My daughter is considering Veterinary Science in either HK City U or in the UK... Difficult choices to make 😢. She is using her A levels for entry.

as I'm not studying in the UK & haven't had friends study in HK City U, I don't think I'm in the right place to comment about either regions' vet schools
but i do think factors such as: where does she plan on working after graduation? budget etc. should be prioritised and discussed with the right education counsellor to enable her to make the best choice possible!

Heya! It actually was a combination of factors for me, mostly coz it was the cheaper option & it being AVMA accredited

hii is letter of recommendation necessary for the uni app? and when do you know whether you got in? if i applied early, will i get to know early?
Sflr! LOC isn’t necessary for some schools, I believe in US/Canada it is compulsory though.
Regarding when you’d be notified, it’s really school dependent so I can’t speak on that matter sorry! xx

Heyy!! I love your videos!! May I ask, I’m a secondary sch students studying in Singapore now, but I want to pursue my career in veterinary science as well! May I know, did u go to poly and do veterinary science there after O Levels? And if so, what are the requirements to get into Poly Veterinary science in Singapore? Thanks!
Hii, from her other vids, she took the A levels. For vet poly courses in SG, I believe that they closed down a few these past few years and there is only TP vet tech course for O level grads, and a post-diploma conversion (1 year) in veterinary clinical science at NP. Please check it out on their respective websites for more info, the cut off is usually released. It’s quite competitive I heard, and might have interviews, but again please go to their websites for the correct info in case I am wrong :) Do consider what you want to do after poly, if you are thinking to going on to become a vet, there are no vet programmes in sg sadly, the closest you can get is NUS Uni melb (I believe you will need a high gpa from poly as well), or overseas Uni which usually cost a ton unless you get a scholarship (NParks)
Edit: Just adding on, I realised to enter the NUS unimelb concurrent degree require H2 biology for A levels.

Requirements changes every year so best to check with the individual poly!
hey was wondering if the grades for A levels for murdoch and the nus concurrent degree programme need to be for specific subjects? ( etc A for h2 chem, h2 bio etc) or can they be any 3 h2 subjects so long as they are all A? thank you so much for this video!
As far as I remember (not very well, you might have to check the links in the description for more updated info), yes. Just A in h2 subjects. But for most vet schools, they do require you to do h2 in bio, chem and/or math.

@@epiphany6748 hmmm, that’s a tricky one and I’m afraid I can’t advise you on that :’( considering the ever-changing vet school requirements, I suggest you to approach or book an appointment w your school’s education/career counsellor for further details. Further research doesn’t hurt either ;) the links in the description are to the different school’s websites (which means different requirements), tinker around with the website’s requirement tab and you should be able to find your answer

hiya! what type of resources are you interested in? coz the textbooks and stuff all vary on the different uni lecturer's preference (ie you could have 10 different textbooks on physiology)
