What a neat little plane.. Very capable for all type of pilots. Its a perfect plane to have in the hanger for those days when the weather isn't perfect but you want to fly as well as for training new pilots. Great video as always...
Adam good review and video and I seen you looking at me about breaking that front wheel lol Have a Merry Christmas to you and your Family enjoy your channel a lot ☺🎅🎄🎅🎄👍👍👍👍
Adam. Glad FMS has birds like this one for beginners. Floats too. This is perfect size to toss in the car and go without any fuss. I had to smile when I heard those wheels grind a bit on them touch and goes. Remind me back many years ago flying the Apprentice...Another good beginner bird as well. Hope you and family still doing well. Take care my friend. 🙂
Great flying and great review Adam and Heidi, yes the Ranger has a lot of fans out there!! I can see why it looks the usual Fms quality, and in your hands flies very well 😀👍
The Ranger seems to have all the aerobatic chops that most pilots would need, so it's fair assessment that it spans trainer/intermediate skill levels. Plus, it has a beautiful graphic and colour scheme that some of us (well... me) might shamelessly copiy it and apply it to their ST Discovery models! It shouldn't be allowed! 🤭😄😄😄 Great review as usual from the unstoppable Model AV8R channel.
I have the fms cessna 172 v2 and with out the assistance stuff cause it didnt come with it it flies like a dream like any beginner plane should its more for someone with some flight time but it still is a great plane so i can only imagine how nice the ranger flies
Great job to you both - to show how versatile the Ranger is. The kind of plane someone could learn with and then enjoy a lot of flying with it later. I have always been impressed with the music you open with. Is that Bubba cranking up & down on those guitar strings? If so, that might be fun to see as well.
Hi Adam and Merry Christmas - I had an idea pop into my head (yes it does happen from time to time) - as I was watching this and thought I would share it - if your are doing an reviews on an FMS aircraft - I really do think you could save a lot of time with them - all that needs to be said is " It's FMS with a Reflex - Go Buy It" !!! lol - sorry Adam had to do it , You know how much I love FMS aircraft...I have the 1800mm Ranger and its a keeper, as always a real pleasure to see you fly - hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas.
Great plane. If you're doing well on the sim you should be fine. Just make sure you get someone experienced to make sure the plane is set up/trimmed correctly for you.
@ModelAV8RChannel ok thanks. I probably should order the tools to set trim with so I have a set myself also wouldnt you think? Hoping to get pretty serious in the hobby. Also do you recommend any good battery's? Ordered a couple of zeee 3s 1500mah for extras along with venom dual port charger
You can usually mechanically adjust/center the control surfaces with simple tools. Small Phillips Head screwdrivers or Allen wrenches. The thing is, just because the surfaces are centered doesn't mean the plane will fly straight. Trimming the plane in flight is done with the transmitter. If you're brand new, there are several things in the set up of the airplane before flight that are critical, and how it is further trimmed and set up flying is key as well. Your chances of success are greatly improved by getting an experienced pilot to help you with that process at first. The batteries you have ordered are fine for your training mission.
@ModelAV8RChannel awesome thanks for all the tips. I have a friend I haven't talked to in a few years that got real big into the rc plane world I may see if I can get intouch with him for help or find another experienced pilot. Better to be safe than sorry. I did buy a nitro trainer P-51 mustang a real long time ago crashing on maiden then sold it. Don't what that to happen again. So technically this is my 2nd plane 😅 once again thank you
The girlfriend got this to learn on and it’s a great airplane. Put a Spektrum receiver in it so she has Safe on a switch if she gets in trouble. I was surprised how much I enjoyed flying it. Plus it’s pretty lookin up in the sky.
Hey Adam, greetings from downtown melbourne. I had the 850mm & the 1800mm versions. The bigger is better. Great value for the package. A 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 presentation mate!!
I have the older version of this plane. Wheels are totally different and no gyro. I already flew it into a tree and snapped it in half but fixed it. Then today the wings ripped off lol. Probably residual from the tree accident. Watching you control it so well is infuriating. I hope to get there some day. You're soooooooooo accurate. I hear a lot of throttle variation. I can't fathom that you made the plane do all that. Pleasure to watch you fly the same plane. I will let you know how many bottles of glue this thing can fly with when I finally learn how to fly the damn thing.
Well man to be fair I've been flying RC a very long time...I wasn't always this good, Lol. It takes exactly what you're doing...practice and crashing. We all did it and occasionally I still do. Keep an eye out for a video we are working on now...Landing RC planes for beginners. Might help. Thanks for watching!
Adam great review of a fun flyer from Beginner to beyond Flyers. I was holding my breath wondering if you'd break the front landing gear. 😂😂😁😁 The FMS Ranger is a great flyer. Merry Christmas Jeff in LA USA
Nice review !!! i am looking for a trainer for my son , what is your opinion as better trainer between apprentice sts or this fms ranger? any comments is appreciated.! thanks!!
Thanks! Man they are both so good. The Apprentice is a bit bigger and can take bigger batteries, which you can use in a larger variety of other airplanes. It also has a really long flight time with a 3s 3200. The Ranger though is a fantastic option as well, and a good bit less expensive, which is nice. They are both pretty tough. Also take a look at the Aeroscout. That is another great option. Your son will enjoy any of these I would think.
@@ModelAV8RChannel thanks for your comments. My son flies small foam planes already but his goal is warbirds, i guess the larger the trainer the better. thanks again for your response.!!!
It's nearly indestructible which makes it perfect for beginners. Though one would hesitate to call Adam a beginner with how well he pilots this bird.
Thanks Jon. It is a tough one...

Ha! You know Gina I thought about your plane when I saw this one! Yes ma'am, it is a surprisingly capable plane, we really had fun with it!
It sure does look a lot cooler on floats, than on those training wheels.
Another reason to find friends with swimming pools 👍
Yes...Ohhhhh I wanna try it out of a pool...lol

Yep. Most good high wing planes fly well. The Ranger is exceptional.

Thanks very much! It really is a great little plane. The music is something we found on our editor. We like it too! Bubba would be playing a banjo...

I just 'subbed. I will be getting this plane shortly...should be fun. I saw this plane a couple months ago and just have ta have it.
Nice! Welcome. You'll enjoy the Ranger.
Ordered mine yesterday. 1st plane but have been doing well on a training sim so hopefully thatll help along with reflex. Nice video

Got one on the way can ya run a 2200mah battery..?
I don't think there is enough room in the hatch for a 2200. I think I got a 1500 in there.
Can you give me the dimensions of the box that it comes in
Sorry I can't. Don't have the box anymore.
Ok thanks anyway, I have one coming and I’ll be flying home and wanted to see if it would fit in a Lg hard side suitcase
Probably not but maybe if you take the parts out and re-arrange them. The only thing is the wing is one piece, so that is 1220mm/48 in.
Great flying as usual Adam, I find it strange that they call this a trainer as well. Still a fun plane with FMS quality. 🫡
Great plane for sure Chris! Thanks brother!
