Your baskets turned out lovely.🥰 I understand having a vision and things going a bit awry. The accidental color combo of the belt adds a bit of contrast that really works.🎉

You have done a wonderful job on the restoration of your storage baskets. The weaving on your Inklette loom is fascinating! What an amazing piece of engineering. Thank you so much for introducing this technique to me. Sending healthy vibes ❤❤❤

I love my inklette loom. Tried it with cards but preferred it without. Good video, thank you.

What great timing for me as a little shuttle arrived in the mail in the middle of this video! I obtained a secondhand inkle loom a couple months ago and just recently mustered up the drive to start looking up how to use it. I think I’m going to start a plain weave band later tonight!

Good to see the finished band used as upholstery trim. Ive never seen anyone use it for this in tablet weaving videos, mainly for trim for reenactment costumes. I've made dozens of bands in different fibres. Those that I've made using pearl cotton would be perfect for this as it's not an acceptable fibre for reenactment (strict rules)!
Now where's my hammer and tacks?

I have both sizes of loom. So far I have not used cards yet. I have only set up the weaving with heddles every other thread and created the patterns using the colours of the warp and plain tabby. It is also quite fun to see the pattern emerge, even though it is just plain tabby weaving. I plan to make shoe laces on my inkle loom. I can either weave them flat or make tubular laces. I plan to try both ways though just to see the result. As usual I have just been so busy I have not had a chance to actually get started lol

Your band is lovely and elegant, the star of the show on the baskets, imho. I love that the greens aren’t the same, creating interest. My pandemic purchased languishing inkle loom awaits. You’ve inspired me with this sweet, seemingly easy pattern. Ta!

Hei Katt :) This craft looks very interesting, I want to try it too! You could combine it with knitting, for example to hide your steek stitches. I send you a hug

Woah you’ve inspired me. I wanted to try this technique a few years ago, so much so that my son (13 at the time!) made me an inkle loom for xmas. It is beautiful but has until now only been used as a decorative piece in my craft space. Thank you for this video, it’s spurred me on to give it a go at last! ❤️

Weaving is something that will keep you occupied and challenged spiritually, physically and mentally for the rest of your life...and the tools are AMAZING, and you will use stash at an amazing pace. Of course, you might develop a cone yarns problem... 😂
    Enjoy!!

Great job on your storage bins. My sister offered me her inkle braid loom and I turned it down but seeing your inklet braid I may change my mind. ❤

I bought the larger one as it was on half price, I tried the other way, but I have a house full of cats, and I am looking after me Dad since his strokes early in the year.
I would make a fabric bag lining for the baskets as that will help to keep them dust free inside, but make sure you can pull them out to wash, me Dad’s Gran had them and that’s what she did with hers when we visited her when I was a child, I remember helping her as it was all hand sewn she did not have a sewing machine. I made the covers and lining while she made the braiding she was very fast on the ink-loam and carding. 😹😹we were both finished by the end of the weekend visit. My parents would visit family down the road and me brother went with them, I stayed the weekend with Great-Gran. I use to love them visits, she always had a chocolate penguin biscuit treats for us. Can not get them here in Australia, the closets to them is what the Aussies call TimTams 😹😹😹instead of one wrapped up in coloured foil with a penguin on the front 😹😹it’s a whole packet of 12. Sigh that was 50 years ago 😿
Thanks for taking me down memory lane, now I know why I bought my ink-loam 😹😹😹could not remember why I’ve always wanted one😹😹it took your baskets to kick that memory to the top of the pile🤗🤗🤗🤗

Thank you for sharing all your weaving projects Katt! I got into tablet weaving last spring too and got my inkle loom in June. I've only managed to make one finished project, I replaced the handles of an old tote bag, it turned out so nice. My second project, a belt, is on its way and this video definitely sparked my enthusiasm once again!

Audrey is a beautiful name for a cat. It reminds me of the movie "Breakfast At Tiffany's" from 1961, where the actress Audrey Hepburn plays the main character who owns a cat with no name. The movie is about having the courage to love and be loved, and about belonging somewhere. The final scene from the movie is uploaded here on TH-cam, it's absolutely awesome ❤🐈🐾
