BTW, if you climb the steep (!) path above Bâlea Lac, there is a ridge where you can stick your hand out and touch a cloud as it forms and shoots straight up. It's also fun if you can schedule your trip to coincide with the bicycle races they hold there -- park long before they close the road for the race, pack a picnic from the meats, breads, cheeses and spreads sold along the roadway, and watch the pro riders pound up the serpentine. Then hike a bit, watch a stunning sunset, and go to the hotel on the lake for bean soup in a bread bowl, and papanași for dessert, plus a glass of Țuică made from the local fruits. It's a good way to spend a day.

haha, the water of Balea Lake could never be dirty. I once was there in august, left from 31 degrees celsius in Bucharest to 13 at Balea. No one swims there, it's just too cold. Maybe only those explorers trying all kinds of crazy things to do 😂 other than that, it Trans-Fa-Ga-Ra-Shan, means the road that crosses Fă-Gă-Raș (pronounced kinda "Fuh-Guh-Rush") mountains. They contain the highest peak of Romania, Moldoveanu Peak (2544 meters above sea level). Glad you had a great experience, come back for more, Romania is packed with beautiful sights, delicious all natural food and much more.
We will definitely be back to Romania! Like you said there's so much to see including the other famous road we've been recommended so many times the transalpina! Excited to come back to Romania one day! 🇷🇴

There are more nice roads like Transalpina (highest romanian road), Transrarau... You also should visit Danube Delta (but also all Dobrogea region), monasteries from Bucovina, cities of Sighisoara, Brasov, Sibiu, strongholds of Râșnov, Rupea, Făgăraș, Neamț, Enisala, Deva, Alba Carolina etc. It's nice to see foreign tourists excited by our beloved country.
We visited sighisoara and tried a bunch of local food their, it was amazing! We have also seen Rasnov and the area around Brasnov! Videos should be on our channel! The rest of it We haven't seen but really want to come back and do it all!!

To see bears,it is best to travel the road in oposite direction...To start frome Sibiu end and go toword Curtea de Arges.Bears are usualy in forested portion before the dam,but they exit on the road little bit later in the day...If travel that part in the morning,are less chanses to see them.

Timișoara is amazing! We spent the most time there (a few days before the trip and a couple after as well!)
Transfagarasan was made for military purposes, but it became a tourist attraction thanks to top gear

I believe we were making the drive in August! We got super lucky with the weather the whole time we were in Romania!
To see bears,it is best to travel the road in oposite direction...To start frome Sibiu end and go toword Curtea de Arges.Bears are usualy in forested portion before the dam,but they exit on the road little bit later in the day...If travel that part in the morning,are less chanses to see them.

Romanian language is part of Romance languages evolved from "vulgar Latin" with also a small touch of Slavic influence... so absolutely nobody expects you to pronounce anything perfectly.
