What a beautiful story. I like how the father struggle with survival and the haunting memory of his daughter. A constant reminder of what was lost. But the father could only push on. His daughter will be truly dead if there is one left alive to remember her. The doomed journey of a father that both bitter and sweet.
@@solmyr42 It's depending on your interpretation. For me the survivor carried the memory of his love one. He continue to linger on just so he could continue to remember her. Just for the sake of preserving her he subject himself to the struggle of survival and haunted by the memory he carried. What bitter sweet is that after the last hurrah of struggling. He is wounded [You can see a blood continue to pour underneath him where he sat]. Realized he couldn't walk anymore. Take a seat and smoke while bleeding out. Even if there are no after life waiting for him. He done all he could to keep the haunting memory of her. And now finally....after all this time. He finally found peace.
Not gonna lie, I quickly got attached to "Wanderer" as we got shown his tragic backstory and yet, even when he had nothing left to live for, he still didn't gave up. That's something to admire in a way, because someone truly dies when they're forgotten, and at the very least, his daughter is still alive as long as he keeps himself alive to remember her. I'm glad he survived in the end, amazing story!
Thanks for the comment and for saying the message that i intended to give with the video. With the loss of everything he had, the only thing left for him was his memories. By not gaving up and taking his life, he decided to live on and keep the remembrance of the good times.

another well done heart wrenching story. I tried making a story a long time ago in project zomboid and it was just too much for me to do, the amount of work this must take, not only coming up with the ideas but the footage and editing, amazing job

No matter how far you run, or how much time may go by, you can never truly escape the past. Because it, both the good and the bad, is a part of who you are.
Really liked it but my favourite short story remains the one of the couple that got separated at the start and the man lived with another man until his injury healed so that he could visit his wife's dad's farm
Man i love how far the project zomboid community has gotten, back then it was an insanely niche game now its decently popular with a massive player base giving us high quality videos like this
This channel is really tapping into the crazy potential this game has for storytelling. Really surprised it hasn't gotten more popular yet. Amazing video!
God this was so unbelievably good. It's rare that I watch or read a piece of fiction and find that it really "connects" emotionally; but this really did. Just the thought of what it'd take to revisit such a place of trauma, completely alone, without anyone to ever share that pain with. I can almost feel that suffocating feeling. I've always wanted to RP more in PZ, but have never been able to devise a way to do it without really forcing it. I'd *love* PZ to have a "story system", where you are given random locations as "Our house", "Dad's house" etc, and perhaps given/are allowed to choose some things about your characters life before the apocalypse; so that you could visit those places and search them for information that could lead you to more locations. I don't imagine this would be too difficult to add tbh. Maybe someone could create a mod.
Thanks for the comment man! I've wanted to create a story that could transmit/give the viewer some sort of emotion without any type of conversation involved, just some scenes that matched the rhytim of the music. And yes, that would be cool, to have a backstory of your character that besides giving you extra points on some skills, maybe it could also let you for example have a certain area of the map unlocked since the beginning, or when visiting an specific place, your character would have a boost or debuff of the happiness moodle, etc. There's a lot of things that can be made based on that.
@@Werlias I remember watching a video that went over all versions of PZ N apparently in an earlier version, there were NPCs and you'd start at home w ur significant other (or smth like that) I think you went to check on them n then had zombies at ur door shortly after, cant remember it exactly

Fantastic, bro. I wanted to look for some fan-made stories from the community, and this is the thing that doesn't disappoint me. Everything was on point, and you managed to add some depth on the protagonist. Since 10 years passed, he went traveling for several days without meeting a single zombie only to encounter them at the end as one horde only. That's means that the zombie population dropped to a few hordes around the world + they are more spread out in the planet. Most of them probably died from lack of food (less humans to find and eat and the survivors are more experienced) and what remained is weaker because of their decayed body over a decade. That's would explain why the father was able to defeat the horde. Most likely he's one of many survivors spread around the world trying to survive hell. Civilization could return but it will be a difficult path and not before several hundreds of years. He will die alone or with a few survivors but he will be the legacy for future generations.
