I got the same craftsman tractor. I got to do the same with drive belts and pulleys
I tried to adjust the valves myself . I got all different settings for. I set mine at .004 for the intake and .006 on the exhaust. Runs but it’s still not right?

Great video helped save me from buying a new one. Mine keep throwing the drive belt and I was getting frustrated that’s why I ran to U tube for help as to why that sucker keeps tossing belts. Well thanks to you it my live again LMAO

I need to replace the drive belt spring on my craftsman yt4000 but can't figure out how it hooks up to the pully and the frame or where it hooks up so could tell me how to hook up the spring. The old one broke off so I didn't see how/where it was hooked up.

Nice video, I was wondering when exactly do you put the front of the belt on the engine pulley? Is it before you put it around the pulleys or after? thanks again? By the way did you have the emergency brake on the give more slack.

My idler pulley is blown apart and now the nut is stripped and stuck on the bolt. Do these bolts have a slot head or hex or...a way to access the top side?? I'm about to toss my tractor into a lake!
How many minutes? That must have been leaving off the front engine pulley. Noticed you left that off.
My mower is moving but it’s barely pulling itself. If you get off of it it will pull like a champ. What could be causing this? Worn belt?
