Luce Irigaray is one of the most underrated philosophers. Her ideas might, at times, seem ahistoric and essentialist although a deeper scruitny would unearth potentiality within her framework which is offer a more put-together starting point that proves otherwise.
In a world where everybody has an axe to grind(a project of their own), it makes sense to have a common touchstone like the one used in mainstream Science, which is “A thesis has to be falsifiable for it to be taken seriously”. That is the only way for expanding the boundaries of knowledge !! Fortunately, it has no gender bias!! Now Freud can be held to our touchstone of falsifiability whereas a believer can not be. What can you say to a believer except "May be it is good for you" which takes our knowledge inowhere!!!
Is it meant to end so abruptly? I mean, I could go on listening to this for another hour easily ;)
This video is very clarifying, thank you!
