Fantastic demo. Well, have 5 Lenco idle wheel turntables but had never found a good speed control system that wasn't utterly expensive and relatively efficient thus, your little demonstration ended up showing me what to do. Thanks. Well done.

Thanks best video on this power supply that I have seen. I appreciate you showing the problem solving around sensor and magnet installation.

That's a handsome turntable and plinth. I'm a Lenco user as well.

Hi, great job, and nice rebuild of your Lenco. Wondering where you are located? I'm in Asia. Thanks 👍

I like the idea but I don't see how this could possibly work well with only one bit of feedback per revolution. Old Sony direct drives use a similar system, but there is a full magnetic strip under the platter allowing it to monitor the speed hundreds of times per revolution. I have never had a problem dialing in the original Lenco motor to the exact speed and I don't find the speed changing system difficult. In fact it's one of the most ingenious designs out of all turntables ever made. Perhaps your strobe disk is off?

Great video. Not something i would use but i am very interested in the platter you are using. Is it a platter and spindle you can buy or is it a custom made platter / spindle?

Is it better to have two magnets on either side does this give a quicker accurate reading . Where's this company from? is that the same speed controller as the music hall cruise control 2.0
And didn't try it with the stylus on the record what would affected speed nice to seen it

How did you connect the two turntables to each other?

The magnet will pass under the pickup. Wouldn't it be better to put the magnet and sensor by the middle / spindle. That way the magnet won't be near the pickup.

The magnet is so small to affect the pick up of the stylus, even on a single platter setup. On my double platter, any magnetism is further negated. According to Phoenix engineering, the further away the sensor is from the spindle, the better it will be.

Please tell me about your double platter. Why and how?

Hi,I bought the Eagle PSU 25w to use with my garrard 301,but received I'm crazy for the hum,the buzzing, the voice it creates.Did you have any problems?

    • @goo4tube

+giovanni pace I did initially experience some noise, or hum and I was able to isolate it as a ground loop issue. I am using an MC cart with a Step-up Transformer (SUT) which was then connected to my phonostage. After trying so many different connections, I finally got rid of the ground loop hum by connecting the ground wire from my tonearm directly to my phono stage, bypassing the SUT. That worked like a charm and I have zero hum noise ever since, and I have a tube phono stage and tube amplifier which are sensitive to other types of noise like RFI/EMI. But they don't have any noise from the Roandrunner + Eagle PSU. I highly recommend you get in touch with Bill at Phoenix Engineering and I'm sure he will assist you in trying to find a solution to that grounding noise if my setup is different from yours and my suggestion doesn't work. Ground loop noise can be tricky and irritating, but with some patience and perseverance there are solutions to eliminate it. All the best

+AudioVisual.Nirvana Thanks a lot for your answer.I called Bill, but I have hum anyway.I use high output carts(Decca,Grado,Garrott)and I can't eliminate this horrible noise. When I tried an MC all is perfect.Ciao

+Giovanni Pace it is highly recommended you get the Roadrunner Tachometer for the PSU, so that the PSU will have an accurate reference of your platter speed and thereby supply the correct power regardless of record weight, record clamp, and cartridge vtf that altogether affects platter speed

A very nice turntable but folks, be warned. The moment you hold new items without any white gloves on your skin sucks all the 'new' out of them ;).
