Your pinning technique is extremely helpful, especially for new quilters. When the results are perfect (or near perfect) I'm motivated to finish and excited to start my next project.
Love your videos and work. Thank you for sharing. I love how you do things. Just makes total sense to me every step of the way. Woo hoo 😎 Cheers from BC Canada 🇨🇦 ❤
You are an inspiration. I always learn so much watching your videos. I plan to watch the HST one again as I so want to have these fantastic, beautiful points.
This was a very detailed explanation of how to get perfect half squares. I am finding I really like all my seams pressed open even though I was told to press to one side. I have sewn many garments so I think my new rule is press the seam open. Thanks 😊
I look forward to these videos every month. I'm financially not able to join any fabric "'bundles/ boxes" However, I do enjoy seeing the newest fabrics come alive in your beautiful designs. I'm hoping this pattern will become one in your next book. Thanks for all you do to help us make beautiful quilts.
I always press my seams open - I seem to get much better results that way and I've never seen any evidence that the seams are weak. This is a really beautiful quilt pattern.
Very pretty quilt. I think the fruit is a fig. The fabric you commented on looking like a mushroom...I'm pretty sure those are nasturtium leaves....the flower it produces is edible.
How much bigger should I cut my squares to account for the trimming that will be needed once the half-square triangles are cut and pieced together? Does the scant 1/4" take care of that? That's what I'm always a little confused about.
We add 1 inch to the finished HST measurement which has room for trimming built in. The scant quarter inch seam gives you a little more wiggle room also! :)
Nice! I do have a question though and I apologize if you have already covered the topic in previous videos. I am still fairly new to the quilt top peicing. My question is, when do you peice and only use a 1/4" allowance vs using a scant 1/4"?
Quilts are basically a giant geometric puzzle. You've got to be exact with your cutting and piecing or it won't got together right. When you are putting blocks together, you need an exact 1/4" seam. When you are sewing HSTs from squares and are going to trim to size, a scant 1/4" seam gives you a little extra wiggle room help make sure everything turns out right.
One of the biggest issues I experience when purchasing fabric online is the colour is different in person to what is displayed on the monitor. I haven't ordered from your shop as yet, so maybe I'd have a more positive experience ordering from you.
I see glue basting as making sewing more complicated than it has to be. Just take your time and pin properly and you’ll have great results without gumming up your fabric.
Hello this is my first time on your tutorial. Did you ever find out what kind of fruit was in your material? If not it looks like a passion fruit. I like all your information and hints I will definitely be coming back for more my name is Rosie
Am I the only person who doesn't like fat quarters? I don't like having to iron out the creases before getting started. I'll take a layer cake or jelly roll over this any day. What am I missing?

Passion fruit. My friend has it in her garden here in Spain.
Oh wow! That's fun!
I don’t care for the traditional pineapple block but I really like this!
This is an amazing quilt. Can't wait to get started on this one. Thank you for another great Stashin pattern and fabric combo.
Thank YOU! So happy you love it!
Wish I could still get that fabric now. I steer away from modern fabrics as I have a very traditional home, but these seem more transitional.
Come sono felice che il video abbia la traduzione in italiano 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Great tutorial thanks 👍👏🥰🌷

Have you ever tried glue basting?

I say the fruit is either passion fruit or guava

Thank you! Yes, we did - make sure to watch the designer chat with Sarah Gordon when we release it tomorrow!
I think it's a fig. I don't like bugs, except for butterflies.
Passion fruit
Do you no longer have the RI store? My friend and I have been planning to visit this summer!
We are online only now.
The fruit is a fig!
Could be a quince?
Am I the only person who doesn't like fat quarters? I don't like having to iron out the creases before getting started. I'll take a layer cake or jelly roll over this any day. What am I missing?
