I am currently working through the OT very slowly listening to Skip Heitzing's teachings. Went through Genesis and now about halfway through Exodus. And God told me I should study this chapter. So I looked up videos on YT after reading through the chapter. I decided on this one. Had never heard of this pastor or ministry. And it was excellent. What I struggle with a lot is I can sit and study the Bible for hours ( I love to study) and then be an assehole to the people around me.

Galatians 5:16, 17 describe this battle between the Spirit of God within us and the desires of our sinful nature. Every Christian has the Spirit of God, but we need to deliberately choose to walk under the influence of the Holy Spirit. The more that we walk after the Spirit, the less we will do things that we wish we didn't. Hope this helps.
Galatians 5:16, 17 16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish.

    What! Sharing the Divine nature,
Why has God chosen to love us even to this extent.
He has given us the ministry of reconciliation 2cor 5: 17-20
He has called us all to Himself to show forth His glory 1 Peter 2:9
Act 2, He has fulfil in us the promise in Joel by given us Himself in the power if His spirit as an enablement for not being BARREN and UNFRUITFUL.
Thank you PST. David, hope to hear from you more often.

Awesome, thorough message. The knowledge of God who created us and all life knows everything and has what we need mentally, emotionally, physically, psychological and financially. He holds all we need to get what we need. And his word is true

Knowing yourself or talking about oneself will not always solve the problem. I feel inspired by God but uninspired by my lifestyle at the moment. I feel like I am missing out on getting to know the fullest of me in Christ at the moment and still pray that moment and process to enrich and enroll. I am more than a cleaning bin for others, I do want to share in the divine nature, loosening the word of 2 peter 1, 2 corinthians 6:14 in my life and the lives of my family, friends, colleagues, neighbours, acquintances, opponents and the body of Christ, loosening all from all corruption through lust that is in the world upon no return in my life! God please see and hear me! Thank you almigthy God, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ: amen. Annelies Bakker, the Netherlands.

Find a godly Christian who is of the same sex, who has overcome tremendous trauma in their lives thru the power of christ (oftentimes people in recovery), and meet with that person weekly, every week. And 100%you will come to walk in the divine will and propose he has for you. But don't stop after a year. Continue year after year while you put into action their suggestions for you. This discipleship or mentorship will strengthen you, he wants us to do this life together, submitted in humility.
      God bless you

Do we just want the crumbs that fall under the table that the dogs get to eat, are we just satisfied with that or do we want more of what's
on the table that's available to us?

Need for community: I agree with this, but where did you get this from the text of 2 Peter 1? Around the 10 minute mark.

    • @DavidGuzikEnduringWord
      @DavidGuzikEnduringWord  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Thank you for your comment! The point about community regarding 2 Peter 1:2-4 is as follows. But first, the verse:
... _His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue_ ...
This verse tells us that we have received "all things that pertain to life and godliness" through the knowledge of Him. But how do we come to the knowledge of Him?
*From David Guzik's Enduring Word commentary:*
      "Through the knowledge of Him:"
We come to knowledge of Him as we learn of Him through His Word, through prayer, and through the community of God’s people. It is true that we need God alone, but God does not meet us only in our solitude but also in the community of His people.
      enduringword.com/bible-commentary/2-peter-1/
We have evidence that this is the case from verses like Matthew 18:20
"For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.” This tells us that God is literally present in the community of believers, and in this way we may come to the knowledge of Him through our agreement and fellowship with others in Christ.

~Barely saved you say? (27:10 of this video)I don’t think that’s what the apostle Paul was saying at all.
1 Corinthians 3: 15 If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss but yet will be saved-even though only as one escaping through the flames.
~”Yet will be saved” is said before” barely escaping the flames” it never states that one “is barely saved”
The believers judgment is the Bema Seat Judgment and we are not even at the same judgment as the unsaved, which is the Great White Throne Judgment.
Jesus said he does not lose one that the Father has given it to him. All believers at the Bema seat judgment will be saved no matter how big the fire will be when our works are tested.
I really don’t think he means people who barely make it into Heaven either. It’s the blood of Jesus that justifies the ungodly and when our works are tested it’s for rewards and positions in Heaven. Not to see if we will make it in or barely make it in.

Interesting rewards and positions in Heaven. So its not about just getting in because as a believer you getting in period. For some people thats all they want is to "just get in"....

Getting into heaven is one side of the same coin, getting heaven into us whereby a transformation occurs, and what that transformation should look like is the other side of the coin.
Not just a cross around the neck that'll get you in but one you take up and follow Jesus.

The words 'Divine nature' ( Greek Theiotes ) is the SAME word Paul used at Col 2:9 where 'trinitarian' translators use 'godhead'! ( This word was not coined until the 13th century by John Wyciffe!) Since Peter stated at 2 Peter 1:4 that true Christians would "Share divine nature with Christ", rules out the thought that the word means 'God'! Christians will become SONS of God and therefore they are called BROTHERS ( not of God!) but of the Christ! ( See Rom 8:17 & heb 2:11). These two texts themselves prove the 'trinity' is false!

      Enduring Word Team:
If you've deciphered all the Greek and have finally settled the issue once and for all, you deserve the recognition and congratulation due to you. But you must then answer why the Great Commission instructs us to: "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." - Matthew 28:19 (NIV). Any other verse can qualify and specify the relation and correlation between Father and Son - and the Son is rightly entirely subject to the Father - but there is no other justification for why Father, Son and Holy Spirit are coequal in the baptism which saves, than to recognize the Christ as, "God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made; of the same essence as the Father.".
No Christian can doubt the existence of the Spirit of God, or Holy Spirit. In denying the Trinity, there is only the rejection of Christ as the Son of God and God the Son. In your opinion, then, how is Christ's sacrifice able to offer absolution and salvation through His crucifixion and resurrection, if He is not a part of the Trinity or Godhead, irrespective of the origins of the vocabulary? What does His sacrifice bear out, were He merely and entirely man - as this would deny His immaculate conception, and make impossible the claim that He lived a literally sinless life (being born of Adam/man)? Why involve Christ at all, if He were not divine?
Just because Christ recognizes the supremacy of God the Father ("the Father is greater than I"), and rightly acknowledges He does nothing outside the will of the Father, does not preclude His own divinity.
Additionally, Christ Himself tells us of the unpardonable sin, to blaspheme the Holy Spirit - under what authority is this sin unpardonable, but under God's? So, in what sense is Christ able to proclaim this, were He independent of divinity entirely? Is He merely a messenger? To suppose Christ is not God the Son, but is merely a great prophet or teacher, is no greater than what any Muslim or New Age spiritualist believes.

God wants to move you and me by His Holy Spirit. I love David Guzik, but this part of his preaching is annoying. He says you and I for everything when often times it should be, you and me. I know it's picky, but it bugs me.
