New sub! I love the way you explained everything! I just got a new kitchen aide mixer and was looking up recipes. I’ve always done the masa by hand but it is very time consuming to get it right. I love how you infused the lard with the onion! Omgoodness I’m so excited to try this recipe this year! I’ll bet they turn out better than ever before 😋👍

Thank you for sharing this easy recipe. I have done this with my grandchildren and now they want tamales all the year! So much easier than when our grandmothers would beat that lard and masa by hand. God bless them for all they taught us and all the traditions we now give our children and grandchildren. Have a great Holiday Season with your friends and family!

Gloria, what different ingredients would you use to make it red masa, would you just use the peppers like you use in your other videos? could you tell me how that would be made? How many tamales do you get out of this?

When I make my masa I do use ¼ of the liquid needed from the boiled peppers. It will give them a red tint.
