    I am starting to get into actual mudras, mantras, asanas, kriyas but I have a question that is plaguing me. I know everyone's experience is different, I also don't know if anyone else has experienced a Kundalini Awakening, BUT .... What is it all for? In the last few years I have brought on self inquiry, practices, different modalities of energy work. I have studied everything I can find about meditation, enlightenment, spiritual philosophy. I have had experiences, I can feel energy run through my body at will. I have had what I call minor Kundalini awakenings, I can move the energy up my spine, one time even to the point of crackling as loud as a jet , pure white light behind my closed eyelids and spatial geometric patterns in my third eye. I can feel my chakras at will most of the time and most of the time one or two are just buzzing on their own like magnets in my body. What is it all for? I haven't seen the oneness within all things, interconnectedness, .... I have experienced bliss moving through my body, but what Is the end game? And what is the purpose of it all? I feel like I'm stuck with my head in the clouds and feet firmly planted on an Earth that I want to run away from. I feel like all I want to do is escape reality, life has been hard for me. A part of me wants to just run with my mind into love and peace and create the best life that I can for me and the people around me, but I feel like I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Cause when I do get there, in a life that I may enjoy for a while, does it not always come falling back away? Like baba ram dass said? As long as you play the game of Life, you play the game of duality? Always playing with UPS and downs? What is it all for?

    Hi Ryan,
    In your Kriya Pranayam technique video, you describe what is I believe Ujjayi breathing, but through the mouth? I've been doing nadi shodhana and sushumna breathing through my nose this whole time, should they all be done through the mouth (inhaling and exhaling) w/ constriction of the glottis?
    Thank you for your time

    • @KriyaYogaOnline
      @KriyaYogaOnline  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +fromundachees Some are very explicit that it should be done through the mouth. I have found that after you become aware of the feeling of the circulation of life force within the body you can breathe through the nose.

      ok Ryan thanks, I will try altering the technique. Sometimes I feel a "shiver/electric current" passing through as I breath up through the spine, is this what the feeling is supposed to be like? Its much harder to feel the heat going down.

    Its true what you are say about the kundalini awakening. You shouldn't focus your mind too much on trying to reach anything. It is all just pointers. Don't compare to one another.
    Though If you had an kundalini awakening it can be very helpful to know what is going on with you. And I can confirm what the "certain sage" said. There is an energy stored at the Mula Bandha (from yoga). And it can rise up. Exactly the same thing happened to me. After the "experience" it almost felt like i could feel "every nerve" in the body. Don't take that to literally... But for example I could suddenly feel all kinda sensations on the bottom of my feet. wich i had never been aware of.
    Energy raised. This might sound as a positive thing, but for me it was hell. Probably because i had a lot of undissolved negative thoughts and emotions. And suddenly I became very aware of them.
    If it happens, you can be very confused. Especially, when you don't know what is going on. Be sure to trust on the "process" and yourself.

    As a devoted meditator, compassion has turned out to be a funny thing. It's unrealistic to think that transcending events erases history. I've ended up forgiving many, and play my role - kind, fair, and always willing to omit anything that has to do with previous hurts. These can no longer be considered friendships, but at least I've been truthful, loving, and warm..

    Hey Ryan, I am new'ish to kriya yoga, are there any techniques that give a glimpse of what is to come in order to further motivate my path? I am starting the systematic course of kriya yoga book and haven't really had any consciousness expanding experiences. I am starting to meditate and I am learning more about brahmacharya as well and I am also wondering how much practice is needed in order to notice a change in the consciousness. Another question. What is subtle awareness and what is subtle energy? Lastly I would love to study under a Guru or learn with other disciples and I have not found many in the area I am in. I am In New Hampshire and I would love to study more about Kriya Yoga as well as other things. I would greatly appreciate your response. Thank you.

    "Whoever you learn from is just a reflection of yourself"
    Well, This reflection of me is really fun! I enjoyed this video and laughed so hard! ... Thank you for being.
    All the fun part aside, I also have a question from you. You said:
    "Kriya is about knowing what you are, being yourself, and knowing how that's related to the wholeness of life, and then whatever role you play, whatever your personality is as long as you are in line with that, you are free and you are awake."
    Can you elaborate this more in the context of astrology? I'm a fan your other channel as well and have an understanding of what's going on in my chart and in my life experience but It certainly doesn't feel very free at certain times! I just feel being pulled into things (desires and pursuits) and I even rather enjoy them but at the same time compulsion is a necessary part of it... I hope I'm making sense. :)

    Hi Ryan, sometimes in my practice of pranayama, after the retentions (and the it keeps there), i feel a very powerfull vibration, shaking in my spine, i try to just breath and be calm without controling anything but my bandhas. this is normal? i feel happy when i feel it because in my mind is the sound of om and the feeling that my spirit or shakti is awakening. but sometimes is very intense. sometimes is very peacefull, and sometimes is very intensive because of this energy. what do y think? thank youuuu!!

    Teacher, you talked about playing an instrument. Could you perhaps speak a bit about musical instruments in meditation practice? I know that some traditions play the drum, flute, or other stringed instruments in their meditation practice. Could you give me some advice on using instruments in my practice? I have had moderate success, but many times I get caught up in the technical aspect of playing and it takes me out of the different states of mind I have in meditation. Many thanks!

    Hey Ryan, what is your take on smoking marijuana and meditation? I try to make time for both but have noticed I cannot focus to meditate while stoned, I am presuming this has to do with higher sensory levels , considering that I believe Kriya is calm separation from these senses. Ok well after watching the rest of this, i would have to disagree with you on something you said. Kundalini is very powerful tangible and real. It's one of the strongest things you will ever experience in your life. If you have ever done a psychedelic in your youth, a drug can't even touch the intensity of a kundalini Awakening. Have energy run through you that throws you into indescribable states of bliss, making your whole body convulse with energy and shake and tremble with residual effects for a month where your chakras buzz and your whole body quakes, and then tell people that it's just personal subjective phenomenon. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but there is a reason that it has been written about for thousands of years by many different cultures. People are asking because they want to know that same thing as me. Where does it all lead to? If people are misguided to believe that raising their Kundalini is just some experience that they are interpreting from their subconscious or some sort of fairy-tale, then if they accomplish it unaware then it can throw their life into chaos. It's not imagined or subjective residue. It's very tangible and can also be very dangerous when your body isn't prepared for it. Ask me how I know.

      This happens to me sometimes if I don't spend enough time in the paravastha state wherein you sit and relax while concentrating your closed eyes at the kutastha. Don't chant om, don't practice any technique. Just sit there relaxed. When I spend at least fifteen minutes like this after kriya, I become joyful. When I don't I can be irritable and get angry easily.

    How has this benefited your life?
    Sometimes I wonder because the metaphysical benefits of spiritualism are never or rarely percieved on the normal level of existence.
    IE yogis arent rich or powerful.
    I wonder if going down a spiritual path is worth it.
    I ask this with respect for you

    • @KriyaYogaOnline
      @KriyaYogaOnline  9 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Chris Cullen Some yogis are rich and powerful, we just don't know they are yogis. Realization is strictly internal. If someone wants to dramatize it, or act like it, that's up to them. But the true yogi can be found in any type of life, there is no equation of realization to worldly power or demonstration. That (acting or professing to be spiritual) is used by spiritual business people to support their career.
