You are in a good spot! You can't ask for more, I don't get the Spain thing either. All the over priced, crowds. The place where you are looks like it could inspire a thousand songs and poems.
+Lemon Squishy Thank you, Glencoe is the most beautiful place in Scotland, I only wish I lived a bit closer and could visit more often. Thanks for watching.. Damian.
Great video Damian, all those walk past the camera shots must be a pain to do at times but well worth it for great editing later, I loved the ending lol, it give me a scare before a giggle.
Tee Campez I wanted to do a high level walk and wild camp on Beinn a' Chrulaiste but it rained heavy most days and was to windy for tarp camping so high up. I love Scotland but not for the weather and can't wait to go back, ATB, Damian.
Scotland is indeed beautiful but then I'm totally biased :) Another fine video, always enjoy your videos, your humour and outlook is refreshing. Look forward to the next one. All the best Mac.
feel super lucky all this is a few hours drive from my doorstep. just remember the climate has a mind of it's own up there, always pack for the Arctic even if it's sunny :)
You hit the nail right on the head when you said "why would you go to spain"? We have an amazing country here to explore & enjoy! Great video mate...Glad to see you enjoy Scotland :) The laws here are great for wild camping aren't they!
+SherrysVloggin The laws regarding wild camping could easily change in Scotland so we shouldn't take things for granted. The people who disrespect the countryside have already caused wild camping restrictions in places such as on the southern shores of Loch Lomond so lets hope people will realise that these beautiful places are ours so long as we respect and look after them, ATB, Damian
Great stuff Damien, I will need to go there sometime for a camp after watching Eddies video and now yours, looks a fantastic place for a camp. Atb Glenn.
+South-West-Wilderness Thanks Glenn, It was Eddie's video's that inspired me to seek out the Lost Valley so we have him to thank. For those who haven't seen Eddie the Scots Wildcamper, check out his channel, here is the link to his Lost Valley adventure.. th-cam.com/video/tf3MB7FWv9I/w-d-xo.html
Scots Wildcamper Eddie, it was your video that I first learned of the Lost Valley so thank you. Its a very special place but too many people in summer if you want to be alone, best to arrive late and leave early to have the place to yourself. The approach to Glencoe is amazing from the east and I had to be careful while driving as I couldn't keep my eyes off the mountains, there was a car in a ditch on the side of the road just below the gorge and I reckon he must have been distracted by the beautiful views, ATB, Damian.
Fell Wanderer Damian If your going to Scotland again and i know you will lol. Give me a message IF YOU want some partners in crime , namely me and Sink atb Eddie. p.s. i would probably not get time off but i could try.
amazing video. you should have checked the cave out to your right. steeped in history. how many others slept in that cave. my favourite place in the world. Thank you for letting me relive the experience. gonna do it soon. We stay only a couple of hours away xx
awesome video mate, I'm recovering from a knee injury at the mo, but I hope to do the West highland Way, Glencoe, Ben Nevis this spring. Thanks for the informative vid :)

You were a brave man going up there without any haggis repellent - the Highland haggis can be particularly vicious in summer when I was there one nearly bit my finger off
I really enjoyed this video and I think Glencoe is the most stunning place in Britain and camping there is well it's awesome and so many places to wild camp. How did you find the midges there? Can you reach the lost valley from the visitors centre if hiking? Hope you do another wild camp at Glencoe in future!
This is what You Tubes for videos like this absolutely spot on The Lost Valley is amazing place I was up there in 2012 and was blown away by the place and as you say it's 4 hours away from the northeast what time do you leave on the way up there and what time did you arrive back at home the following day thanks for sharing your adventure oh one last thing when I was up there there was a little chaffinch up there tame as anything
Kg51Edelweiss I was in Scotland for 12 days and left home at 3am to miss the rush hour and road works at Edinburgh and Glasgow. Travelled back early afternoon to miss rush hour and once over the border the back roads were really quiet. Didn't notice a chaffinch but saw other birds and could hear an eagle high up on one of the three sisters but couldn't spot it, wished I'd got some footage though. Thanks for your comment, Damian.
This has inspired me. One day I hope to get some hiking camping gear together like Snugpack Ionosphere tent & Snugpack sleeping bag. This may be one of the first places I'd come. Like someone else in the comments I'd like to camp near the Kingshouse too. I'd love to stay in the hotel but I think it's expensive. By the way I love your choice of music on this video too which goes so well with the beautiful vistas.
I like to come back to your early video's like this one every now and again. Definitely one of your better ones is this. They were all great in your early wild camping days like this
