    If I ever need a dynamic microphone that steps into the ribbon microphone territory I'll get the sE Electronics V7x. Is that thing really a dynamic microphone, because that low-end extension was huge?

      That is what i thought too. The low end is crazy on it but absolutely nothing was changed in the signal chain.

      @@sndgarage From want I can hear in the video V7x doesn't sound right with high gain recordings. The low end gets boomy and the top end is a bit warm.
      However, I think it'll be an excellent microphone for people who want to mic their guitar amps for Surf Rock or Spaghetti Western Music. A pretty common problem with using dynamic microphones for those genres is that they make the top end harsh and they make the guitars sound too cold and sterile. With its warm tonality and sweetened top end the V7x will solve those issues.

      I think you can probably solve the low end issue by stepping the mic back a few inches.
