Awesome!!! Lots of hard work but look at your bounty! My Father-in-law loved to garden. He was a natural at it. I remember him getting my son out there to help harvest potatoes like that as well. Great memories and great food.
Nice potato harvest You both work so hard and are reaping the rewards. What wonderful blessings! We finally got a little rain during the night. Our poor grass is all but dead, but it will spring back soon. We are looking forward to Fall temps. Normally it stays pretty hot with a few cooler days mixed in until around mid-November. Hard to believe how fast this year is melting away. Sorry to ramble. LOL! Enjoy the rest of your week and weekend! 💙💙💙
Thank you Carolyn 💜 We are very blessed! Oh my gosh, if I could send you the rain I would. We haven’t seen the sun in a week!! Either rain rain rain or just cloudy and miserable. The only plus is with all the kitchen work I have I don’t feel torn to be in the garden. So there is always blessing in disguise somewhere 😉 Blessings to you and S 💜
Some nice potatoes there, I'm sure you will turn them into some great meals and maybe more frozen fries for Frank? Then there's mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, baked potatoes, hash brown potatoes, all so good! Uno has gotten so big, all grown up ❤
Very nice potatoe harvest! I usually plant mine in 5gal grow bags, but this year we planted in a hugelkultur, so I am anxious to see how they did. Do you can any potatoes? For the first time last year I dry canned some of mine to try. I washed super good, put in qt jars, added one teaspoon kosher salt, wiped jars, placed lids on put in water bath canner, placed a glass plate on them, and weights, then filled canner with cold water, to about 2 inches over jars, brought to a boil, and processed 3 hrs. They were fabulous! I will never add water to my potatoes again. It made such a difference in taste and texture. Have a blessed day my friend.
Thanks Bonney 💜 Our first two years growing potatoes we did hugelkulter at our previous homestead and it was very successful! I do can potatoes but will only can them when i see they won’t last in storage or we too many 🤞 I love dry canning them too! Frank prefers them in water so if I do them this year I’ll do half and half 😉
Hope you are not suffering from all the rain! I'm thinking of starting building and Ark soon! My potatoes didn't flower this year, not sure what happened, got lots of tiny potatoes but nothing substantial
The garden hasn’t been too bad. That’s why I wanted to get these potatoes out before this current rain. My ducks and geese are loving this rain 🤣 Sorry you didn’t have the harvest you wanted. There’s always next year 🤞 What method do you use to grow them?
Thanks! It was a great harvest. UNO grew up way to fast but she’s still slightly attached to us (for now 💕) The potato salad should be coming up soon for a Fin Food Friday 😉
Wonderful potato harvest 😃yay.
Thank you! I see you take on way way bigger projects. Where do you get the energy ???
@@JustTheTwoOfUsHomestead Honest answer is, my energy, endurance and strength come from God. He sustains me ❤
The treasure hunt of the potatoes. Always so fun to watch.
Exactly Linda 💜 I get excited watching too 😉
What a great harvest! It’s like a treasure hunt when digging up potatoes!
Thank you Jane 💜 That’s exactly why I love root crops, you never know BUT when it’s not a great harvest the feeling isn’t quite the same 😉
Hello, that is quite the harvest of potatoes! Fantastic! Back breaking work but apparently worth it. Thank you for sharing and have a lovely day.
Thank you 💜 It’s always fun but it was so hot and humid 🥵
Very nice and Frank look very happy ! Uno has gotten so big. Thank you for sharing your video 👧🏻
Thanks Lyn 💜 He practically inspects each one 🤣 Uno is just about as big as the other ducks 😔 but she still comes “home” to sleep 💕

Thanks! It was a lot of fun ☺️
Good harvest
Other than the heat it was lots of fun 😀
They look good we will pull ours next week
Thanks 💜 Good luck with your harvest!
Nothing from the store tastes like garden potatoes!
Frank absolutely loves the garden potatoes! I feel the same way about the carrots.
Very nice harvest! May just have to give Ruth's method a go!
Thank you Clara 💜 I have tried different methods for growing potatoes and this is the “easiest” and for us seems to work the best!
Frank found some very nice size potatoes. Ours was not so great this yr.
Thanks Holly 💜 Sorry to hear your harvest wasn’t great. Better luck next year 🤞 What growing method do you use?
🥔👍🏻

That’s pretty impressive, there were plenty of nice potatoes in those buckets. Nice to see Uno, she’s all grown up!
So how was the potato salad?
Thanks! It was a great harvest. UNO grew up way to fast but she’s still slightly attached to us (for now 💕)

Nice harvest! How many pounds of potatoes do you typically use per year between the two of you?
Thanks Phillip! Last year we grew 158 pounds and that lasted until around March. Frank loves potatoes and I use them in a lot of canning recipes
