  • In this photo deconstruction I break down each part of the creative process from lighting to retouching and more to show you how I use 2 Nanlite Pavotubes for a compelling image with eye-catching color.
    If you follow my work you know how much I love using color in my photos. Typically I achieve this with gels, but lately I’ve fallen in love with these lights from Nanlite. Fundamentally they are portable, battery powered (or you can plug them in) constant lights in the form of rubes that have the ability to go full RGB. I can change their color, dim them etc. The versatility alone really makes them worth it.
    They are a great way to add a ton of color to your shots and can add some really cool catchlights as well.
    As I often begin with most of my concepts, my wardrobe stylist brought me this funky headpiece with lots of gems and it got me thinking … I could use multiple lights with different colors and hopefully it would “catch” in certain spots with the gems. The Pavotubes were perfect for this.

    💡 Lighting:
    ✅ Main light: NanLite PavoTube 30c 4’ - above the head
    ✅ Fill light: NanLite PavoTube 30c 4’ below
    ✅ Background light: Profoto D1 + 20 degree grid + Magenta Gel as modeling light
    Essentially what I have here is clamshell lighting. Light above and light below.

    👇 So what do you think of the using these as constant lights? They are super versatile and fun to use. Let me know what you think of the end result too, drop a comment below.

    I really love how you are always looking to bring something new and exciting and fresh to your images. I honestly wouldn't have looked twice at the Pavo lighting had I not seen your work. Definitely on my wish list now. Thank you for your unending inspiration.

    Thanks for the enthusiestic performans. You are not only a professional artist but a good teacher. I have a legal question about NFT photography. I made photos about three famous people. Can I make NFT of the photos without asking their agreement or legal point of view it would be mistake? Thanks in advance to your answer Imre

    I love the concept and love hour you retouched the photos. I might be getting the Pavo tubes soon but I was curious what clamps did you use to hold them on the light stand?

    Hi Lindsay I just watched your photo shootout with Dani Diamond. You killed period. I have a question if you don’t mind. How did you shoot the beauty dish at the glass window without the reflection of light showing up in the frame.

    Hi. Thank you for the video. How do you deal with gels against the modeling light on a D1? Doesn’t it get hot? Thank you.

    • @lindsayadlerphoto
      @lindsayadlerphoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just make sure there is a little space/air between the gel and the front and it is fine unless you shoot a ton of frames at full power.

      Seems like the only buttons she's pushing are yours since you likely don't have 1/10th the amount of talent that she has in her little finger pressing the button. :)
